I love the M10 art for Ball Lightning. It blurs the line between creature and spell in a way that reflects the nature of its abilities and the duration of its existence.

Suck it Putrefax. There can only be one, and everybody knows that Burn > Infect.
He likes to go out on the weekends with Groundbreaker. They party hard, then crash the f*ck out.
I'm among the minority who prefer this new art to the original.
I'm a bit surprised they reprinted this, but it's a cool creature that was very unique back in the day.
Boy does he love a good Berserk- I can't tell you how many times I've been hit for 12 in round 1 thanks to this guy :-P

Just an idea of a mechanic that I thought of that could make this an uncommon, or even a common:
Unstable (Unless this spell is on the top of the stack, it is countered.)
Another idea that could make this cost a lot less mana, though make this a lot more risky:
Treachery (Whenever this creature attacks and is not blocked, flip a coin. If you lose the flip, it deals combat damage to you instead)

Black Knight had one for breakfast this morning. He said it was shockingly delicious.

Question: If I use Sundial of the Infinite, does he stay in play forever or just till the next turn?

Sundial of the infinite causes you to skip your end step, but you would still need to sacrifice him your next turn. You'd have to keep using the sundial to keep him around. Ruling: "The creature is sacrificed at the end of every turn in which it is on the battlefield. There is no choice about what turn to sacrifice it."
Can i sacrifice Ball Lightning before end of turn for Altar of Dementia?

I love this card, I love this color, I love this deck.....
but please let's have some Academic Honesty people- can we admit that Ball Lightning is Strictly Not Obzedat? :3
If you love Ball Lightning, theoretically you should love Obzedat. Personally, I am going to run Obzedat as ''Ball Lightning with More Evil" in my Kaalia decks from now on. :D I go the extra Vorthos Mile with her, and always include things like Souls of the Faultless for Flavor. Obzedat fits.

For once, they have room for flavor text. Do they add any? Nope.

The funny thing about Ball Lightning is that most people tend to block it even though they don't have to. And then they prevent like 1 or 2 damage from it and lose an important creature ;)

Actually, he'd die at the end of your opponent's turn... (unless you can skip their end step as well).
However it would make for a good 4 mana 6/1... blocker.. I guess... lol
I don't want my Ball Lightning Foiled!
