+ it let's us play cards and ignore their color requirements + it easily becomes out of hand once it starts going, be it with cards generating extra turns, drawing you more cards, returning cards from graveyard to hand or whatever + you can play the mirror, and next time it triggers, in response to the trigger, you can activate it and imprint something. once the triggered effect of the mirror resolves, it will allow you to play the imprinted card, even though it was not yet imprinted when the trigger was put on the stack
- doesnt work on spells with X in the cost - must trigger several times to be of use. if it triggers just once or not at all, you wasted cards and 5 mana - if it gets destroyed / bounced / stopped in any way, you lose two or more cards at once
Very interesting card, especially in combination with extra turn cards like Time Warp. If you can protect it for one turn afterwards, your opponent might as well concede.

Quite a few cards can be used to *** people off: Stone Rain, Thought Hemorrhage(if you know their decklist they might as well concede defeat, just name every card you know), Maelstrom Pulse, Terminate, Glimpse of the Unthinkable, etc. And I am just naming cards that are really cheap and frustraing to play against, not even naming the cards that give gauranteed win.

I guess everyone agrees, using this card with Time Warp rocks! But the possibilities are endless. You can use this card in practically any deck, thanks to it being colorless!
Um, what's the point of Exile versus Graveyard if there are cards that allow unearthing/playing from Exile? Exile should mean exile. Period.

You win.

Why not just use one Panoptic Mirror imprinted with Time Stretch and any mill instant/sorcery ? The combo needs one less card this way, and therefore works much better.
Of course, if you were using this card as a center piece for a combo deck, you would also include Time Warp, so that way on turn six, you can just stall until you draw one of your Time Stretchs. My brain is ticking now...hmm....
Wish there wasn't a "may" in there... would be hilarious to Donate one with a Time Stop imprinted on it.
Yes you'd need a lot of support to make that work, but it'd be hilarious to play, not so much to play against.

Quite possibly the dumbest and worst combo to ever pull with this is using one of the 5 Epic Sorceries. Those sorceries are probably the only ones that wouldn't work with this card. And, all of the other sorceries work REALLY well with this card. I give it a 5/5.

Not constructed viable due to the cost compared to the lack-of-ensured-win, but fantastic in casual. It's virtually impossible to get card disadvantage with it too, as you can imprint a card in response to the triggered ability - so even if they Naturalize it at that point, the ability will still resolve and cast a copy of the exiled card, meaning that they'd get a 1 for 1.
Time Warp seems like a pretty awesome card to imprint on it. "Oh, if you can't counter the copied spell or destroy the mirror then every turn for the rest of the game will be mine. GG".
Play it with Cruel Ultimatum to break their spirit. If you have Thraximundar and Niv-Mizzet or It That Betrays out it's game over.

@Tsuichoi The mirror makes a virtual copy from the exiled one (read rulings below card pic), the card happens and then the virtual one is exiled, since its a token it ceases to exist as a state based action after all spells on the stack resolve and priority has been given to your opponent.

This plus a tutor gives you "when you would draw a card, instead go find a card you want."
This artifact singlehandedly drew me back into MtG after over a decade of "retirement" (well, okay... The Stick was equally responsible). It's only appropriate that the Mirror would draw me into Gatherer, as well :-P
Time Walk was the first thing I thought of, but the applications are almost unlimited.

With Time Reversal this card makes a copy that would exile itself at end of turn. Not that that really matters seeing as the copy would cease to exist regardless after its effect hit the field anyway. The only difference between a copy of Time Reversal and lets say Timetwister is that Time Reversal never hits the graveyard. So graveyard effects don't trigger from Time Reversal. While they still would from Timetwister. Once Timetwister would hit the graveyard though effects that work on a spell hitting the graveyard would still trigger before the copy would cease to exist.
But I think what you really want to know is how Time Reversal works with this. And the answer to that is, just like any other card. Because it says You may copy one of the imprinted cards the fact that the copy exiles itself doesn't have an effect with the card except when you are dealing with graveyard triggers.
I hope this helped you and I hope it wasn't too confusing.

@Tsuichoi: When the copy of Time Reversal resolves, everybody shuffles and redraws their hand, and the copy of Time Reversal is exiled, not the spell imprinted on the mirror. This occurs every turn, and would be incredibly fun in a giant group EDH game to get people on your side

To everyone saying "imprint an exra turn spell and let it survive till your upkeep" you realize you can just imprint the "Time Warp" spell in response to it's ability going on the stack during your upkeep right? You know. Instead of it just sitting there with your time warp already exiled.

Every card has a converted mana cost. If it's one of the Time Spiral suspend cards (like Ancestral Vision) or Evermind, then the converted mana cost is zero, even though the card doesn't have an actual mana cost. If the mana cost includes X, X is zero. You've always been able to specifiy zero for an X, so unless the card says X can't be zero, it can. The card doesn't say X cannot be zero.

Cards with no converted mana cost CAN'T be copied with this. First, you have to pay X, and X can't be zero, and they don't have any converted mana cost, and therefore can't be cast. They normally can't be cast in special ways; things like Fist of Suns and Mind's Desire can cast them because they add an alternative casting. (From the rulings)
Yes, you can have multiple imprinted cards, but only one will be copied each turn.
This imprinting Conflux with Omniscience. Tutor any 5 cards, then cast them for free.
This with Rootborn Defenses will first have you make a copy of a token (that doesn't just die at the end of the turn) then makes your creatures indestructible for the turn. Awesome!

Jarie thats wrong. You're not casting a card, and you can pay 0 for mirror imprint. Read the actual rulings before you start telling people they're wrong. And their CMC is 0, however they don't have a ost and that is why they can't be cast NORMALLY, however mirror lets you cast them.

@mccreator: No the rite of replication is on the panoptic mirror. You cast the spell. Kicker means that you may pay the additional cost while casting it so whenever you cast rite of replication with panoptic mirror, you may pay the kicker cost but you don't have to.

Can somebody please clarify this question.
Once your upkeep commences and you have the mirror already out you can exile the sorcery spell right away and it triggers therefore casting the spell on that initial upkeep. I've played magic online (2013) and this was the case. Also rule #4 seems to indicate this as well. Can somebody please clarify this further as I would like to make sure I'm using this card right.
Also this judge says the spell will trigger on the initial upkeep:
"While no one gets priority during the untap step, your opponent can still imprint a card and get a copy that upkeep."
Please consider the following: Time Spiral and Paradox Haze yourself. "I don't like this hand. Fellas, let's get new ones." .... "Yeah, this isn't any better. Again."

I'm dissapointed that no ones mentioned Paradox Haze. Why get one free spell when you can have two?
I think I already know the answer, but how does this work with "epic" cards? Since the cards say you cannot cast spells for the rest of the game, that would prohibit the effect from panoptic mirror playing off, correct? Or would it still play off since it is an ability, not actually casting a spell from your hand?
