Certainly a great card. Just drop your Mox Opal on the first turn and bounce it with your Glint Hawk for an evasive 2/2 flyer.

Pretty sweet, playing a white artifact deck seems like a good idea now.

Is this better then Goblin Guide?

This is one of the stupidest cards printed in the last several years. It is literally FREE with Mox Opal. A free 2/2 flier is stupid.

Memnite, Ornithopter, Mox Opal, Glint Hawk. A simple, not improbable opening hand gives you three power on turn 1 without even accounting for lands. And god forbid you have more than one Glint Hawk in that opening hand with your Opal.

@ rillaan: Goblin Guide is red and has a drawback that doesn't tie it to a deck with an artifact theme. The two cards aren't comparable to one another.

Turn one: play ornithopter, play a plains, play this guy, bring ornithopter back to your hand, then play ornithopter again.

Say.....you had in your opening hand a plains, mox opal, ornithopter, memnite, glint hawk, glint hawk, quest for the holy relic.
Turn 1: Drop plains, play quest for the holy relic. Drop mox opal, ornithopter and memnite, triggering 2 quest counters on quest for the holy relic. Tap mox opal to play glint hawk and bounce back mox opal. 3 quest counters now. Play mox opal again and tap once again to play down the second glint hawk, bouncing back ornithopter/memnite and playing again. You now have 5 quest counters, so you sac. and search for argentum armor and attach it to glint hawk/ornithopter. This combo still works with 1 glint hawk and three 0 drop creatures however.

Ofc highly improbable and susceptible to condemn and unsummon if you're not starting, but you could essentially kill a land a turn and screw them up hard.
Bad a s s if you're lucky

umm this is guy is so friggin sick that it should of been a rare, the ability to return an artifact to your hand and get a 2/2 flyer for (W) is ridiculous, this card will see play in most formats, returning artifacts that draw cards on entry (ie. prophetic Prism) or any etb effects any permanent with liquimetal coating sounds pretty good to me, definitely a limited staple if anything else

Excellent limited card. Use to recharge a trigon type artifact for great success.

Synergy with Mox Opal has already been discussed. Consider bouncing Voltaic Key to give you even more untappy goodness.

Great birdie if you got right artifacts, which isn't too hard thing to do even in limited.

But he cant beat Storm Crow. Crow is Bird, and Bird in itself. Crow is above those arti-bounce shenanigans.

This is disgustingly good as a common. The "drawback" is easily negated or turned into an advantage with the right build. Its one of the cards I was really looking forward to playing, unfortunately I opened an entire box of boosters and didn't get a single one...

This card is bad.
Who would bother running a creature that isn't a token? This creature isn't good enough to be an enchantment!

T1: plains, quest for the holy relic, ornithopter/memnite, ornithopter/memnite
T2: plains, glint hawk, bounce the first ornithopter or memnite, then play it, then another glint hawk and bounce the same creature, play it again, activate the quest, search for argentum armor and attach it to the one 0 cmc guy you didn't bounce and attack with either a 7/7 vindicate on a stick or a 6/8 flying vindicate on a stick. No matter the deck your opponent is playing, they will be fighting a losing battle if you can start blowing up lands on your second turn.

You should also run stoneforge mystic in case something goes horribly wrong and unsummons your beatstick leaving you with a fancy suit of armor you would otherwise wait half the game to equip again.

This little fella' has won me so many games in Limited. In draft tourneys, a turn 1 Glint Hawk (when combined with memnite, mox opal or accorder's shield) can mean that your opponent will only eat your dust for the rest of the game. Glint Hawk is King of Limited non-infect.

@Carnophage_4ever - You opened up an entire box and didn't get one of these? At a common? That's gotta be the worst luck I've ever heard of.

On topic, the hawk rawks.

@Allmighty
I laugh at you. ur CHEAP little combo might work once, but guess what, i put my sideboard in. GG Bach. I bet 0 of the pro tour decks will invovle this.

And yes i face it all the time ur not creative.

Fine, the Holy Relic shenanigans people are describing here clearly aren't tournament material. It's hard to pull off the really good starting hand reliably, a deck built around it can stall easily if it isn't carefully built with backup plans in mind, and every color has one or two mana answers they could board in (offhand, there's Condemn, Journey to Nowhere, Unsummon, Doom Blade, Lightning Bolt (in response to sac quest), Crush (after sac quest), and Naturalize.)

But you know what? I don't care. Magic exists outside the pro tour circuit, and not every deck has to be built using the current most winning Standard decks as a baseline. This card lets you do something really cool, and sometimes that's enough.

Also, @TheWrathOfShane: Nobody here is claiming to have invented this build. I defy you to come up with a completely original deck idea that does something interesting and prove that nobody else thought of it. Oh, and it's spelled "your" or "you're", depending on context.

A very powerful birdie at a common rarity. Evasive flyer for early game, use it to trigger quest for the holy relic, use it mid game to recharge your trigons, and use it late game to bounce your myr battlesphere or spine of Ish Sah. Any card that is useful early, mid, or late game, is good in my book.

very good, not only in limited, but also in an aggressive metalcraft deck. there you can just bounce your ornithopter, memnite etc. and then you got a 2/2 flyer for W with no drawback!
btw. I think this should have been an uncommon

Very nice for a common, just picked some up in a buy one get three free deal. Some of the scenarios posted here are just a bit ridiculous. I'll be happy enough if I can tap one of my Mox Opals, get this guy in, then place the Opal back out.

Also works well with living weapon artifact equipment and cards like Mycosynth Wellspring.

I was playing a Hawkward deck at an FNM a while back...
Turn 1: Mox Opal, 2x Memnite. Tap opal for hawk, bouncing opal. repeat for entire playset.
His Turn 1: forest
Turn 2: plains, swing for 8 damage in the air
His Turn 2: island, Jace's Erasure
Turn 3:plains, swing
His Turn 3: forest, Rot Wolf
Turn 4: Tempered Steel (opponent was running a slow deck and all he had out was a Rot Wolf and a Jace's erasure), Swing for 14 damage, he blocks 3, that's 11 damage to his 4 life.

Next game, I got milled AND infected to death by turm 6...

Glint Hawk/Faerie Imposter deck has become my favorite to use. Being able to bounce ETB ability with this beefy 1 burger makes a combo/Johnny player proud. 5/5.

@Caarle.. "that's why they printed Mental Misstep"
thankfully they banned it right after printing, so the hawk is still safe

also good in equipment decks to send say a bonesplitter back to your hand and play it again to draw a card out of puresteel paladin
