This is a very decent card. Granted, I prefer Ichorclaw Myr, but this is still a very solid card. Superb pick in Limited.

I was running Leaden Myr before this but this looks very, very nice. A drop might be a bit much for aggro Infect decks though.

I'm going blue, black, this guy (for mana), corrupted conscience (for fun), hand of the praetors(for poison), a few infect creatures, alot of proliferate, and then I'll watch it happen; slowly, you'll die, one counter at a time. I'll watch you grimace as I add each drop, I'll tap the cards nice and slowly and see you reel and writhe until you bow to me as my new servent.
Now that I have that out of my system, I like to think that this guy is the start of a beautiful future for infect and poison, but there's still that nagging problem: Using control stratagies and poison to take down the enemy is (even with this guy) still too slow and risky as there aren't many good static defences around for blue and black. Infect and poison still seems to be in the hands of green pump spells.

Solid card for weenie infect. I like that he's colourless, perfect for 2 colour decks with lots of artefacts.

Four in my Arti-fect deck. Pumps out the Artifacts and then helps with the poison. All in all this little guy is a real team player, and never back talks.

One of the most versitle cards out there IMHO.
Need mana? Done.
Need early defesne? Done (people will be less likely to attack with their 2/2 if it suddenly becomes a 1/1 afterwards).
Wanna give your opponent a poison counter? Done.
Wanna give your oppoenent LOTS of poison counters? N/p. Give me a Galvanizer and/or a tempered steel and I'm your myr.
Just as good as Ichorclaw as it doesn't have the aggro but it does have the ramp for the same CC.

Nice to see more low costing infect guys. He can help you ramp as well.

IMO, nowhere near as good as ichorclaw myr or pretty much any low costing infect drop. the fact that it can accelerate is cool, but it's just not worthwhile in a deck where i'm trying to have all my cards cost 2 or less mana.
every infect deck I've played and played against is better using small drops like ichorclaw myr or blighted agents- cards that opponents won't block (or can't) and boosting the hell out of them with mutagenic / giant growths. i'd pick a glistener elf over this any day.
although, in limited, it is pretty good, i will admit.

I don't think I understand this guy. I'd never run it. Why have a sub-par support ability and a combat ability on a sub-par body? It's too weak for infect - compare to Ichorclaw or Glistening Elf, and the fact that it produces colorless for 2 CMC makes it the worst of the mana producers. You want to call it the best of both worlds, but in reality, I feel like it just falls too short on both ends to be considered versatile. Not horrible really, but I can't imagine too many scenarios where it'd be your best option.

I'm confused why people keep saying "pretty good in Limited". Doesn't ANYONE think it's a coincidence that Tempered Steel and Infect came out in the same set?
In Scars block this thing was absurd, a potent blocker and a Mana dork on turn 2 is nothing to sneeze at. Given he only gives you colorless mana but we are talking about an Artifact heavy block, so getting colorless mana is a boon not a bust. The colored Myrs gave mana but they couldnt efficiently block like this guy. Also in terms of Infect this guy is a 2/2 not a 1/1 due to infect taking 10 damage to win. The general rule of thumb being double every creature with infect's power giving you the value of the creature in terms of damage taken. Infect was a fun strategy to play and it gave magic players something to think about.

Mediocre Card in T2 infect Decks.

Unfortunately, infect is not lacking for 2 drops that are better with Blighted Agent, Plague Stinger, Necropede, etc.
