shock is dead long live the bolt. as for this cards its brillant and perfectly balanced with lighting bolt. in scars 5 will be the new 'safe' toughness

Very brilliant. I see some burn players running into a trap by trying to get their burn decks a splash of artifacts heh. BUT maybe there will be a brilliant burn player that finds some artifacts that will flow with red and somehow incorporate this card... hmm

This is a fantastic spell. Shock never was actually a bad card, but if metalcraft is activated, this makes the already-ridiculous Lightning Bolt look bad.

Great card, why wasn't more Metalcraft this fun?
The basic formula I've found is 4 of these, 2 Bolts, 2 Arc Trail. Insert whatever artifact theme you desire. It gives you a deck with fantastically flexible burn.
After saying all that...maybe I should move my Grindclock & contagion clasp idea out of blue & into red.

Just remember- adding artifacts to burn so you can incorporate this will just slow them down. Adding this piece of burn to artifact decks however will give you a super lightning bolt and should be done whenever colors permit it.

From Spike's perspective, this is a wonderful card. Forcing you to choose between this and lightning bolt adds much to the game. Forcing you to figure out how few artifacts you can afford to put in a deck? Nice. Whereas lightning bolt was a no brainer, this makes deck building more fun.
