The fella sitting next to me at the prerelease got one of these and a foil Mentor of the Meek in his first pack. He certainly made a weenie deck. He came out 4-0.

WTF? Half these Innistrad humans are also soldiers. Way more than half the soldiers already out their are also humans. This is gonna be ridiculously good, especially outside of standard.

Honestly one of my favorites of the set, this guy is plain GOOD. He's going to get big fast.
Plus, while I would have preferred him with evasion, creatures like him that are cheap, grow, and go in swarmy decks are nice, because they're usually a must-block, meaning that your opponent's gonna let one more of your other creatures through so he can block this.
Plus, by the time they have any big blockers, this guy'll most likely kill or trade with 'em.

humans is out of hand, unfair and cheap.... which is why im running them at states XD
Here comes the Champ! This is freakin strong in standard. I can make a casual deck with him on it. He's gonna be awesome with Ranger of Eos, Elite Vanguard and Field Marshal.

Compared to Elite Vanguard.. Better yet, compare to Savannah Lions for the rarity. I do believe I love this card. 4 of these along with 4 Vanguards and I am a happy camper.

Coming in Dark Ascension: Human tokens. I'm saying this on the first day of previews - stock up on this guy, because things will get more ridiculous when Gather the Townsfolk and Thraben Doomsayer come out.

with a ton of cheap cmc humans in this set and "mentor of the meek" to keep your hand full, this guy is a beast! 5/5

This card is nuts and bolts. The fact that it counts tokens too is just over the top. If you're ever in doubt whether to run this or not, I did the following recently with my Human deck:
T1: Plains, Champion of the Parish. T2: Plains, Gather the Townsfolk (got some from the DKA prerelease), attack with 3/3 Champion. T3: Plains, Gather the Townsfolk, Doomed Traveler, attack with 6/6 Champion & two 1/1 tokens. T4: Plains, Fiend Hunter, swing with the whole team, and my opponent conceded.
This thing should be the first thing your opponents want to kill. If you leave it be, it grows out of hand very quickly.

It fits its rarity, it's cost and even its flavor text. It fits a budget friendly deck with Elite Vanguard, Gather the Townsfolk and Increasing Devotion. This is exactly what a rare card should be.
No matter if you're a johnny or timmy player, you look at him and easily, in your mind, you see a deck around him.

Had one of these on the field pumped up to 4/4 due to Thraben Doomsayer, I get swung down to 3. Then I cast 3 Gather the Townsfolk. 19/19 awww yeah.

Just another reason flicker effects are the best new mechanic in Avacyn Restored.
Turn 2: You play a Plains and two of these. You have a 3/3, a 2/2, and a 1/1. You attack for 3 damage.
Turn 3: You play a Mountain and Thatcher Revolt. You have a 6/6, a 5/5, a 4/4, and 3 1/1s. You attack for 18 damage.
If you downvote me, at least now you understand the math.

Along with Odric got to be the most important card in any human deck this block. Get him out on the first turn and just watch him grow with Gather The Townsfolk, Thatchers Revolt and Thraben Doomsayer as well as any other human cards you might pack in to your deck.

Well, if only I could have more than 4...I would have 50 of these and 10 lands, and that would be my whole deck. Combos with any human in existence. It's a 1/1 for one mana that consistently becomes a 5/5 or higher in a human deck.

"This needs to be a promo. It's so good!" "This guy is awesome. Quite the beater for {W}." "5.0 , easily :D. A great one drop , either in a Human , or Soldier deck ..."
And it's rated 3.9/5.0. What am I missing?
I know now that one of two things happened: there's someone who purposely made a bunch of accounts so they could downrate every card from Innistrad onwards, or people have started downrating cards because they're either too expensive, played way too much in a competitive format, is too good, or needs a "rating trimming".
In all truth, this should be at least 4.2/5.0. It's a 1-cost creature that can almost single-handedly win you the game. Not only that, but it is also a Soldier in addition to being a Human, which means that it can also work so many other kinds of decks, even EDH.

Losing this duder will probably the saddest part of Innistrad block's up and coming rotation. Homeboy has been the backbone of about half a dozen different standard tribal Human decks of mine, including but not limited to: mono white, green/white, white/blue, naya and even the Aristocrats. Just a perfect card.

What a great feeling getting this guy out on turn 1. What a lousy feeling when you see him on turn 8. Either way the amount of power they pack into 1 {W} these days is a little crazy. I have seen this guy get pretty large, he is limited to human tribal, but I'm struggling to find a reason why thats a bad thing. He's a gooden'. 4/5

This guy is just absolutely sick in any humans deck. An all-star of a one drop. He can provide a ton of power very quickly. If you get a good start with a few Burning-Tree Emissary s and another two drop human this guy will be swinging in for four on turn two, and he'll only be getting stronger.

DAMN YOU INNISTRAD !
I don't see green/white humans being a deck (what green humans are there?), or even white/blue humans because of invisible stalker...the human deck I see is white/red. With stormblood berserker, hero of oxid ridge and grim lavamancer, you're as fast as you're gonna get.

3 counters per turn, at least
Turn 2 - Honor of the Pure; swing for 2
Turn 3 - Field Marshal; swing for 4
Turn 4 - Daru Warchief or another marshal; swing for 10
Turn 5 - play again?
Ranger of Eos for even more fun

Turn 4: Angelic Destiny, get in for 16
