@ thrallallmighty - It becomes a 77 creature that makes 2/2 creatures that becomes 0/0 and die... also in the Rulings it says the 5 artifact lands become 0/0 and die xD there's six o.O

Poor ornithopter......

What?! Did anyone actually read the card?! It specifies noncreature artifacts. Ornithopter is unaffected, and so is Memnite and artifact creature tokens, such as those produced by The Hive.

Aside from the obvious misread by some of the other people posting here...

If I mix this with mycosynth golem and give all my artifact creatures affinity do my artifacts get affinity as well?

Why did they put this card in the Assemble the Doomsday Machine deck? It kills Everflowing Chalice and Lightning Greaves, two extremely important non-creature artifacts in the deck. I replaced this with a Tower Gargoyle and have yet to regret it.

Combine this and Master Transmuter (also in Assembling the Doomsday Machine) with Gleemax and attack for massive damage. Then assist Gleemax with something like Distortion Strike and not even the scouter will want to shout about its power level or how screwed your opponent will be.

@Angelbaka:

Sadly, no. Your artifacts are not affected by the golem's affinity-granting ability because they are not artifact creatures until they are already in play (where they then become creatures).

Use this card with Mycosynth Lattice and Master of Etherium to destroy all your opponents lands by turning them into 0/0 creatures...and forget Terra Eternal because if they have a toughness of 0 they're destroyed anyway. This is the kind of stuff I love about this game lol

Artscrafter,

Very neat idea! However the Mindslaver tokens that are popped out by Mimic Vat will have a converted mana cost of 0 instead of 6 because they are tokens. As such, the token will enter play as a 0/0 creature (because of March of the Machines) and will immediately be put into the graveyard as a state-based effect. There are tonnes of crazy combos with this card but i think one of the simplest and most efficient early game is with Darksteel Ingot; a 3/3 indestructible creature that can tap for mana for {3}? Yes please!

I love the way that cards can be totally screwed around all the others and made into some freakish Gordian Knot, making the card into something it was never meant to be. This one, for example, could be combined with Mycosynth Lattice and Master of Etherium to completely mana-strangle your opponents while leaving you unscathed. And how that can be built upon to give some very interesting abilities to Experiment Kraj. It's truly wonderful.

Interesting concept with Living Weapon. It was "alive" before, but the equipment came to life and it's old part died. It may be bigger than the original, but it won't get additonal bonuses like flying or reach :(

@TCollins: No, they'll have their normal CMC. Copies copy EVERYTHING about a card including name, mana cost, and even expansion symbol. So no worries there.

So with this in play, could I potentially Soul Foundry a Soul Foundry?

This has some interesting effects with some of the stuff in Scars.
For one thing, it gives Mimic Vat all the versatility of Prototype Portal as long as you can play and sac the artifact you want to imprint.

Imagine this play.
Turn 1: Island.
Turn 2: Island, Etherium Sculptor
Turn 3: Island, Grand Architect
Turn 4: Tap the sculptor, architect, and 3 lands to play Mindslaver and Mimic Vat. (Optionally drop an island and hold for Turn Aside vs. removal.)
Turn 5: Play a land if you didn't on turn 4. Play March of the Machines. Tap the sculptor and the architect for mana, use it to pop the Mindslaver. Imprint it to Mimic Vat.
Turn 6+: Solitaire mode!

(Aside: I know you can just use Prototype Portal to recur Mindslaver, but this lets you do an activation a turn for 7 instead of 10, and if you happen to find a Training Grounds this makes it cost 3.)

@tcollins: Normally, tokens would have a CMC of 0. But if a token is a copy of another object, it has the CMC of the copied object because mana cost is a copiable value. So token copies of Mindslaver will have a CMC of 6 and thus be 6/6 creatures with this out until you pop them.

@heavilymedicated: You couldn't imprint Soul Foundry onto Soul Foundry because that specifically looks for a "creature card" in your hand. March doesn't change the types of cards that aren't on the battlefield. You can, however, imprint one Prototype Portal onto another (without needing March to do it) or imprint a Soul Foundry onto a Portal.

Use with Liquimetal Coating to kill lands for free.
Add Experiment Kraj to steal the activated abilities of ANYTHING. Yes, planeswalkers included.

For those talking about the Mycosynth Lattice and Master of Etherium combo for a one-sided Armageddon, why not just run the Lattice with Karn, Silver Golem. Yeah, you have to use a few mana to activate Karn's ability, but you cut it from a 3-card combo to just 2. You don't even need to run blue that way.

Sure, if you do it the first way you could use all three to wipe your opponent's lands and then swing with your lands as 1/1s, but wouldn't it be better just to add Tezzeret the Seeker to the Karn/Lattice combo and make all your lands (again, with three cards) 5/5s instead?

Don't get me wrong; this is a very good card, although you need to work to protect your Seat of the Synod/Everflowing Chalice/Chimeric Mass etc. if you're running those. But combos that force you to sit on some of the cards until you get the right draw are usually best avoided, especially when you can do the same thing by other (easier) means.

Liquimetal Coating makes this card very evil. Hope your deck plays well under 4 lands, and you can keep dropping them every turn...

Absolutely brutal with Arcum Dagsson, start turning your opponents creatures into artifacts and destroy them, then they have the choice to bring out more artifacts for you to target.

Time to get creative! What's so awesome about this card is how it can create vastly different combos.

I run it in a deck where I use it with stuff like Liquimetal Coating and Dross Scorpion to wipe out opponents' lands amongst other things. Quick way to lose friends too.

A buddy of mine uses it in an entirely different deck where he turns things like Spine of Ish Sah into massive creatures as well as using Training Grounds and Heartstone to lower the cost on activated abilities of his animated artifacts so he can do stuff like simply tap Tower of Murmurs to deck you out in a few turns.

Wait a minute, correct me if I am wrong, but lands have converted mana cost 0, right? So if you used Liquidmetal Coating to turn an enemy's land into an artifact, wouldn't it be a 0/0, and therefore instantly die?

Voltaic Key would make that extremely fun. I have to try it.

This card allows for some really weird moments. One time, I killed a Crucible of Worlds with a Darksteel Ingot. Don't even try to think about it.

That must suck if you're controlling Moxen, unless you happen to have a Master of Trolli- I mean a Master of Etherium out.
