Call me crazy, but I'm going to try this inTempered Steel. Helps give the deck extra gas and lets you find your namesake card that much fast. Who cares if won't work with Steel in play, you should already have enough pressure to close out the game at that point.
Eldrazi spawn can sac in response to the trigger to pay for their own cantripping.

My Kaalia of the Vast Commander deck could use this. Most of the non-Angel/Demon/Dragon guys fit his requirement, and that's enough to make him worth it. Then with the extensive recursion package the deck runs, if I could get any of those guys onto the battlefield a second time, the Mentor would more than prove his place in the 99.

Going to make a Standard white equip deck with this, Puresteel Paladin, Champion of the Parish, Mirran Crusader, and a bunch of living weapons. Remember that when the living weapon is cast, you get to draw a card from Puresteel Paladin's ability, then pay 1 to draw a card for the 0/0 germ that comes into play. Should be fun and fast for casual play.

White will be seeing some good Standard aggro, This guy will be its card-draw engine.
This thing is great!!! You're really only gonna be playing weenies with him, so you generally have mana for the card draw. Also, it has two relevant creature types, and there's a lotta human support in Innistrad. This is gonna be a beast in Standard

Question: If you have a mayor of averbruk (or another +1/+1 enchantment) that gives your humans +1/+1 on the board and you play a 2/2 human, will it qualify for the mentor of the meek's ability to trigger?
I guess the question is: does the creature enter as a 2/2 and then get the +1/+1 or does it enter immediately as a 3/3?

White weenie has never impressed me. Standard white weenie even moreso, especially from decks I've seen that play four wraths, which is just backwards since its an aggressive deck bent on dominating the board and killing quickly. This guy fixes all of that. Pump guys onto the board like no tomorrow. Mana Leak that wrath effect or fatty! There's no need to run wraths of your own! That's just paranoid!

Not much in a white swarm deck. The 3 cmc slows him down considerably meaning you're either not playing your Accorder Paladin or Elite Vanguard or you're not getting the draw off him. However, in a white token deck he is incredible.
Pair him with Hero of Bladehold and draw two cards every turn, thrown down an Elspeth Tirel +2 one turn -2 the next, draw three cards. My personal favorite has to be playing it out slow, dropping him then waiting a turn or two and drawing off Timely Reinforcements.
@CarlosLiberated : That's not how germs work. If they were ever 0/0s on the battlefield they would instantly die from having 0 toughness. Instead they enter the battlefield attached to the equipment making their power and toughness whatever the equipment gives them.

I disagree, he is an awesome card draw engine. If you're considering human standard, T1 and T2 will generally be a champion of the parish or avacyn's pilgrim. If you hit the pilgrim on T1 you can have your mentor out T2.
Confuse your opponents and drop a champ of the parish and draw 2 cards off your couple of mentors. Generally your hand is going to be reaaaallly full so discard that fiend hunter you've got sitting there. Next turn swing with your previously played sun titan, recur the fiend hunter then draw another couple of cards. The draw effect is even more great when you're mana flooded even if your hand is full, just discard the excess land.
Of course you're eventually going to want to get your lords out like Mayor of Avabruck or Adaptive Automaton but just save them for once you've got a sizeable army to buff.

So, does that mean, with enough mana, I can draw up to 13 cards with Army of the Damned? And if I have Rooftop Storm on the field, my Zombies get to call friends from the graveyard AND from my deck for as little as 1 mana each? As a Zombie deck user, this calls for a formal welcoming party.

This and Heartless Summoning allows you to make more creatures qualify for card draw, and make them cheaper to boot. In a deck with the right creatures, you can swarm the board easily.

I've loved this addition to WW, even in the new UW builds, he's often better than blue draw spells especially when your most often going to have enough mana open to cast whatever you drew straight away. In that sense, it makes some top decks quite electrifying.

Whenever I think of the word 'Meek', I think of the small. No wonder he couldn't handle Kung Fu Panda.
Pretty excellent card all round, I'm thinking Eldrazi tokens here as a card-spewing engine.
2, Remove a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control: Put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token onto the battlefield. Draw a card.

This guy's confliction with Honor of the Pure weakens his efficacy in a White weenie deck. Don't get me wrong, he's still awesome; he just might not be ruling standard, even if the metagame has White weenie at the top.

great for reloading your hand in a weenie, especially if you can get more then one out.
paired with "champion of the parish" it really shines, if the game goes long you end up with a huge "champ", a bunch of little blockers, AND a handful of cards.
The card-drawing engine idea in a White Weenie is really sounding like a great idea, especially if you have more than one of these in play.
As for personal tastes though, as a White Weenie lover, I prefer a much direct approach aka cards that will outright KILL your opponent rather than thinking of mid-lategame. However, one can't deny that the very weakness of WW is exactly just that, mid-lategame.
In short, I see this card as one that allows WW to survive later in the game, rather than a card that actually makes you win faster.

Doctor, I respect the hard work that must have gone into your graduate degree, so I'll say this as politely as possible: Please go read, say, Flayer Husk's reminder text.
It puts the token into play (as a 0/0), then attaches the equipment to it. So Mentor of the Meek does trigger, even on Batterskull's token. The reason that the token doesn't die while it's in play but unequipped is that State Based Effects aren't checked in the middle of the resolution of spells and abilities.

Very useful card in that it supplies monowhite with card advantage, something that is supposed to be it's only weekness. It's almost like giving red a draw option when the opent is the target of a burn spell. Very rare that white has agruably better creature based draw than green

@Myrderous I know it's wierd right. I would argue that this has better card draw then even certain blue cards *stares at my copy think twice menacingly* White can probably use card draw more anyways what with Green being slowish and requiring ramps(with notable exceptions).
Anyways, this guy. THIS guy ... is a beast. Thraben Doomsayer + this guy = draw 1 and put a 1/1 white human token onto the battlefield every turn for (Works well with Throne of Empires as well but not as well as thraben doomsayer). Cloudshift+ Elvish Visionary with this guy in play = Divination for . Think Twice can suck it, I'd take this combo over that any day. Don't even get me started with Lingering Souls. This would what it would be like if it were a card.
Lingering Souls (+ Mentor of the Meek)

Put two 1/1 fliers into the battlefield Multi-Kicker for every time Lingering souls was kicked, draw a card you can may kick this card up to two times for each copy of mentor of the meek you have on the battlefield Flashback
all FROM 1 CARD and this guy? Can you say VALUE? While he doesn't do very much in a vacuum, in the right deck, once he gets going it's too late for removal (and it would be a waste, he's not even a board threat), you drew your bomb (Your Baneslayer Angel, Sublime Archangel , Sword of War and Peace, etc.) and you have the mana to hardcast it, you've already won. Imagine having two out, or having two Thraben Doomsayers out or both! It happened to me before since you get to keep cantriping and gaining card advantage. Combos with just about every creature in my deck. Just the unbelievable mileage that you get with this card you get with this card. Also synergizes well with Herald of War so that you can put out your guys faster and keep drawing cards. Anybody thinking of making a white token deck should consider putting a few copies in just because, it's that good. This card can and will win you games with the help of your handy dandy 1 and two drops (Knight of Glory, Elite Vanguard, etc.) and a couple token generators. Though, I could see mill being a threat to a deck based around this, assuming they aren't killed outright by the creatures.

Awesome way to spend your spare mana. Fits perfectly in a human themed deck - in my deck, the only human with power greater than 2 seems to be Geist-Honored Monk.
Without this you simply might end up shelling all those cheap costed humans out way too fast.
This guy kills it in my "enters the battlefield" themed deck.
I'm confused about one thing though... When I successfully cast Whirlpool Rider what happens first? Do I draw a card and then shuffle my hand, or do I shuffle my hand and then draw a card?

Lullmage Mentor goes well with this. Counter a spell, 1/1 blue merfolk & : draw a card (since a meek merfolk dude came to school). 7 merfolk (through countering/drawing) allows you to counter whatever every time you untap. Draw on.
Dovescape could get incredibly nasty. Then you get a meek flyer & merfolk to draw cards off of.

Most of the playable cards for exalted decks like silverblade and the Knights of Glory/Infamy have below two power before they attack too.. Exalted can always use a card engine!
Unfortunately the same decks that want Honor of the Pure for power want to run this for card advantage. The +1/+1 effect will often prevent the draw effect from triggering. I recommend Mikaeus, the Lunarch instead, because he can buff your small creatures after they enter the battlefield, and over time more than +1/+1 as well. Honorable mention to Thraben Doomsayer to keep this engine running in mono white, as long as you stay above 5 life. Champion of the Parish, Soul Warden, Gather the Townsfolk, Goldnight Commander, and Increasing Devotion make a nice little band of Merry Men. Cathars' Crusade if you're feeling like having truly massive humans.
Wait, since instead of giving +1/+1 counters, he's giving the caster extra cards...doesn't that mean that YOU, the player, are the meek one he's mentoring?
