5CMC for 5 1/1 Humans, then 9CMC for 10 1/1 humans. Pretty decent, I say.

very similar to conqueror's blessing.

I think that black white or even mono white tokens is looking extremely viable with lingering souls, mentor of hte meek, sorin, lord of innistrad, and midnight haunting as well as this card. throw in some intangible virtues and honor of the pures and you've got yourself a deck.

Gather the townsfolk costs 2W less. It doesnt matter what your life total is if your opponent has none.

This card netted me a close second at the prerelease. Literally every single win I got was either directly caused by or greatly facilitated by this card. The limited pool generally can't deal with 5 tokens, and even if it can, a few turns later, there are ten of them. I flashed this back once with a Dearly Departed in my graveyard. My opponent just looked at it, and scooped. 5/5 for sure.

Dearly departed is looking better and better...
Now we just need some legitimate ways to mill yourself in white.

some kind of white green EDH deck with this, doubling season and the other card from innistrad that doubles tokens is fun. think I'm going to bring RIth back.

Played it one turn, dropped Intangible Virtue. Flashed it back the next turn. Swung the next turn and dropped two Break of Days. This is a bomb in Limited.

I drafted 2 of these at a triple Dark Ascension draft, along with 3 Drogskol Captains. I can't tell you how much I wish this made spirits.

Suddenly Bösium Strip has found itself saving me mana on more than just my car insurance!

Solid in Limited, may see play elsewhere.

And with every token-producing card I see, my appreciation for Massacre Wurm grows stronger.

Use this, then the flashback, then Phyrexian Rebirth, then kick some ass.

Anyone else think to use Lyra figures for the tokens?

I guess chances are that people won't get why that's amusing.

I have a deck with four copies of this, and if you play with Leylines of the meek and Vitality... parallel lives and intangible virtue, and backing up with lingering souls and midnight haunting... well... Modern HELLO!

My favourite card in the set. Combined with Falkenrath Torturer, it helped me go 3-0 during FNM draft.

Why no one has mentioned using this with Champion of the Parish is a mystery to me.

@TheAllocated

No one's mentioned Champion of the Parish because by the time you can cast this, he's usually already dead (I know this from painful personal experience). That said, if you DO somehow have a Champion in play...yes, it's very relevant. Though without trample or some kind of evasion, at that point in the game Champion of the Parish isn't going to do much.

Keep on picking cards and this for a token deck with Essence of the Wild !

Using it with Champion of the Parish seems good, but I can't fit the champion in my budget. Instead, I'm using it in my RW deck. Turn 5 play this, turn 6 flashback a couple Rally the Peasants, swing for 35.

Has anyone thought to cast this and Increasing Vengeance from the graveyard after a Past in Flames? I like the sound of 30 humans...

Use with Vigilante Justice and Parallel Lives for an initial 10 damage and if they recover somehow, another 20 damage when you flash back, and thats only if you have one parallel lives out. Plus the 30 total 1/1 humans you get.

under-rated card. Its the newer version of Conqueror's Pledge

Works wonder in a Soul Sister deck

Playing this of of the hideaway lands like Windbrisk Heights is the dirtiest thing ever. Make 5 1/1s and put a 9cc bomb in my graveyard? I'm talking about edh here but, still, damn.

A Ravenous Demon will work well with this card.

omg. pair an increasing vengeance with this for a 2drop recast, then flashback it for 20 tokens all at once... better yet, in a GWR deck, with a parallel lives in play... that's game right there.

*Does not actually increase Devotion (Each symbol in the *mana costs* of permanents you control counts toward your devotion)

A great follow-up play to Sigil Captain. 15 power for five mana? Don't mind if I do.

Ironically, does not increase devotion. But it does pump Champion of the Parish up in a hurry.

No, it doesn't!!

Only with Essence of the Wild!
