The permanent likely has to be a non-artifact since this would enable making loops with mana artifacts to easy. However, there are red cards you can have twelve times in your deck nonetheless. Glimpse of Nature for instance is an excellent card to abuse this.
But i think it could also in general find use to trigger cip/etb effects of cheap creatures multiple times, especially those with echo since you can return them rather than paying their cost.
Spirit decks which trigger on every Spirit oder Arcane spell should also be able to profit from this artifact if you have two one-drops.
Use with the zero-cost Kobolds and then pick the Storm card of your choice.

Amazing combo card. As rubber said cloud of faeries just breaks this card. Play certain mana ramp artifacts like chrome mox or lotus petal with some ancient tombs to ramp this artifact out and say for fun a genesis chamber with its good old friend KCI to establish a solid combo plateform. Get the first cloud of faeries out and then bring out the second one, see if they have any counterspells for them if not all they can do is sit back or scoop cause congradulations, you have yourself infinite myr tokens to feed for infinite mana, but here's the real icing on the cake, rake up that infinite trigger and then just cast brain freeze for a potential turn 3 win with an unconventional brain freeze storm combo.

Not quite as awesome as infinite storm combos, but it works well with vanishing cards. Since it doesn't target anything stuff like Calciderm and Blastoderm can be returned to your hand.

I like cards like this; ones that obviously are combo pieces. WotC just leaves us to figure out how to use them.
I hate cards like this - ones that obviously are broken pieces, waiting to be abused. WotC just leaves us to be exploited by them and fall asleep when the combos are unleashed.

i love cards like this - ones that are obviously broken pieces, waiting to be abused. WoTC just leaves them to be exploited by us and rest well knowing combos have been unleashed and the game is more complex than they'd left it.

Hardly broken. while it sure invites for combos, it also restricts the most broken of those combos (two moxes). plus the fact that it cost 3 mana and you need at least four cards for those combos to work (this+2 non-artifacts+a win con). And a combo is know for having two pieces, so four pieces is rather weak. Weak and thereby not broken at all.
Where people then starts to see this as broken, it is because the amount of cards and how they work together is rather good.
This could however be used in non-combo ways like Ninjas, cip/etb effect and flash creatures (for saving your dudes).
Calling this broken while having hypergenesis in extended is pointless, really this is nothing like Painter's Servant+Grindstone. a combo engine card is not by definition broken. and cards isn't only made for spike and timmie, johnny also needs something to play with. so get a life before calling non-broken cards broken and accept that you are not the only one looking for something fun to do.

how sad that it says nonartifact - I would´ve loved some Ornithopter superbumping...

The root of so many infinite combos. I love this little guy.
This was in the same set as stuff like Fists of Ironwood. That in turn has nice synergy with Reality Acid - play one, and bounce the other, for many saproling tokens and a ton of destruction of everything from lands to planeswalkers.

Heh...I actually built a red storm deck when I pulled this puppy from a pack. Kobolds ftw, into a Grapeshot, or even more fun, Goblin Bombardment T2, this T3, then Empty the Warrens for the win :-)

Love this card. It get's really silly when I play it with Azorius Æthermage and Jace's Erasure. My friends love it when they can't play any of their cards. lol
Landfall ! It's especially awesome with 'spell lands' like Sejiri Steppe
also, consider Avenger of Zendikar - when the plants enter the battlefield, bounce the Avenger!

I'm trying to figure out how to make a modern or legacy deck around this with that new Heartless Summoning card. Priest of Urabrask would make infinite mana for a fireball type thing but it dies the moment it comes out. Maybe a Leyline of Vitality would help. The pieces just keep adding up for this one... edit: Boom found ya Coal Stoker.
@salient. While funny. Liquimetal coating wouldn't actually stop the combo. The only "nonartifact" restriction is on the creature coming into play. By the time you can target the kobold that was played, the ability from the curio is already on the stack and will bounce any creature, even if its an artifact creature.

Like Dream Halls and Intruder Alarm, this combos with everything. There has got to be 1000 ways to break this thing.

What, they gave it to us thinking it wouldn't be broken? Another super combo card. The non-artifact clause is probably to avoid abuse with zero-costed stuff. That still doesn't mean you can't get around the restriction though - Aluren and Animar, Soul of Elements are obvious.

so happy this is modern legal. i was a big fan of grapeshot elves or elves to combo out emrakul turn 2. glimpse of nature being banned in modern however, made those seem impossible. not with this guy, however :-)
everytime you play an elf, you can bounce an elvish visionary or even better, a sylvan messenger. coupled with nettle sentinel and heritage druid, you can bounce visionary and play it again. and the elves combo comes back to life :-)

@hamberglar Yes, this is modern legal. Check the Sets & Legality tab.
Also, a lot of people seem to be missing the important word *another* on this card. That being said, it is still absolutely wonderful. It's my favorite draw-your-whole-deck engine with animar and soul of the harvest, along with a few morph creatures.

For Non-artifact permanents you can use:
2 Lands and fastbond + something that gains you life.
2 Kobolds of kher keep, or the other two kobolds.
2 Cloud of Faeries
2 Priest of Gix
Kerntaro, the smiling cat + Pearl Medallion + two one mana samurais
2 Skyshroud Cutter
etc. lots of more weird options, like hasty Llanowar Elves.
When you then want to win with this engine, then the best choice is either Brain Freeze, bitter Ordeal or Grapeshot.
This could however be used in non-combo ways like Ninjas, cip/etb effect and flash creatures (for saving your dudes).
