It's like the old Soul Foundry, but for Artifacts. Nice!
@MrBarrelRoll: Training Grounds and Heartstones won't do anything to help that combo. They only reduce the ability costs of creatures, and none of those cards are creatures. *Didn't see that part... my bad.

Pump out voltaic keys with it then the turn after (or if you find an infinite mana generation source, the same turn) pump a bunch of counters into Grindclock. Likely to win. You will just need to use it in a deck with Memoricide to get rid of those pesky Eldrazi.
Prototype a voltaic key just for the looks your opponent will give you. Just think, a door that makes its own key, over and over again.
@ trmpteerdavie14 : feel free to put a mox opal on one of these if you're my opponent. I'll just nod and smile until you try to put a second opal into play, at which time I will politely point out that Mox opal is legendary...

Nice card, many uses. Same problem as with soul foundry though: if you don't get to copy the imprinted card more than once, you better just have played it. And to find of course enough cards with a cheap cmc but that are worth getting cloned this way. In a slow game, imprinting sculpting steel would be fun. Keeps you up to date with the best artifacts for a small manacost. :)

Imprint with Voltaic Key. Use each new key to untap and reuse the Prototype Portal. Next turn you can use them to untap and then be sacrificed to Geth's Throne, allowing you to proliferate poison, -1/-1, +1/+1, loyalty, and/or charge counters like Hell.

@ MrBarrelRoll: Having March of the Machines in play would cause the Mindslaver token to go to graveyard as a state-based effect as a result of having 0 toughness (cmc = 0, not 6), even if it did survive, it'd enter the battlefield with summoning sickness (as a creature)...
Seems to me like this is the most devestating card in the set and should be pretty high up there if your in a booster draft especially if you get a contagion engine out.

heh. Imprint a myr battlesphere and every turn you produce a copy you get 4 extra colorless 1/1 myr tokens.
This + Voltaic Key. Hilarious. Essentially it's 2: Make a tapped Key, if you compare the inputs and outputs.
I once made 42 (or so) Key tokens in only three turns, made a great amount of mana off an Everflowing Chalice, and fired a huge Fireball against an opponent with lots of life.

Where artifact creatures are concerned, this is identical to Soul Foundry. Epic.
Technically, Lotus Bloom has an unpayable mana cost, which {0} by default.
So, you could imprint this on the portal, tap the portal for no mana, and get a token Lotus Bloom that turn. Then you could Voltaic Key it, and then use Tezzeret the Seeker's first ability to untap them both, and crank out 2 more bloom tokens. Geez, now you just need to find something to spend the 12 mana on something that blue artifacts can't already get out by turn 5.

So many awesome ways to use this. I plan on trying to make a combo with Throne of Geth and either Ichor Wellspring or Arcbound Worker. The former would let you draw two and proliferate every turn for {2}, the latter would give an artifact creature a +1/+1 counter and proliferate every turn for {1}.
Also, Sculpting Steel would be awesome. You could pump one out every turn starting on turn 4. If you pull that off, your opponent probably won't be playing their Blightsteel Colossus.

Ichor Wellspring, but from what I see, there are far more insidious combos
It'd be cool to combo this with Venser, that is, if his first ability can cause Imprint to happen everything it returns to the battlefield. Once you have Asceticism out, you could do this Imprint on Precursor Golem, and get out a 3 3/3 Golems each turn, without having to worry about your opponent killing them with a single card. On the off chance your opponent has an enchantment kill spell, you might have a Turn Aside in your deck, as do some part blue golem decks.
Hmmmm if you go with necropede...why not combo with mimic vat, fume spitter, carnifex demon, maybe some core prowlers, and my personal favorite; blacker lotus that way you can rid yourself of all those useless tokens you get in millions of boosters ^^, TOTALLY "F EVERY BODY'S FACE" AWESOME!! perfect for group play maybe not two headed giant unless your partner was running a green deck with Melira, sylvok outcast and/or some Melira's keepers! ...endless possibilities... 0_0

In case it hasn't been mentioned already... use it with Ratchet Bomb. Each turn increment your Ratchet Bombs by one and add a new one. You can now have bombs that destroy any permanents of any casting cost. If you have to use one, simply ratchet up all of the ones below it and pump out a new one.
So many possibilities for this card. Can eventually become very evil with the right artifact choice.
I personally like imprinting a Myr Galvanizer to make the infinite mana combo more accessible, or a Myr Battlesphere. In fact, Mimic Vat does the same if the real battlesphere hits the grave. BEWARE MY ARMY OF GIANT MYR BALLS OF DEATH!!!!

If you prefer to keep your mana loop rolling, just imprint a 0 drop and watch out for those Pyroclasms buddy!
@traumat: All that Mycosynth Lattice does to the cards IN YOUR HAND (which are cards that aren't in play) is make them colorless. It does NOT make them into artifacts.

The art and lack of flavor text on this card leave too many unanswered questions. Why is Venser there? Why is he holding that woman back? Who is she? Where did she find a Staff of Domination to replicate? Is that Glistening Oil dripping from the Portal? What is going on?!
