like AEther Vial, you can put your creatures into play with this without having to worry about any color problems.

on top of this, there is an endless list of useful things you can do with imprinted creatures that provide you with cip effects or something similar every turn. a powerful weapon to create all kinds of interesting effects, like even soft-locks for example by using Chittering Rats.

Someone mentioned Chittering Rats? Screw that, if you're going for fun... how about Relentless Rats?!?!

broken combo: 2 soul foundries, 1 Darien, King of Kjeldor, and a Soul Warden. Imprint the soul warden on a foundry, then inprint Darien on a foundry.

begin pumping out Darien clones and Soul Wardens to create a combo that makes you incapable of taking damage.

could be fun to crank out meddling mages.

Meddling Mage is a good idea for a control deck along with mystic Snake.

Great way for me of fixing Alara's three-colour challenge. And it works amazingly with cards like Sprouting Thrinax that thrive off of abundance of themselves.

If you're feeling like a real jerk, go for Goblin Settler. Blow up a land every turn. While you're at it, throw a few Goblin Grenades in your deck.

The possibilities with this thing are endless, great card.

I have 3 of these in one of my decks. I use it with Chronozoa, Clone, and Body Double. Combine this with Paradox Haze and you got a deck that can crank out a lot of stuff really quickly or steal the best your opponent has to offer and beat them to death with it.

Imprint Meddling Mage! It turns Magic: The Gathering into Go Fish.
You: "Ummmmmmmmm... do you have any Terminates?"
You: "Go fish. Do you have any... lightning bolts?"
Etc., and so on and so forth.

Or...
You: "I imprint... Dryad Arbor!"
Opponent: "NNNNNOOOOO!!!!!"

Or...
You: "I imprint... Relentless Rats!"
Opponent: "Oh..."
You: "And play Power Artifact on it!"
Opponent: "I..."
You: "And Doubling Season!!!"
Opponent: "..."

Or...
You: "I imprint... Ornithopter!"
Opponent: "Oh, great, a free blocker every turn. Wonderful. Your mother would be so proud."
You: "And Doubling Season!"
Opponent: "Oh, sure, TWO free blockers every turn. Because you will defeat me with your mighty 0/2 flyers."
You: "And Clock of Omens!"
Opponent: "...Oh. I see what you did there."

I mainly use it in my artifact/scarecrow deck to clone a low-cost scarecrow every turn with Reaper King on the field, usually Lurebound Scarecrow or Heap Doll. It gets ridiculous pretty quick.

Put cards like doubleing season in and this then combine soul foundry for avenger of zendikar, rampaging baloths or verdant force for one word... Ouch

Hmmm...

Clone
Just so you can pick what creature to make each turn.

Any Ally
For *** and giggles.

Meddling Mage/Voidstone Gargoyle
To *** off your opponents. Use with Extract to get to know your opponent's decks.

Race Lords
For super big fatties

Ball Lightning
For super fatty damage.

Soul Warden and co.
For massive life

The list goes on.

TV, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that tokens "fade" when they leave play, but they still go to the zone they were sent to (like if they were bounced, or sent to the library, or put into a grave.) So indeed, it would work.

There is so much you could do with this!
TVsDB

My bad, tokens go into the graveyard and then are instantly removed from game. I read the full rule on the matter. Rock on Dross Scorpion!

@ darkfury that won't work for Darien, King of Kjeldor because he is a legendary so another copy would cause you to sacrifice both

You know, a simple combo would be using a classic Rat card that causes an opponent to discard.
"Oh, you just drew your card,
In response, get rid of it."
The first discard that can work at instant speeds.

Combos ridiculously well with Spore Frog if you're using it defensively, even more if you can get Soul Foundry untapped without waiting for your next untap step.

With a Chittering Rats imprinted, you could softlock your opponent. Just tap it at his upkeep, and have him send the card he drew back, and do it again and again and again. If he can't play it as an instant, you have the game right there. This could also work with Chimney Imp and a sacrifice enabler, possibly a Spawning Pit for the tokens.

it's been reprinted as prototype portal, but better because it works on artifacts
DacenOctavio

Wow. Astounding. A useful artifact that combos with every single good non-legend in the game. Ball Lightnings on demand. Massive dudes with Bushido, with flash essentially. Quickdraw pingers like Cunning Sparkmage. An army of Goblin Guides. This transcends the color barrier by being playable in every deck, literally. Very nice with Kozilek's Predator. To those who would use Ornithopter: Phyrexian Walker for extra trample damage absorption. Use with Doubling Season and Kozilek's Predator to create 2 3/3s and a small army of 8 0/1's that can be sac'd for even more mana.

@ Gilder_Bairn:
Your ornithopter-builder idea is great. Infinite devour fodder for Marrow Chomper!

For lols, Leveler maybe?

Ok, ok. The combo above, with Conspiracy (naming the creature type "Ally") and Halimar Excavator. I make thopters. Lots of Thopters. They're all Thopter Allies. Halimar Excavator mills and mills and mills.
Faildini
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@DacenOctavio: For free blockers, why not Shield Sphere over Phyrexian Walker?

So much you can do with this card. Example: imprint Magister Sphinx. Combo with Panoptic Mirror imprinted with Searing Wind or Hidetsugu's Second Rite. Kill a player every turn.

Obviously there are simpler and more effective combos for this card, but that's just the one that occured to me.

p.s.: Two of these, Glint Hawk on one, Ornithopter on the other. Why not throw in 4 Soul Wardens and 4 Soul's Attendants for 24 life a turn and a flying army?

this plus harabaz druid, voltaic construct and anything that gives your creatures flash = infinite mana by turn six.

armageddon via comet storm? sure.

hard casted progenitus? okay.

all your eldrazi in one turn? no problem.

myr rush? done.

My favorite is Balefire Liege. Sure, his ability doesn't trigger when a token comes into play, but they do pump each other up, and finally, when you've got six 12/14's on the field, casting a simple lightning helix suddenly deals 21 damage and heals 21.

Ichor Rats and some proliferate would make for a quick win. Might as well throw Voltaic Key in there as well.

Am I the only one who sees it?

Play this turn four with a Chimney Imp imprint.
On your opponent's upkeep, unless they lock your mana or constantly draw cards, they are locked and you have as many Chimney Imps as you want.

This card is so much fun. The possibilities are endless.

I used a deck where I imprint ornithopter on this bad boy.
I sacrifice the ornithopter for megatog.
Then Dross Scorpion untaps soul foundry.
Rinse and repeat over and over again for a scary huge megatog with trample.

you have arcbound ravager too for those orthocopters and maybe a disciple of the vault...

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Dryad Arbor is the first idea that I had, then I thought about Lotus Cobra (drop a few Primeval Titan and hard cast your win condition) Less-assured mana, but more constant/combo-y; also, you don't need to tap the cobras in order to benefit from the mana gain, so you could use them as chump blockers or extra attackers for an Overrun.

Alternatively, if you want to draw cards, imprint Taunting Elf and equip Infiltration Lens and watch the fun happen. Might help to have a Spellbook out though, lol.

This card's ludicrous potential reminds me of Isochron Scepter

Imprint Force of Savagery on this, with Death's Presence out. Eight +1/+1 counters for three mana at instant speed. Might also make for a good Evolve trigger. Even without Death's Presence, it's still "Pay 3 mana: Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control with less than 9 power."

I'm going to have to agree with a Clone variant being the ideal use for this in multiplayer, as the thing just has so many amazing interactions with all sorts of creatures. For sure one of my favorite cards.

My best use for it so far was a time I had cloned an opponent's Seedborn Muse with a Quicksilver Gargantuan, only to draw this card next turn. I Quickly dropped this imprinting a Sakashima's Student; with Seedborn Muse's ability, I get to untap the Soul Foundry on each player's turn, only to drop down another 7/7 Ninja Seedborn Muse which will allow more untaps on each player's turn... yeah, exponentially-growing army of ninja spirits. Good times.

Imprint Nacatl War-Pride and add a couple Power Artifacts to overrun your opponents. Add a Sundial of the Infinite for faster hilarity. If you want to get really ridiculous, throw in Mycosynth Lattice, Unwinding Clock, and Clock of Omens to make it even faster than that.

Alternatively, imprint Siege-Gang Commander with Skirk Prospector on the field. Apply a Power Artifact or two to get a net gain of one or three goblins per activation. Clock of Omens allows this one to go infinite, while Goblin Shenanigans adds a direct damage effect whenever it goes off.
