why do people like to use this card more than Pemmin's Aura to untap creatures? Pemmin's Aura does way more stuff for the same cost. Is it because Pemmin's Aura needs 2 blue and freed only needs one?

A card that's not used enough. Has a huge number of uses. I like them with grimoire thief/drowner of secrets. 1 mana for 4 card mill is pretty nice, especially if you have 6 or 7 mana to be spent on it.
Awesome card, put it on a wirewood channeler have a few elves out, then BANG infinite mana!!! then play a stream of life and your set!!!

With just this and Bloom Tender you can get infinite mana.

Pemmin's Aura is better on your own creatures, but Freed from the Real can lock down your opponent's creatures in a pinch. It really depends on your deck's strategy.
Me, I use a playset of both for tapping madness.

This card has a lot of potential for craziness, but after playing one in my own deck I also realized its sort of limited, you have to have a creature in play with a tap you want to use multiple times and the blue mana to do it. At worst its sort of like giving a creature vigilance, at best you can reuse somethings tap ability several times which can be very powerful. In all the games I've played with it so far I've only got real use out of it twice though. It is infamous for its infinite mana combos, bloom tender being one, and sachi, orochi leaf caller, together being another. I don't use infinite mana engines though, they aren't fun in my opinion, and they aren't fun for your opponent either, and I don't want to play a card if I'm not having fun doing it. If you simply want the untap instill energy allows you to do it for free but only once a turn.

Very useful card. At it's most simple it can give some extra utility to or lock down a choice creature. At it's best it can significantly empower a creature with a tapped ability like Merieke Ri Berit or Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. Can also give infinite mana through various combinations if one is into that.

Awesome for: 1. Getting Infinite mana! Everyone loves that 2. Locking down your opponent's creatures by tapping them. 3. Basically gives one of your creatures vigilance!

Interesting COMBO. I would have used other means of a Bloom Tender Combo but yours is far superior to mine.

303.4e An Aura’s controller is separate from the enchanted object’s controller; the two need not be the same. Changing control of the object doesn’t change control of the Aura, and vice versa. Only the Aura’s controller can activate its abilities. However, if the Aura grants an ability to the enchanted object (with “gains” or “has”), the enchanted object’s controller is the only one who can activate that ability.
Can anyone explain this?

@DarthKithkin:
You have a Fugitive Wizard enchanted with Freed from the Real and Quicksilver Dagger.
If an opponent gains control of your creature with Act of Treason, he can use the ability of the Dagger because it is "granted" to the creature ("Enchanted creature has..."). He can't use Freed from the Real because its ability is not depending on control of the enchanted creature. You still control both auras though.

Not sure why this is more popular than "I am Superman", but I suppose I've noticed that, too...both are versatile, though in different ways...it's probably just the more forgiving mana cost.

Does anyone else agree with me that this is the BEST COMMON EVAR?
attach onto bird of paradise. spend opponents turn tapping bird and untapping bird for entertainment while you wait for you turn. or while spells are on the stack, you use this in responce for hours. oppents give up after the 50000's time you do this.

All infinate combos aside, this can be a fun card besides. Why not Prodical Scorcerer, thornwind faeries, freed, pemmins, hightide, and maybe some cloud of faeries? Fun deck and probably pretty powerful too. Cant remember the name but theres some blue aura that lets you bounce a creature whenever enchanted creature does damage to the player too.

One blue to untap a creature. Who would have know that would be so broken.

Not infinite, but GOOD LORD this on Arcanis, the Omnipotent for an Ancestral Recall wherever, whenever.
This is combo making on easy mode. Any freed from the real references and combos should automatically be rated .5/5 because an 8 year old could think of that.
Ill rate the card .5/5 because I am sick of seeing all the dang references. Dies to doom blade yo, go back to school and learn about card advantage!
@Warrior man If you managed to unleash Arcanis the Omnipotent in a game, you don't need this card at all, pure win-more overkill. This is the kind of nonsense I am talking about people.
+ Gilder Bairn + any planeswalker = ultimate shenanigans (well, + Gilder Bairn and anything with counters). Try Ral Zarek for infinite turns easy, or whatever other abusive hijinks you can think of.

Now this card has won me plenty of games against REGULAR edh decks, when they went against my PAUPER edh deck, so cootos. but the reason im posting because this is going to turn inspired from BNG upside down. this paradise mantle + inspired creature = infinte inspired effects, now it doesnt even need the paradise mantle to be good with inspired, its just something funny. play this the turn after you play the sphinx. GOOD TIMES
