Pretty decent in Limited, especially if you're running Piston Sledge.

Considering the amount of artifact sacrifice combos in Mirrodin, this card should prove effective. I certainly don't think it's a 4/5 card though.

I'd say this deserves a 4 at least, if for no reason other than it will absolutely never sandbag in your hand unless you can never find 2 spare mana. Even if you don't draw any of your sac cards, the absolute worst thing that can happen to you from running this is you'll be playing with a 56 card deck (this is a good thing, mind you). Combined with aforementioned artifact sacks like Throne of Geth, it essentially gives you a decent effect for 0 cards, since it replaces itself and the card that sacrificed it. But I'd say the best use current, like Fanaticmogg said, is with Kuldotha Rebirth. It's an easy turn 3 tempo boost (3 1/1 goblins on turn 3 with two mana left floating = fabulous) that gives you a card advantage of 2. Since red is usually hard up to get draws, and since without tempo on its side Kuldotha Red is pretty much SOL, ramping up your board without, in effect, using any cards can easily be a game decider.

I love this card so much I want to hurt anyone who says something bad about it. If you have doubts about the greatness of the card, just replace any "Sacrifice an artifact" ability with "Draw a card", and you'll understand why it's so amazing.

Joking aside, after drawing twice by casting and sacrificing your Ichor Wellspring, the Salvage Scout can make it happen again while chump blocking :)

freakin awesome. one of my favorites from the set. i wanted it ever since i saw the besieged preview. a way to make oxida daredevil cool lol. card drawing in red? four please.
Honestly I think using this for metalcraft is a waste. There are probably other better targets your opponent can remove, meanwhile this just sits there being useless to you.

I've been pretty happy with it in a RG Kuldotha ramp deck... but being able to add that much card draw to any color deck and turning a sacrifice into a benefit is pretty nuts.
This is actually quite good! It's cheap, replaces itself, is good for getting metalcraft, and is quite comboable with artifact bouncers and saccers

This plus two Etherium Sculptors and an Esperzoa are a cool combo. I also love to sacrifice three of these to a Kuldotha Forgemaster or Imprint on a Prototype Portal. Coolness.

Mad good card. I run it in my casual artifact deck. There's so many ways to toss this around and draw cards. Master Transmuter and Voltaic Key alone let you draw what.. 3 cards for {1}{U}{U} if you change a Ornithopter or a Memnite or some other {0} cost artifact for it.
Want to draw two additional cards every single turn? Play two Ichor Wellsprings, Shrapnel Blast one, then get out a Goblin Welder, and keep swapping them.
