I think this might have a little more utility than Key. It doesnt cost any mana, but more importantly, it doesnt need to be tapped. Already thought of an infinite combo with it in standard... I see why some would want Key though.

Yet another card in a lost list of M13 Artifacts and Spells that I think was picked partly just because it looks cool with a 'Doomy 13' in the expansion symbol! ;D (Tormod's Crypt, Nicol Bolas, most of Black, Door to Nothingness, and a few others off the top of my head)

Here's a little combo I've been using in Modern for a while already:
This card is one heck of an engine, which is probably why they waited until Scars was nearly rotated out to reprint it.

This card only has two modes: useless, and bah-roken.

This can be fun without being broken. All your static ability artifacts (including this!) can be tapped, to give them additional use. And in Howling Mine's case, you WANT them to be tapped.
Anything imprinted on a Prototype Portal can help to untap the portal. Especially if it brings any friends with it, like Myr Battlesphere does.
Combine the Clock, the Portal, the Battlesphere, the Chalice and the Chamber to go infinite. Which sounds awful except that all four of the other cards are amazing on their own.

Combo this with your Chronomoton and you will have one nasty golem.
Somewhere in this card is the heart of a punishing artifact deck. I can't see it yet, but it's my next goal to do so. I'm rating this card for the future, then.

Part of a nasty Legacy deck involving Lodestone Myrs, Static Orbs, Howling Mines, and some other goodies. Toss in some Force of Wills, Brainstorms, and Wastelands and it'd probally be fairly competitive.

It's Asian looking, I hope it foreshadows the return of Kamigawa?

artifact land + prototype portal + doubling season/ parallel lives, only infinite that I can think of off hand.

This might be a neat addition to my causal Myr deck. Palladium Myr + 2*Myr Galvanizer + Myr Propagator = infinite Myr copies, and tapping those little guys for this can help support the combo in case it falls apart, or to keep my other nasty artifacts untapped and ready to go.

This is great when you've got stuff like Mycosynth Wellspring and Ichor Wellspring on the battlefield. Pretty much anything that's done it's job (or half of it anyway) and is just sitting around.

It's kinda like a more unwieldy Voltaic Key, but unlike the key it can be activated multiple times in the presence of enough artifacts. Definitely holds potential with things like Steel Overseer.

Tap this and Omen Machine for an unflavourfully ominous untap.

Myr Battlesphere has been mentioned, but you can also use Progenitor Golem.
Also seems kind of fun with Prototype Portal and Flayer Husks. It won't do too much, but you get a bunch of equipment and who cares if that's tapped?

The gloomy and blurred style of the new artwork makes me feel like it was originally printed in a very old set, when the artwork often tended to be more crude and blurred, likeTheDarkorLegends.
The change from Fifth Dawn's artwork to the current one is extreme. It's a completely different take on a "Clock of Omens" compared to the original, a futuristic, steampunkish one.

I plan to use Clock with Coretapper, one or two Myr Galvanizer, and two of any Myr and one manadork Myr, This works with either an Everflowing Chalice / Astral Cornucopia that can both be cast for 0, and/or a Lux Cannon. If you have all of the above, you can simply start with the chalice and untap the galvanizer using untapped myrs and clock to put as many counters on your mana-producing artifact as you need to play the rest of the cards in your hand. If there's a lux cannon and enough Myr creatures, you can destroy all opposing permanents. Frankly the deck I'm building is just going to have absurdly funny utility and giant amounts of mana.

Myr Turbine, Parallel Lives, and this.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out in Standard.
Anything imprinted on a Prototype Portal can help to untap the portal. Especially if it brings any friends with it, like Myr Battlesphere does.
If you have an Everflowing Chalice out, along with an Energy Chamber(tap this too!), you could very easily have a ton of mana.
Combine the Clock, the Portal, the Battlesphere, the Chalice and the Chamber to go infinite. Which sounds awful except that all four of the other cards are amazing on their own.

Clock of Omens + Prototype Portal + Progenitor Golem works alright, but you'll probably want Mana Echoes to go infinite.
