Okay, and I play Increasing Devotion, giving my 5 spirit tokens and 3 1/1 humans all 5 +1/+1 counters. And, swing.

Great combo potential with a great number of cards in standard right now: 1) Hero of Bladehold- attacks now with a 5/6 and two 4/3's due to its battle cry 2) Thopter Assembly- five 1/1's with flying? How about five 6/6's with flying, and then bumping them up by playing Assembly again. 3) Spider Spawning. 'Nuff said. 4) Increasing Devotion / Gather the Townsfolk
It makes a great base for a deck. It's just unfortunate that we don't have nearly enough enchantment search in standard...

I actually kinda hate this card. Not because its bad, OH NO! Its really good. Just it makes extremely complicated bored states. Imagine 13 1/1 tokens entering the battlefield then one token at a time entering one after the other over and over again... Sure in online matches that isn't a problem. However when you are playing casually, this thing is chaos.

I'll definitely have to look into making this part of my planned Jenara, Asura of War Commander deck (with its persist and graft subthemes).
EDIT: And I just realized HOW dangerous this is with persist creatures that sacrifice for an effect, like Kithkin Spellduster and Glen Elendra Archmage. ESPECIALLY the Archmage. As long as you have blue mana open, the enemy's only real hope for getting anything non-creature through is going to be something like Fiend Hunter or Phyrexian Ingester...
I have a ghave edh token deck. I have mixed feelings about this card. personally i'd rather play muraganda petroglyphs than this to pump the tokens. I think it's a little to expensive and needs too much to combo off of to be really good. The cost is also a little prohibitive in multicolor decks.
BUT it could be fun in certain instances, as someone mentioned with persist, you're creatures will never die.

I played at the pre-release, and pulled this + Champion of Lambholt. Not only would I get some kind of coolsauce like Druid's Familiar, but I'd also give the Champion a nice +1/+1 counter...

Too slow for constructed I think. You don't ever want that many creatures on board anyways. In an ideal situation, this is a powerful (albeit costly) anthem. But usually, I think control decks will laugh at this 5 drop.

This + Pentavus = fun times with a Pentavus that gains counters as fast as he loses them and spawns huge flying tokens for nearly no mana.

Infinite Infinity/infinity tokens, please.

You can always flicker something useful to not only get their ETB abilities over and over again, but also to put counters on everything else, over and over again.
I'm currently using 3 of these in my 5 slot in my standard black/white tokens deck. Everyone at my local shop thinks the card is jank... and they snicker at it, make jokes about it... but then when I stomp the crap outta them with a massive army of huge myr tokens via Shrine of Loyal Legions, they say I just got lucky.
Sometimes I think people just can't see how good a card is.

Say you get five angel tokens out this way...first token ends up being 9/9, last 6/6. Not to mention any creatures you already have out suddenly gaining +5/+5...

I once managed to get this out with Herald of War and the fun just began. I did not even need to attack with Herald to make it bigger.
Door of Destinies costs and is restricted to a certain creature type. It triggers on spells instead, so Tribal cards with the right subtype work too. Yet you have to hardcast the creatures. But Door of Destinies buffs the latest creature just as much as the others - a 1/1 might immediately enter as 5/5. You can also power up all creatures by messing with the charge counters on the door. The downside is that once its gone, all creatures will revert to normal.
Cathars' Crusade has a higher cost and is restricted to white decks, but triggers on any creature that somehow enters. That allows a lot more shenanigans with tokens - which can be produced en masse, or also works with flicker effects (which are a theme in this card's expansion as well: There's Cloudshift, Restoration Angel, Conjurer's Closet etc.) Getting the buff decentralized as +1/+1 counters on each creature will not only make sure you won't have to regret the loss of this enchantment that much, it also allows a lot of interactions with creatures that care about their +1/+1 counters, like Triskelion. Mycoloth even combines this with the aspect of token abuse.

Basically turns all your creatures into Champion of the Parish. 5-mana means you'll have to wait until mid-game to play this card which doesn't have an obvious synergy with white-weenie/soldier decks, but it does eliminate the problem of white-weenie getting out-classed by mid-range stompy decks. Could potentially be insane in the right deck. 4.5/5

Suprised nobody has mentioned Springjack Shepherd. With just these two cards, you get three 4/5 goats and a 5/6 Springjack as long as you let Springjack's enter the battlefield ability resolve first.

@Ozram - You hurt people's heads. Seriously, why would you even think about that??
Let's see if I can figure this out:
You have Doubling Season and Juniper Order Ranger out, along with the Crusade. You cast Fists of Ironwood on something (JOR for this example); you put 4 Saprolings out (thanks, Doubling Season), your Ranger puts 2 +1/+1 counters on each and 8 +1/+1 counters on itself (again, DS). Since four creatures just entered play, you get to put 8 +1/+1 counters on each of the Saprolings (from CC and DS) and 8 +1/+1 counters on the Ranger.
You end up with:
An 18/20 Juniper Order Ranger 8 11/11 Saprolings
My math may be off...I hurt my head trying to figure this out.

@DanKnight I don't think it works that way. All the Angels hit the field at the same instant - not one after the other. So they all only get the +5/+5 and everything else you have out as well. That's the way it was ruled by a judge at an FNM when I popped Ajani for his cat tokens. I had 32 life and so got 32 cat tokens. They and all my other creatures instantly got 32 +1/+1 counters because the tokens hit the field at the same instant rather than one after the other.

I'm currently running a Boros Humans Standard deck right now that's been surprisingly fantastic. Getting this out of the field usually means I win. Because if playing Thatcher Revolt the next turn and getting 3 4/4's with haste doesn't win me the game, having a field of weenies that just got permanently +3/+3 bigger certainly does.

Very awesome with persist-- have some kind of sac outlet (i.e. Phyrexian Altar) for a creature like Woodfall Primus and you can blow up all your opponents' lands while making all your creatures extremely huge and, in the case of the altar, producing an absurd amount of mana!

Love it in my Ghave commander deck. It plus an Ashnod's Altar, and Ghave produce infinite colorless mana and creatures and make all my creatures infinite/infinites.
With the new card Ooze Flux from Gatecrash, a neat 2 card synergy is formed with Cathars' Crusade. As long as you already have a creature with a +1/+1 counter on it (perhaps from casting a regular creature and triggering Crusade), you then get the ability 1G: put a 1/1 Ooze into play, then put a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures. Because the Ooze will get a +1/+1 counter you're getting a creature on curve at the cost of no cards, while also permanently pumping the rest of your creatures.
Throw in Rhys the Redeemed and his 6 mana ability (double the number of token creatures you have), and things get nuts pretty fast. Triskelion makes for a nice finisher in this sort of deck - even if your absurdly huge creatures can't punch through for some reason, he can turn all those counters into damage to the face, and doubles as creature removal if required.
Sacrifice all of your creatures with the pit in response to a board wipe, and make a bunch of new spawns with the pit once the dust has settled. Plus you get a bunch of free cards... unless the card they're using is Akroma's Vengeance of course.
FYI if you plan on using Crusade with Mycoloth in MTGO, the game will crash. Oh and by the way.... it crashes even withoutDoubling Season.
Every time I get that combo rolling, I get a message that says "Game server Reconnecting Error DC001: The game should resume momentarily. Should the system be unable to resume the game at the current turn, one of two things will occur: the game will be restarted at the beginning, or the game will be completed as a draw"

The only thing about this I don't like is keeping track of all the +1/+1 counters when you generate a ton of tokens. I have this in a soldier token deck that really churns out the tokens... placing that many counters on that many tokens becomes a very annoying task for not only my opponent but myself as well. I wish this worked more like Door of Destinies.
