When I saw this in the visual spoiler I knew immediately it would be my favorite myr. Easy infinite mana combo with 2 of this and 1 Palladium Myr.

Have fun comboing, it will be interesting to see how the standard metagame turns out in Scars

In a dedicated myr deck, this plus Myr Matrix plus Door of Destinies or something could make Myr terrifying, brokenness aside.

This could've easily been printed as a rare, but I'm glad it wasn't.

Yes, turn 4 infinite mana is pretty obvious, but not broken. You need to draw two of them to begin with and someone is going to have a removal answer if they see what you're up to.

That's not to say I'm not excited about trying said combo.

If I can protect it enough to succeed then that's game.

If I don't have an answer to their removal then the myr are still strong in a late game where an opponent has already used their removal.

I love how infinite mana is mentioned countless times, yet even though the card's been printed in the same set as Genesis Wave and Exsanguinate, even...nothing.

The former is just hilarious. Put my entire deck into play? Sounds pretty awesome!

Dont forget Myr Propagator, just to keep the Myr theme going.

Most lords are 3 mana, but are very much sided with a particular colour. This is 3 colourless, so it instantly ranks higher in my opinion. Also, I have wanted a Myr deck for years, but have put it off. However, now that Mirrodin returns... it seems that the time has come :)

Remember when infinite mana combos took...skill? Remember when they took some thought? Me too...This is a spit in the face of old school combos. And at a time when there are things in standard like Comet Storm, Fireball, Exsanguinate, etc. winning with this will be a joke. Seems like Wizards wants to do redo with Scars the damage that was done with the first Mirrodin. The Scars of Mirrodin won't heal, it seems.

Myr Galvanizer, Palladium Myr, Splinter Twin.

Yes, I'd like to order infinite infinite/infinite hasted myrs, with a side of infinite mana.

I'm thinking,

Turn 1 Forest, Arbor Elf
Turn 2 Forest, use Elf for Palladium Myr
Turn 3 Forest, Double Galvanizers
Turn 4, Infinite Mana, mebbe X=50 Genesis Wave, loads of Eldrazi

That's 7 cards plus a delicate combo, so yeah - it's unlikely. But I like to dream about these things...

By the way there was a Type II infinite mana/myr combo with Myr Matrix and Mana Echoes, back in the day. Don't tell me this is any dumber than that.

and this, ladies and gentlemen, is proof that wotc does not playtest their expansions beforehand. we all saw the infinite mana combo (and we haven't even played with the cards yet!). i know this is a good card but i have to give it a .5 simply because it hurts the game so much.

What are they doing? Well why didn't you just ask!?

They're making infinite mana, producing infinite myr propagator copies, and doing infinite damage with myr battlesphere.
And yes, they're doing it very well indeed.

Yes, wotc realized this INF combo. They mentioned it briefly during preview week. But they also realized that just because it's winning via INF mana doesn't mean it's broken. After all this is VERY is easy to kill in scars. Plus you'll be getting this out turn 4 best case scenario, turn 5 or 6 more likely, w/ Simon sickness that means turn 5-7 inf mana. That seems to be about where most decks already finish the game. On top of all this, having inf mana doesn't automatically win you the game. You need something to use it for, and in the time it takes to get that ready on top off your combo prep time, you'll hav lost or thecombo will be crippled beyond repair. Then, you must also remember that if you want this to happen consistantly it will take up at least 12 card slots if not more. All in all, it's not even close to broken.

I can see how much he is hated. I had an opening hand with three of that creature. However, whenever I would play one, my opponent would Lightning Bolt it (or use a similar card). He destroyed all three of them, then I put a Myr Reservoir. I got one Galvanizer back in play, then he kills it again and use an enchant card to prevent me from returning the Galvanizer to my hand. When I got my second Myr Reservoir out, he was out of damage spells.

At least, all those 4 direct damage spells were not directed to me, it's a great bait. I never got to use the inifinite mana combo, but I still killed him with my Myr Battlesphere.

Anyway, I feel it would be so much more balanced if its ability would cost much more mana. This kind of ability should cost at least 5 mana, and considered the high ammount of mana Myrs, 5 mana is still generous.

I'm a bit surprised this wasn't printed as a Rare, given its lord-like properties, but it just means more fun for the Myr users. :D

No less than 5 stars from me! A myr lord that's uncommon and has infinite mana combo possibilities! Mr can finally become the tribe they were destined to be. I don't think this card is unfair BECAUSE the other tribes have so many rares to collect and myr don't have many rares at all so they need stuff like this to have a good fighting chance against...elves, merfolk, etc...

I bought/made a myr deck from my friend's boosterbox outcomes and i can say that its really really slow. It suffers horribly to counters/red bursts because you desperately NEED to drop at least 2-3 myrs (either nomral or palladium) to get the combo starting. And even then, you die to one DOJ.

Granted though, the deck I made is block-restricted to only SOM cards. Gen wave and Exsa-something are some of my finishers though the infi combo takes forever to pull off I'm better with having a huge mana and just casting or swinging wtih Golem Artisan.

@ClockworkSwrodfish: Well, Door of Destinies won't work with it FULLY, since you put a charge counter on the door for EACH spell of the chosen creature type...not like Coat of Arms.

But yeah...
Zarakstan is right...infinite loop!!

The infinite mana this can generate is easy to see (I see you over there, Helix Pinnacle), but we shouldn't forget the endless untapping ability, either. Play a couple of Darksteel Myrs, get your Galvanizer/Palladium pieces ready, and when he least expects it, load up your Myr Shotguns with Furystoke Giant. The infinite mana feeds the endless tapping and untapping, causing you to shoot up everything your opponent has- creatures, planeswalkers, life total... everything. The end result will leave your opponent a cold, lifeless crater perfect for crying in.

Myr Galvanizer time 2 + Mana Myr + Myr Mindservant = infinitely shuffle your deck, the plan is to play with people older, then hope you have more patients for deck shuffling, OR if you have a particularly patient opponent take it into the years and hope youre healthier

all i have to say is infinite myr, infinite mana, and no way you can do anything about it

if you get the myr for infinite mana i can make it where you cant do anything about it cant even use it

1 Mana Myr

Hello infinite damage over infinite targets.

I'm trying the above out with some blue control to prevent pesky burn spells destroying my Myr and such. Should be interesting :3

Too bad the infinite damage combo with the Battlesphere doesn't actually work. Bohoo.

The infinte mana combo sure does though. And though Palladiums are the best, you don't even really need them, just any two of the numerous one-ramp myr out there. Add the +1/+1 to all other Myr and you've got the stainless steel bolts that hold a great myr deck together. No reason not to run 4 of these in Myr Tribal.

And what is perhaps the best part, in my experience, is that your oppoents, when they see these, will often panic and go out of their way to eliminate any and all galvs you drop, which means they'll have nothing left to deal with your Battlespheres, Steel Overseers, or hell, even your Ichorclaws pumped up with Tempered Steels. Fantastic card.

One of my favorite Myr themed decks uses Sphinx of Magosi and Golem Artisan, drawing whatever i need, hasting everything, and mass swarming. I think the fastest Inf. Combo win was with Heavy Arbalest on turn 5.

I've found that blue tends to work best with the myr (to my dismay, as i'm mainly a white mage), as unsummon and steel sabotage work wonders for protection, as well as bouncing myr battlesphere.
