This thing is freaking dangerous. When you see him hit the table, kill him quick.
He makes Mark of Mutiny into a 3 mana "gain control of target creature permanently and put a +1/+1 counter on it."

Love the art on this guy. I also love the design--this is a quintessential Johnny card because of the way it's counterintuitive and requires creativity to use successfully. (And if you do use it successfully, the payout's pretty good--see above comments on Immortal Coil for example.)
As to whether it's actually playable, I have my doubts.
Oh hell yea this card is perfect with so many cards... just for start our new Abyssal Persecutor

When i saw this guy with an empty textbox in MaRo's article "The Revenge of Mons" (http://www.wizards.com/MagiC/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/69), i supposed him to exchange control or to be related to the number three because of his left hand. Well, it turned out that the latter suspicion wasn't even that wrong, seeing that we're having a reusable donation engine here. Johnny definitely approves. And giving permanents to your opponent has indeed a very red flavor. This lets the clássic mono-blue Delusions of Grandeur Donate deck have a red spash or even allows mono-red decks.
I could think of a quote this Goblin is going to say in such decks: "Here, have a Jinxed Choker."

I like the fact that he can give away detrimental permanents to make life a living hell for your opponent. I don't like, however, that in Standard, the only permanent he can give away to achieve this feat is the Immortal Coil. If he had come out a set earlier, I could foresee very mean decks being made using this and Colfenor's Plans, one of the best cards to give away, given the very harsh repercussions for owning the permanent, but no, this goblin came too late to be any use in standard.

Definitely a riot in multi-player, and a pretty handy tool for 2HG if your team-mate is running a deck low on blockers, like a mill deck. Or even give bazaar trader to your team-mate so they can give you their stuff. Not going to win games outside of a combo deck, but at the end of the day, who cares.

First the most important thing:
YOU CAN'T DONATE ENCHANTMENTS. No Illusion of Grandeur, no Colfenor's Plans! If you want to use this, try Puca's Mischief instead.
>>> And giving permanents to your opponent has indeed a very red flavor.<<< Since this is a tap effect and it's permanently, it's not a red ability in my opinion. This means, the red mage (or the red player) plans it. So for me, the best color for cards like Puca's Mischief or this one is black (in the middle between old blue and new red). It fits even better. - First, black has drawbacks on cards. Starting with simple ones: Exiled Boggart, losing life during upkeep or the new Demon. - Second, I think it would be a fantastic way to play black. You gain a bonus for a drawback later (selling your soul to a devil). Then, when the final day comes, black mages overcome the debt by using their new power and some tricks. Read the comic with Liliana Vess f.e. A veil from a devil... But also more storytelling options: Black mages sacrifice a captured virgin in a dark ritual to get out of the bargain. Even if you look at 'modern' black mages, they dump toxic trash in the woods, they foist faked evidence on someone. So they plan it and then use trash or a drawback to make a profit without any demur. - It would be fantastic to see others to struggle on their own cards.
So for me, it should have been a black card.

I think card is fine with read, though could be blue? Red does involve swipping cards (what I would play this card for) as the "chaos" element of red allows red mages to cause creatures to turn against their masters, aka gaining controll. So in a mono-red deck or red/blue this guy can really mess up your opponents plans. Everything from Dominus of Fealty to Mark of Mutiny...
For example: Play Avalanche Riders, destroy a land an opponent controls, swing if possible, then give to opponent. The opponent must pay the echo because A.R. hasn't been under his control since his last upkeep. The opponent doesn't have a red mana sitting around and must sac A.R. Endless Whispers kicks in and returns A.R. to your side of the field, you destroy another land that player controls. Pay the upkeep on your turn and repeat. Even if your opponent pays for the echo cost, that probably means they won't be able to cast much, if anything, so for your opponent loses a land and can't play any spells over 3 CMC. If you have a shock sitting around, your opponent is out 2 lands and his big spells for the turn for just .
The combo isn't quite quick enough in competitive, I think, but it's good fun in casual. You can exploit it even more by adding in Thick-Skinned Goblin so you never have to pay the echo cost yourself.

i do have a question tho, not quite sure but can i give him more then one mountain then? like next turn i untap the trader but the opponent still keeps the mountain right? and then can i tap the trader again so i can give him another one? Chaz: My group plays that change of control effects end when a player dies (the stuff they stole goes back to its previous controller). On the other hand, if the card was under the control of someone other than its owner since it entered the battlefield, it makes its way to the graveyard. I doubt these are official rules, but they seem to work fairly well and intuitively. UPDATE: The official rule appears to be that all permanents owned or controlled by a player who leaves the game are removed or exiled, respectively.

Her ability says "When Phage the Untouchable enters the battlefield, if you didn't cast it from your hand, you lose the game." If she is already on the battlefield then some one else gaining control of her wouldn't cause them to lose the game. There are other ways to get them to lose with Phage by giving her to them. Tap the Trader and target the Totem to yourself. Then, in response to this, swap the Totem with a permanent of your choice, preferably one of your opponent's of course. That swap resolves first, and you nab their permanent. Then this resolves after that, and your Totem magically returns to your control. Congrats. Any targetable permanent can now be yours. All for the low, low price of 5 mana of your choice.
The only thing you have to worry about is if said opponent has 5 mana lying around during your exchange, at which point he/she can activate the Totem and make a swap in between your shenanigans, before the Totem eventually makes it back to your control. War's Toll should help against that.

The only thing I'm not sure about here is if you can activate the ability 20 times and order the stack such that all the taps/untaps resolve before the artifact possession triggers from activating an ability without tap in the cost.
