7 for 2 Gilded Lotus? Given that you can tap them right away, the whole ordeal really only costs you 1 mana. Awesome.

No one mentioned Living Weapon yet. Mirrorworks is also quite fun to increase Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas's ultimate. I like the Ichor Wellspring Venser combo, and Knowledge Pool is quite absurd with this as well.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Blightsteel Colossus+This. I mean you cheat him out somehow (I like the Elvish Piper method) and then pay 2, oh, ok, cool, now I have two. Sure, easy to deal with, but it also means any other freaking artifact card actually becomes two! Also, yes, I am going to mention Doubling Season, because then it would be 3 Blightsteels. Also, any of the Platinum creatures, or equipment... Sure, it is an expensive card to play, but thankfully it is an artifact, and easy to cheat out!

Could you pay 2 to copy a Mishra's Factory when it turns in to a 2/2 Artifact Creature?

I know the land is on the Battlefield, but wasn't sure how it would work when it changes =|

If this ever happens to me I will be ecstatic.

Mirrorworks in play, then Shape Anew your Inkmoth Nexus or something and fetch a Blightsteel Colossus with 2 mana to spare...

Like it's been said, this card has an abusable aura about it.

@PsychicAvatar - No, it says when it enters the battlefield. Mishra factory has to have already been in play to activate it's ability.

I'm getting a set of these cards, it's going to make my artifact deck so much more hated. I'm thinking a Master Transmuter to return an artifact to my hand and recast it to copy it again. With Mishra out I search my library for another one and copy it too... Don't have Urza's armor in the deck but I might put it in for sick dmg prevention.

If there is two mirrorworks out, I could create two copies if I have 4 mana, yes?

Question, since rulings aren't posted yet (or at least I can't see them). Does this ability stack if you were to have more than one of these out at the same time? (e.g.: 2 Mirrorworks + 1 Blightsteel Colossus = 1 BSC and 2 tokens of it?) If I'm reading the text right, then I believe it should be that way. Because it would hit to both Mirrorworks separately and make a token off of both right? If so that would be evil to use in a multiplayer deck.

Ok, after using this card a bit and thinking over what it has to offer, there are a couple things I would like to point out, obvious or not I would like to say them nonetheless.
Artifact land: This makes it so you can get 2 land out easily.
Affinity: This allows you to multiply the cards on your field to get affinity cards out faster and at times for nothing.
Grand Architect: This card allows you to use any of your artifact creatures to pop this affect for just one blue mana.
Doubling season: I don't usually see artifacts being used with green at this level, but yes, this just SCREAMS use me.
Collossus: whether you use this with Blightsteel or Darksteel, you now are gaining use of a giant 11/11 creature with a copy of itself that can trample and says I can't die, awesome.
X/X artifact creatures: With Darksteel Juggernaut in this set, and master of etherium useable in extended, this is cause for concern, cause those 2 cards can get RIDICULOUSLY huge with this in play and running right.
The last part of this has no real title, and that is just that there are artifacts that your opponent NEVER wants to see too many of, such as lodestone golem, golem foundry, any of the swords; and there are the ones you want to see Plenty of, such as the cards just mentioned, maybe another steel hellkite, etherium sculpter, things like that. In my opinion, if this card is used right it is abhorrently overpowered, but the cost of 2 to copy is something that limits it somewhat, hopefully helping in the end.

You guys seem to be largely mistaking this for copying creatures. Not all of you, but look:

Non-token artifact.
Enters the Battlefield.

This card is going to be a heck of a lot of fun in Casual.

Artifact lands, support artifacts, living weapon, borderposts from Alara, and best of all:

Master Transmuter. Pay a blue, two colorless and tap Transmuter to bounce one artifact up and put down one from your hand and a token copy.

Next turn bounce the non-token version up into your hand for later use if you need more of utility artifacts like Sylvok Replica

I'm thinking about making an agressive deck that usesSemblance anvil and all of the mana myr and This. With the anvil the myr are free to play so i will need a way of replenishing my hand probly with the new blue Zenith then use all that mana to do something crazy. aNY IDEAS?

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@ lyle685 I'm using a similar deck, with blue sun's zenith as my win. You can target your opponent with it, force them to draw. Just name any number bigger than their total cards in deck, and when they draw a card that isn't there they lose. Toss in a few counter spells to be safe and you're good to go.

I put this in my Assembling the Doomsday Machine archenemy deck.

I had a Voltaic Key sitting out when I played this, my friends had never seen the card before. I proceeded to next turn to play Master Transmuter, copying it. At the end of their turns (they were playing burn) I asked if they had not anything they wanted to play on the Transmuter twins...they did not. I admit, I chuckled.

Next turn I spun back a Voltaic Key after tapping it on the stack for MT to untap, and spun out Duplicant, copying it to wipe out 2 creatures. Then did the same with Spine of Ish Sah, then put both back to my hand to rinse and repeat.

Twas the only time I forced a Archenemy concession with all the original players still in the game. Thanks Mirrorworks! I can die happy now.

I use this card in my myr deck, with the infinite mana of galvanizers and enough mana myr and four of these in my hand... Well I play a mirrorworks, now two, now four, and now eight. :) 15 mirrorworks in total. Myr Battlesphere time.

In extended, works well with Master Transmuter. Nothing wrong with spending 3 mana to double an awesome artifact once per turn.

In standard, would be interested to see if someone could make it work with Batterskull. Actually, Batterskull + Stoneforge Mystic is already a good combo; throwing this into the mix means that for 7 mana (3 to return Batterskull to hand, 2 from Mystic to put it back out, 2 to copy it) you get a token 4/4 vig lifelink, as well as the original creature still intact.

It's pretty awesome that you duplicate the artifact when it enters the battlefield rather than copying the spell only when you cast it. It makes for loads more combo potential.

Again,
Right about now I am feeling very very disapointed in the magic community, the biggset nuke combo since darksteel forge and worldslayer, however no-one sees it? It is a simple two card combo with infinte possibilities. Simple: Elspeth Tirel and Mirrorworks.

Elspeth's nuke effect states that it destroyes everything except her, lands, and tokens. Mirrorworks states that when you play a non-token artifact you may pay 2 extra mana to summon a token that is an exact copy of the original.

Any-one get it yet?????
simple...

I myself run this combo in a myr swarm deck with the palladium, galvanizer, propagator, and battlesphere. And throwing in semblance anvil allowes you to get this out on turn 4 easilly if you know what your doing, as well as speeding up the infinite combo. Can't get much faster when you only have to play one galvanizer and copy him.

P.S.
Both cards only cost 5 mana, wtf??!!!

I built my first artifact deck with these! And I must say, I am very impressed with the way it runs. Things just get rediculous when you're copying your Mirrorworks with your Mirrorworks. It's just wrong when you cast Spine of Ish Sah and you let loose multiple copies.

I haven't had this much fun with a casual card in a long time. It is really that much fun to play in my casual artifact deck. It works great with Kuldotha Forgemaster as you can search for more stuff to copy!

I have to give this a 5/5 because it not only pleases my Timmy, but my Johnny side loves to pull shinanegans.

Rules question: I was recently playing a game where I had Mirrorworks and nothing else on the battlefield. I cast Etched Champion. When he enters the battlefield, Mirrorworks' effect triggers and I choose to pay 2 to copy Etched Champion. In response to this, my opponent plays a colored instant which destroys the first Etched Champion. Is this legal? i.e. does the Etched Champion have protection from all colors by this point or not? Does the token come into play first or does my opponents destroy spell hit first?
ARandomMop
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@Sweatymess:

Unfortunately, no. :(

The Argent Sphinx will not enter the battlefield as an artifact - it will only get turned into one AFTER it has already entered, and so Mirrorworks will not trigger.

@Waxxy:

Since your opponent destroyed the original champion in response to the Mirrorworks trigger, it will be destroyed before the token copy ever comes into play. Therefore the maximum number of artifacts under your control at any point during this is 2, and so Metalcraft is never activated. Your champion will never get protection from colours and is vulnerable throughout.

Hopefully this clears up your questions :D

Broken - and not in that cool kind of way that allows for ridiculous plays, but in that other "can't be fixed" kind of way. I'm not saying the card's effect isn't powerful, but it doesn't fall into any reliable mana-curve, and it lacks synergy, period. If, Grand Architect could produce mana for triggered abilities, then maybe this card would find a home in Blue-Artifact-ramp, allowing for large beatdowns w/multiple Steel Hellkites, Wurmcoil Engines, etc., BUT, that's not the case.

@B00oo I too use this in my myr swarm deck! Myr galvanizer drops it on turn 4 as well. Mirrorworks is fantastic in that it says :when another artifact enters the battlefield: which means you can cheat out an artifact (i.e myr battlesphere with myr turbine) and copy it for 2.

I'm surprised only one person has mentioned Phyrexian Dreadnought, It works like this.
Play the Dreadnought for 1. Mirrorworks and its enters-the-battlefiend trigger both go on the stack. Put Mirrorworks' on top.
Mirrorworks' ability resolves, creating a token copy. Its ability goes on the stack. Sacrifice the original.
Original's ability resolves. Choose to sacrifice it, you can't, nothing happens.
Result: Token copy of Phyrexian Dreadnought for {3}, no drawback. An abusable Phyrexian Dreadnought in your graveyard.

Surely with this you could activate it many times.
Artifact enters battlefield
You activate ability.
You activate ability in response, etc.
= Many artifacts

Also, this with Caged Sun for a 1 land copy.

i like using this card withMyr Turbine and Parallel Lives.
just use the turbine to get a Myr Battlesphere into play copy it and because of parallel lives you get 3 battlespheres (the original and two tokens), all of which make 8 tokens
so in the end you have twenty-four tokens, and if you attack with one of the battlespheres the next turn and tap all of the tokens, you deal 24 direct damage (because of battlesphere's ability) and the battlesphere becomes a 28/7 until the end of turn

Seems like it would be batsh!t bonkers in EDH.

"Hey there, Planeswalker! Do you have some cool artifacts in your deck? Is the only-one-of-each-card rule cramping your style? Then do I have a deal for you! Right now, for the bargain price of only 2 mana*, you get two artifacts instead of one! Double the artifact-fun for everyone!

*Cost for the original artifact still apply."

Conjuror's Closet.
Bounce all your big artifact creatures and swarm your opponent with tokens. Perhaps ramp a bit with Grand Architect (tutor up fatties with Treasure Mage). Expensive combo so really not competative, but should prove fun.

A friend played this against me the other day, along with Spine of Ish Sah.
His control game started off well and the game went long.
I was all but done when he made a critical error and cast the spine, destroying my last creature, and used the mirrorworks copy to destroy... one of my 15 lands?
I drew a mindshrieker, cast it, and swung the next turn for game.

After the game I politely asked why he didn't use the copy spine to destroy the original, sending it back to his hand so he could rinse and repeat each turn.

"... you can do that??.."
Followed by one of the best facepalm moments I can remember.
