Turn 1: Forest, Tinder Wall, sacrifice it for , cast this and be forever cursed by opponent. Turn 2: Have fun, with a little maniacal laughter for kicks.

Obviously easy to play in Myr Tribal. If you use a Mirrorworks for your Myr Battlesphere you can get a second for {2}, and without the mana source restriction.

Amazing turn 2-3 drop. Mediocre in Midgame. Horrible as Topdeck. Game Losing on a empty board.
Very narrow in which kind of decks it could fit. Elves hardly need more Beaters. And in any Grand Architect Deck this card is extremly vulnerable. Just to few (4x Grand Architect) means to cast it.
This may be a silly question, but I'm running a Myr deck at the moment with Palladium Myr, so this wouldn't be a problem at all to generate the mana needed for this guy. However, I'm also running Urza's Incubator in my deck, and if I were to name Myr as my creature type, I can still cast this guy for free correct? Since his mana cost would be zero, I wouldn't need to generate any mana to get him out, right?

I can't decide which one is better. Myr Superion has a cost of 2 while Myr Enforcer can be reducible. Early game, the Superion can come out on turn 2 or 3, but in mid game, the Enforcer can be free while leaving more mana for more options. In the end though, I think Myr Superion is an improvement over Myr Enforcer, both in stats and in terms of getting onto the battlefield.

4 stars for being a myr. I will get four just to have four so I can continue to be able to say that my myr collection is complete.
Terrifying if you can drop him on turn 2 or 3. Increasingly less terrifying as the game progresses, though, so he really is built more for Llanowar Elf than any of the mana myr. Personally, I still prefer Lodestone Myr or Myr Battlesphere as a heavy hitter.

My question is, with a Semblence Anvil or Urza's Incubator making him cost 0, does that mean you can cast him for free or that you can't cast him since you cannot spend mana from a creature on him. I read it to say you CAN cast him for free.

my inner vorthos says teh myr system can not last :(. eventually, the myr will be discovered and overrun. even if a large myr pod has 2-3 superions, they can't stand forever. eventually the mighty will fall.
Funniest way to get mana for this: Animate an Inkmoth Nexus then tap it to turn a non-creature mana into a creature mana. Okay, if you're out of Standard a Mutavault or something might be better...
While I definitely wouldn't put manlands in just for this, many manlands are playable by themselves so this is more of a bonus. This and Mutavault in a Myr tribal deck is just full of synergies.

I promised myself I wouldn't keep giving away all my ideas on these chat comments.. but since no one seems to be mentioning the obvious.. this is a red deck wins card.
You use priest of urabrask t2 or t3, equals a 2/1, and a 5/6, and enough mana to cast a forked bolt or a lightning bolt on the same turn. There you have it. Also grand architect, granted you need to have both, but that's a t3, 1/3 creature and 5/6 that can be pumped and produce mana because of the architect.
im going with a wurm-myr deck this is excellent for holding them off untill i get engulfing slagwurm out :)

This is perfect in a man-lands deck running Mishra's Factory, Mutavault, four of each Nexus, etc. You can activate the man-lands and then tap them for mana for Superion, and you can rescue Superion from the graveyard with Buried Ruin. Maybe 4x Myr Superion, 4x Juggernaut, 4x Lodestone Golem, and whatever else is needed to round out the deck (AnTzero's idea of Dryad Arbor seems great, maybe throw in four Crucible of Worlds?)
...Also, those Eldrazi spawn tokens are salivating all over this card.
...Also too: I predict this will be Birthing Pod's top choice for a 2cc search.

If you can get this to cost 0 mana (say with a Semblance Anvil) can you play it without using a creature since you don't have to actually pay any mana? Obviously this wouldn't help in getting it out on turn 2, but I'd take a 5/6 on turn 3 any day.
Also, how about using this with a Prototype Portal...pretty sweet to pump one of these out for 2 mana every turn.

This card is going to spike in price. Today is 9/23 at 50 cents each on MTGO. Heartless Summoning is going to make this card the real deal in tournament play in the next few months!
This guy is sorely underplayed and underrecognized. He has so much dang potential. The only issue I ever have is when I'm stuck with him in my hand and only one or two mana creatures on the field, which tends to only happen against mono-red burn. I think the biggest satisfaction, though, is that your opponent never expects it. "Oh you're playing mana ramp, alright, Llanowar and Birds, whatever. Wait. What the heck is a Myr Superion doing on the field?"
Dropping this guy turn 3 (T1: Land > Birds, Llanowar, Pilgrim; T2: Another ramp creature; T3: This guy) is a huge advantage that they almost never expect. You can start the big beats really fast and the uneven 5/6 makes him an especially good early blocker. Sadly, he doesn't beat Titans. :( It's okay, though, that's what countering/removal is for. :)

First thought is, of course, that it is made for mana myr, but quickly your mind thinks "ELVES!" But then you think, what about something faster? What about something that dosn't have to tap? What about... Eldrazi spawn?
1: mountain, Rite of flame or simian spirit guide, Spawning breath 2: brood birthing, sac 4, two myr superion.
Then you think "why pay mana? Lower the cost to 0!" Heartless summoning (as is the popular comment) or semblance anvil,

Ok there's a lot of hate surrounding this card just because alot of people expect it to come out in turn two and win the game. Myr Superion is an excellent support card, but it needs to be played as part of a strategy, since on its own it will be a dead card on your hand.
You'll need Palladium Myr and Semblance Anvil to get him into play (In an artifact themed, standard deck) and he can come out around turn 3 or 4. This will bring you a 5/6 body (vanilla on its own) but together with a Galvanizer Myr or Tampered steel in play, thats a 6/7 or 7/8 in play for 2 mana or for free! Even if he comes into play late he's still a powerful creature for almost no cost. Now if you include a couple of Myr Reservoir, you can also bring him back from the graveyard and into play for cheap, giving you a beast of a Myr that will not stay put down.
Sure he can be exiled, and he can be chump blocked, there's no such thing as a perfect strategy but what people are missing is that this is not a stand alone game ender, but his a very big, cheap face stomper that's part of a bigger Myr army.
Llanowar Elves is still the best thing I can think of. It's too easy. Any deck that just happens to have a Llanowar Elves AND/OR a Birds of Paradise can have this guy 'Just Because I Can', rather than trying to focus around him. Kind of like, worst case scenario, I would side Ornithopters into Any Given Deck that had a metagame where it REALLY needed to block fliers.
Of course, focusing on this guy with Heartless Summoning or Palladium Myrs for the tribal route isn't BAD, but I prefer it if I can as many of my cards as possible to be 'Because I Can' rather than 'Because I Have To'. It gives you feedom to use only the best in the rest of the deck, so that a well-timed counterspell, or some other 'Oh NOES' card doesn't shut down your entire deck.
You know what you don't want? Having four of this in your deck, and being unable to cast him because, in your deck, ONLY the Heartless Summonings can do it. An Elf Deck, though? You will NEVER not have Creature-mana.
So many times I've seen tournament reports claim that Deck X 'just loses' to CARD X, or Deck Z. I want to be ready for Card X and Deck Z, because 'Just Losing' to Naturalize isn't something I want to expose myself to.
Of course, if you put Grand Architect and Heartless Summoning together, that's pretty good- but Elves still generate even more Creature-mana than that, and can stay mono-colored. But even though that might happen to be 'the right cards at the right time' to make Superion good, and those colors happen to open you to other good cards, it still seems like doing it that way is allowing one card to warp your deck design over-much and getting away with because of Wurmcoil Engine doesn't feel like it's teaching good deck building rules to me.
the Elf deck is more consistent and flexible in just throwing a Superion in, and I thought it was important to note that that kind of freedom in deck building is really valuable.
Lastly, I find it impressive and very amusing that Sol Ring is almost worthless in a deck that wants to cast this. (I say almost, because there are probably some other cards that cost 2 or more colorless mana in your deck, and it's really hard to make Sol Ring actually worthless)
