I use this more often to counter counterspells in mono red than copy my own spells.

Opponent is at 11, you're at two. They have an army of 2/2 Flyers out with Talrand and his invocation. Then this happens:

You: "Tap 5 to play Thundermaw Hellkite"
Opponent: "Haha you fool, Rewind that summa*****. it's over!"
You: "Reverbertate your Rewind, countering your rewind and untapping 4 land. 5 to the face with Thundermaw"
Opponent: Alright, nifty move smart-guy, but you still die next turn."
You: "No. Searing Spear x2"
Opponent: *flips table*

One could argue that Dual Casting is superior for its cost and multiple uses, but the ability to copy any spell on the stack (not just yours) at any instant really makes this card shine. It can mitigate counterspells, even the battlefield after an Increasing Devotion (swing it in your favor if you have Fervor or one of those nice red instants that pumps all your creatures for the turn), or just straight up double-Lightning Bolt your opponent in the face. A very versatile card; 5/5.

newbie question.

if my opponent cast's mind sculpt on me and i play reverberate on mind sculpt, i choose him as my target.

do we both discard 7 cards or just him?

@BenjiRandy: both of you mill 7.

I'm also new to the game as well and I would like to know if once this card has copied another card, am I able to use it in the next turn or do I have to use it right away?

@jakeblack1

The copy is immediatedly put on the stack. It does not go on your hand. You copy a spell on the stack, put it on the stack, and Reverberate goes to the graveyard. Oddly enough, the copied version will resolve first, so it is great for countering counterspells like manaleaks.

@Sessy:

Why didn't your opponent block the Hellkite with his "army" of 2/2 flying creatures? Even if they were all tapped he would have gotten one from Talrand from rewind he cast (it doesn't need to resolve to get the token). He only needed a single 2/2 flyer to kill you on the next turn anyway.

As for the card, excellent way to "counter" your opponents instants and sorceries by copying them so you get the effect as well, balancing out to some extent. Or you can copy your own spell for some epic combo, or just a simple Lightning Bolt for that extra damage. Note, A reverberated Time Stretch is gonna flip some tables ;)

There are so many situations that a pro like me can make good use of this spell.

so, what happens if im holding one Cackling Flames, and one of these, can i copy the cackling flames before it resolves, and get double hellbent?

@CorkBulb: The Thundermaw Hellkite was at the bottom of the stack, and thus Talrand, Sky Summoner's ability triggers before the Rewind goes off, which is before the Hellkite enters the battlefield. Even if he gets a new Drake token, it's tapped and damaged by the Hellkite's ability.

This card is one of my absolute favorite underrated cards to run for 2 big reasons. 1 no one sees it coming, and 2 its the closest thing to countermagic that red has.

Everyone ive spoken to in the past about this card has compared it to Increasing Vengeance, decided that it was made inferior by IV and ended the conversation at that. To the people comparing this card to IV i have some advice read both again, and if youve read them both and still dont see what i mean i will give you a hint, IV has 2 little words in its de***ion that SEVERELY limit its capabilities and give reverberate a significant edge. "You control" Reverberate lacks these words and can therefore copy ANY sorcery or instant spell regaurdless of the spells controller. Guess what, your red / Red/black deck just learned a myriad of new tricks that include (but are not limited to) countermagic, enchantment destruction, mill, etc etc etc.

In all honesty i could go on for days about how severely underrated this card is, and how crucial it is to all mono red, and Red/black decks, but i think ive made my point

My friends (hereafter referred to as D and M) and I were playing a three-person game and D got a Stuffy Doll out and was using it to keep M's attackers at bay.

My deck only used one large attacker at a time so I didn't want to just obliterate M to swing into the doll again the next turn. Neither M nor I had an answer to the doll in our decks, but he made a truce not to attack me if I could get rid of the doll.

The next turn D cast Revoke Existence on one of M's equipments and I Reverberated it onto the doll.

Reverberate: giving your red deck answers you didn't know it needed since M11.

This card gives me hope that I can still make Grixis control work in Innistrad-RTR standard. There's no telling how many times I've copied an opponent's Sphinx's Revelation or one of my own Slaughter Games to deal with all of the roadblocks floating around right now.

"Does it resolve?"
"Yes, but...me too."

Last Wednesday I was participating in a modern tournament down at my local card shop. I was running a Goblin deck, my opponent was running tamagoyph(?) with snapcaster mages and and other graveyard shenanigans. He even had aether vials down at the start.
I got him down to 3 life and i was at 5. He wiped the board. im my hand i have reverberate. I draw Koth of the Hammer. I cast him and my opponent casts cryptic command. I reverberate it countering the command and drawing me a lightning bolt. which i threw at his face for the win.

No, you have to select a target before you cast this. Though you could cast a second reverberate targeting the first one, getting an infinite loop of copies. Thats different from casting spells so its not going to help grapeshot or dragon's claw.

Can somebody please answer this question.

We know copies of spells increased by X amt are copied exactly, but what about spells pumped by the number of lands you control.

If a spell does damage based on the number of swamps an opponent controls (not pumped by X) and you control no swamps, but apply reverberate. Will it do the amount of damage your opponent was going to do to you or 0 damage?

The amusing thing about this card? Fork, the card it's based on, is on the reserved list. The only reason this card was allowed to see print was because it didn't make the copy red, which keeps it from being a functional reprint.

In other words, this card is basically R&D giving the finger to the reserved list. Thank goodness; the fact that we went without Fork for so long because of stupid collectors is unbelievably annoying.

Use Wort, the Raidmother to get triple spell, or even quadruple if you use conspire the spell you targeted in the first place

Am I the only one who gets kicks out of Reverberating Browbeats? Come on red lovers, "You got three choices, take 10 damage for 5 mana, or I draw 6 cards for 5 mana, or take 5 damage and I draw 3 cards for 5 mana, Decisions, decisions..."
Browbeat is voted by my brother and I as the best red card in the game, but this is a VERY close second!

I fell in love with this card the instant I saw it in my first pack of m13. It's just one of those cards I always have a use for. Eye for an eye your opponent when they play removal, protect your cards from counters, or double your firepower for the turn. Good stuff.

@TheWrathofShane:

It's also impossible to end unless someone counters one of the copies. Meaning for and two cards in hand, you can make the game a draw.

A cheap two card combo that makes you not lose on turn 4? It's worth something anyway.

You're playing an Izzet deck. You have Guttersnipe and Melek, Izzet paragon on the field. You play Lava Axe Reverbrate is on top of your library You cast Reverbrate from the top of your deck, copying Lava Axe, copy Reverbrate to Reverbrate from Melek's effect.... lava axe = 5 dmg, copied lave axe = 5, re-copied lava axe = 5, and 2 Reverbrate copies makes Guttersnipe do 10 dmg...overkill :D

@CorkBulb: Someone else responded to you about the Hellkite/army of tokens situation, but I wanted to respond to your Time Stretch comment.

Time Stretches grant extra turns in the reverse order of their resolution. So if you resolve a Time Stretch, then I resolve a Time Stretch, I get the extra turns before you do.

So if I cast Time Stretch, then you Reverberate it, yours resolves first, then mine resolves, and I still get the two extra turns before you do, and chances are, I'm going to win before you ever see those two extra turns.

Now, a Redirected Time Stretch is gonna flip some tables.

fwiw, this card is basically on the reserve list, hoard your copies while you can.
