Yeah, so this is instantly going to be replaced by Overwhelming Stampede

@oristi No, it will not in most tribals- like elves, for example. Very rarely do you find a Elf with a power higher than three, so they will not replace it. Though Overwhelming stampede is capable of being better, this works in more places.

The other night my fiancee combined this with Thopter Assembly. Needless to say, I did not see that coming.

Exactly. Big sorceries like this aren't good because they make your fatties fatter, they're good because you could often close out your opponent even if all you've got left on the table is a couple of chump blockes/mana sources. The ability to kill your opponent with what amounts to spare parts made Overrun beautiful in Limited or in a stompy green mirror matches.

In the token deck I run, I don't have many creatures above 3/3, so I can see this card as interchangeable. The only thing I really think Overwhelming Stampede has on this is that it's {3}{G}{G}

but for the low mana cost of 5, why not just run both of them? Got 10 man? Use Overrun to boost the power of your creatures then up it with Overwhelming Stampede based on the new, higher power totals :D

This is stronger than Overwhelming Stampede in the right deck (though that card is good, too.)

Here's how you use this card: Play a bunch of one-mana or two-mana creatures each turn leading up to turn 5, then play Overrun and swing for game. Very few decks can react quickly enough to avoid dying. With Overwhelming Stampede, that doesn't work as reliably, because there are so few creatures that exceed 3 power and can still be rushed out.
