TimmyForever: Pointless? Remember that unlike Phantasmal Image, you can target it. Exhibit A: equipment. Exhibit B: Cloudshift when something even more desirable to copy comes up.

@timmyforever Tell me, what is your idea of a good card? No, scratch that, why do you hate reprints? This card is reprinted so it'll be in standard longer. So don't say it's a "Pointless Reprint" based on the fact it was still in standard when printed. Also, "Not relevant"? Why, oh god why, is it not relevant? And finally, why do you only rate things 0.5? You'll die without ever finding a card that reaches your idiotically high standards. There isn't a card broken enough that you'd like it, is there?

When four copies of a creature aren't enough...
Or you could use it to kill any other legendary creature on the battlefield.
Of course, he is not a Phantasmal Image or a Phyrexian Metamorph, but he still has his place!
Maybe he will get more love post-rotation.

Fair & reasonable clone creature. Although looks expensive manawise after R&D's blunder called Phantasmal Image.

im still relatively new to this game ... but when playing a friend of mine told me that if the creature that clone copies dies or is remove from the battlefield ... so is clone

i looked into the rulings and didnt see anything like that. so was that all just BS? does that mean that clone is unaffected by whatever happens to other monster, like if 1 dies it wont affect the other right?

@lorddarktooth: When the original creature leaves, the Clone stays.

Pro tip: When you play this card, you want to clone the best creature on the board.

@TimmyForever.... you're kidding, right?

With the Legendary rule, and some badarse legendary creatures out there, yeah, it's relevant. With the ability to use Clone with other cards to screw with your opponent's mind, yeah, it's relevant.

You're an idiot.

What happens if you clone a card like the Headless Skaab? My assumption, is that it would enter the battlefield tapped, but it wouldn't incur the additional cost of exiling a creature from your graveyard. Is this correct?

Too expensive for serious play, I think the going rate is 1Blue. But he is cheap $$ wise and can bring some power to the budget players deck.

"Pointless reprint." This logic = don't use mana. They have been reprinted more than any other card obviously. I have it and can imagine it being useful in MANY situations.

@DanForever yep that's right. Clone doesn't copy any extra casting costs of the creatures it copies but it does copy ETB abilities.

I've yet to be disappointed when I play this. Copy your own creature, copy theirs. Flicker it. Whatever. It removes hexproof legends (and there are a couple of pesky ones available) or just plain old legendary creatures. It's annoyingly good in EDH , and is a solid card. I think it's a great choice for a reprint, especially after Phantasmal Image broke clone effects. Well, the Image and Sun Titan, that is.

This is my favorite card in the game right now. Oh, you have a $120 Tarmogoyf? Me too! Mine looks like a $0.20 rare though. Oh, your legendary creature has shroud? Good thing my Clone doesn't target!

My favorite interaction in the world is a Clone dropped into a Mimic Vat. It's always fun being able to pop out copies of anything in play for 3c.

A lot of people don't understand just how powerful Clone is. Here, let me share it's hidden ability:
Clone 3U Sorcery
Destroy target legendary creature. This spell can target legendary creatures with hexproof and shroud.

Think about how awesome that is for EDH. Yeah.

A fun, though seldom useful, application of this card: copy a land that has been made a creature from an enchantment like Wind Zendikon. It's like a makeshift Vesuva.

About to get a sucker punch with the Magic 2014 legend rule change. This thing's best application will be no more.

An awesome and classic card. It can be extremely dangerous, but the catch is that there needs to be something good on the battlefield first. Copying creatures like say...Sublime Archangel can easily turn things in your favor.

4 mana to play something that might've cost MORE than 4 mana. And reap all of the benefits of ETB effects. And shroud/hexproof can't say anything about it. And the legend rule change letting you copy THEIR legendary creature rather than a suicide charge (when in doubt, Unsummon ).

Yeah, you're an awesome card clone, I won't deny you that.

So it can't kill their legendary creature anymore, but now you get one of your own.

This can often be just as effective, especially if you can give it haste.

The legend rule change isn't nearly as bad as it seems. Ok so you don't get to destroy their legend, but you DO get to copy it. It's still likely worse (they probably buffed their hexproof Geist or Thrun or whatever it is), but still.
