It's good filler to Trinket Mage for until you get something better. There's nothing really bad about the card at all. There's just nothing spectacular about it either.

If you would pump the Germ (for instance with bad Moon) and bounce the equipment you would have a nice token producer

A big thing people miss about this is that it makes both a creature and an artifact for only 1 mana and one card. Great for sac effects and a lot of combos (especially salvaging station and any artifact sac).

I definitely agree with Jonrds. It's an incredible card as far as I'm concerned. I easily have 3-4 of these guys in a couple of my decks due to the simple fact that it's an additional 3-4 creatures per deck and they can go out on turn 1 if need be. No complaints there and after the germ dies off it's nothing but a bonus to throw onto whoever is next in line to show up on the battlefield. I have a lot of fun with Flayer Husk(s).

Colorless 1/1 or 1? That deserves at least a 2.5. Add in that it's a token, meaning it can be abused with certain effects, and that he can buff someone else, and he's not bad.

Some combos to consider, but worst comes to worst its a filler creature that can stick around and make your other creatures a little bit bigger.

Not a bad one-drop. Fun to play in cheap weenie decks. 3/5 seems like an appropriate rating.

Easy chump blocker for pesky early creatures that can make a better guy bigger once he hits the field. A balanced card overall. 4/5 from me because he is strategic enough to save you some life and grow a creature. Remember that the equipment sticks around after the germ dies.
