Good because it's colorless removal that actually does something, as opposed to Moonglove Extract.

A permanent answer to almost any creature threat that fits into any deck. No more reanimation and few things have protection from artifacts. It's a bit costly though.

Costly, but useful. Colorless spot removal gives a lot more options to a lot of decks that never could have considered it before.

This card also has a mental effect on the opponent, knowing that each turn makes it that much more important to have to deal with.

With Willbender you could exile two creatures. for the cost of 5, and still have Brittle Effigy to exile a third

@Sir_Kaeru i don't think so since exile it self is a part of cost to activate the ability you won't be able to Willbender it

Meh. Should be uncommon. Other than that, this is actually really, really good. It will most likely see quite a few sideboards. Good bye, Emrakul. We knew thee well. A little too well. Ummm...willbender doesn't copy spells. Just redirects them. And it wouldn't save this thing from being exiled.

It should be uncommon or at least get rid of the exile cost. Maybe they can make it's CMC 2? As it is, I don't like having a one use artifact that costs so much to activate.

Nice to keep the cost in the activate‚ so destroy artifact doesn't ruin a ton of effort.

This card is fairly costly for a removal spell, but on the other hand, it is extremely flexible and able to go into any deck, regardless of color (monogreen decks just got a solid creature removal spell!)

@ Sir_Kaeru: No, you can't change the effect on itself because its not targeting itself, exiling itself is part of its activation cost.
People say costly but I think it's least costly thing you can use, in the sense that you only pay 1 initially, and then four at some point on your opponents turn when you have the mana available. I think it's great for control, it stays out there on the field to take out whatever surprise your opponent might toss out. Also just plain takes care of a lot of the current threats, namely emrakul, vengevine, mitotic slime, and the titans. At worst you use it to get rid of your opponents annoying assembling skeletons. You can also run it in every color so now white isn't the only color with exiling, and red could really use exiling since rdw decks can't compete with eldrazi or vengevine, and it also gets rid of the ever mentioned baneslayer angel.
My one complaint is I want it to not be exiled but go to graveyard so I can snap it back into play with things like sun titan or nature's spiral, but then again that might be overpowered.

at first this looked pretty bad.. but it's necessary. there needs to be some way to take care of indestructible creatures for colors other than white or black. fairly costed as well. 5 total mana to get rid of huge threats, i'll take it. plus, it's better than mystifying maze.
@Donovan_Fabian: having Brittle Effigy being sacrificed instead of exiled as part of its activation cost would definitely be of some use with Sun Titan... not necessarily overpowered, but still pretty powerful. Still, exiling or not, being able to find this with Trinket Mage (Redhaiku) could prove to be very useful.

This card is seriously amazing. I have a control deck with enlightened tutor, and I can pretty much pull anything I need out of my deck. If I haven't drawn Isochron Scepter and Counterspell or Path to Exile, I can just get Brittle effigy to get rid of that pesky creature. Or I can leave it out just chillin, making my opponent hesitate to play his creatures. I love messing with ppls heads.

And with the addition of Prototype Portal, the exile cost is suddenly irrelevant.
Well... Bar stuff like Prototype Portal, there's always Pull From Eternity if you splash white.

5 mana for the death of one creator seems a little overpriced but blue and green lack any good kill spells so I guess this is good for them I will probably never use this as I tend to run mono white decks but a couple of my friends might like it.

I use this card in my mono red deck because lightning bolts only kill creatures with toughness 3 or less...so brittle effigy is a way for red to kill bigger creatures! I LIKE IT!

super useful card. yeah it's pricey to do the actual exiling but there is no drawback. and it's casting cost of 1 allows you to find it with trinket mage.
I use this not only in artifact decks but mono blue or green which lacks a variety of good removal.

TheWrathOfShane, this is a 4 star card in my book. It can't win you the game, it can just keep you from losing. Now, I'm not saying it isn't fantastic, it is, but it's not a five star. It might be 4.5, even.

@NeedADispenserHere: That is literally the reason I have this guy in a few of my decks. The moment I see those Eldrazi Spawn coming I start searching my library for this guy if I can.
Sort of like a quicker Amulet of Unmaking with the casting cost fixed, but more focused. A bit specific I suppose, but when you need it MAN do you need it.

-Pros -It gives any color including green and blue colorless removal. -Its a one drop -When its on the field your opponents might not drop there important creatures, it could stall them for a while. Tempo and time is a very good thing to have in magic, and you get this for 1 mana. -Can take out almost any creature, including indestructible. Only thing that stops this is shroud. Could be a good sideboard option for any deck in case you run up against lets say Palace Guard Indestructibility combo or something similar. -Is an artifact an easily tutor able with things like Fabricate. Also in an artifact deck the one drop factor helps allot, as this easily adds to your artifact count.
-Cons -Costs 4 to activate. Personally i think 4 is more then fair for a colorless exile effect. Compare with Ghostfire -You have to exile it as part of the activation cost. I Believe this also makes it fair and flavorful, otherwise it could be abused with artifact graveyard fetch cards.
The only downside to this is that they made it fair, and anyone who rates this under a 5 you can post and give me a logical reason why.
