Kazandu Blademaster? Wow, what happened to the whole ally deal?

"They happened. You can't trust anyone out here."

It's basically a mini-Baneslayer Angel.

Not getting nearly as much hate though, I guess because it's regular rare and it's not seen as trying to "displace" a classic treasure (Serra Angel).

ICEFANG13, by that token you might as well say that "vampires" isn't a creature type, too. There's no card that says "Creature -- Vampires". The game kind of assumes that you know how to speak English.

Interestingly Werewolves is not a creature type, I mean we are all smart enough to understand it, but technically it doesn't have protection from Werewolf, there are no creatures that are 'Werewolves'.

Haha everyone is very angry at me for making a joke, its ok I can speak English too.

I hope this isn't supposed to be the Raben card. This card is great, but I'd really like to see legendary creature versions of Raben, Reika, Geralf, and Gisa later in the block.

Caused me some problems in the Pre-release, but either Dead weight or Rolling Temblor would eventually kill it. Before i could do that though, this amazing card could continually knock sections of my life away while being available to block any attacks i might try on the ground. The newest 'knight' card, one that costs WhiteWhite and has first strike, protection from something, and a 2/2 body, I predict this guy will be very popular in standard as he is cheap, above the curve, and hard to remove.

Protection from every tribe on Innistrad, except Spirits and Humans. in other words 60% which should be good enough.

in limited i'm sure this is a fine card, but the fact is that in two years this card will be out of standard and relegated to the $1-rare bin. first strike is fine, but when has vigilance on a X/2 ever meant much of anything? this card feels like a rare inside its block, but outside it just feels like an uncommon.

At worst, it's a 2/2 first strike vigilance for WhiteWhite. In standard, this is gonna be a boss. However, my casual pool doesn't play a whole lotta tribal, so he's not gonna be as good, but I got one at the launch party, and it worked pretty well! Also, two relevant creatures types is a plus

The combination of First Strik and Vigilance has always been a favorite of mine.
Normally, with this guy, you're going to fend off (if not kill) an attacker, and attack for good amounts of damage.
He also gives Champion of the Parish his +1/+1 counter, and activates Mentor of the Meek's card-draw.
Very solid card.

This guy is an absolute boss. In Innistrad Limited, almost nothing from a black, red or green deck is getting by him. And with a Butcher's Cleaver or Silver-Inlaid Dagger, nothing is getting past him period.

I think he's going to need Equipment to be great in Standard, but there's plenty to choose from.

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down,
And I'd like to take a minute, no it's no big,
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Kessig.

In eastern Gavony, born and raised,
In the graveyard where I spent most of my days,
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool,
And all shooting up zombies outside of the school,
When a couple of vamps that were up in no good,
Started making trouble in my neighborhood.
I slayed one little 'pire and Mom, she wigged!
And said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Kessig!"

I whistled for a buggy and when it came near, the
License plate said "Slay" and it hung fangs from the mirror!
If anything, could say that this buggy was rigged!
But I thought no, forget it, yo home to Kessig!

I pulled up to a mansion about seven or eight,
And I yelled to the driver "yo, home! smell you later!"
Looked at my province, so nice an all big,
And sat on my throne as Elite of Kessig.

Vigilance + Protection is a big deal. If his protection is relevant, he can swing in for two damage at literally no cost. First Strike means that your opponent might have trouble blocking even without the protection working, too. Solid two-drop.

"The newest 'knight' card, one that costs WW and has first strike, protection from something, and a 2/2 body"

Too bad he's NOT a Knight. Would be great in a Knight deck. I'd give up vigilance to make him a Knight. Still, solid card - 4/5.

I don't think they put enough creature abilities on him.

Aside from that bit of sarcasm I don't think much else needs to be said. Solid, solid card. Will definitely be appearing in Vintage and Legacy for years to come.

@Arachnos

It sure is a lot of creature for 2 mana. I made a deck with 4 of these guys and a few Mikaeus, the Lunarchs, as well as Gavony Townships, and, of course, no nearly mono-White deck could do without 4 Honor of the Pures. Travel Preparations was really good as well. The result was beautiful. These cheap guys can get pretty damn amazing with a few (okay, a lot) +1/+1 counters on them. A GW deck with all of those synergies doesn't need expensive cards to "carry" for them. Any cheap creature will do, especially if they have some devastating abilities on them.

Seriously? He's only at 4/5? What the heck else do you want from your two-drop? I wouldn't blink at playing this guy at {2}{W}, and would consider sticking him in a tribal deck for {1}{W}{W}. At {W}{W} he's just amazing.

Man! I love the art and the flavour! This guy seems like the coolest person alive, smokin' his pipe and all. I can just see this guy taking on drinking games with fellow monster hunters from Innistrad.

Well, here's the thing:

A 2/2 for WhiteWhite with First Strike and Vigilance is nice. White Knight nice. The protection, outside of limited, is just gravy.

Now, I was planning on saying just that, until I realized, "Crap! Lotleth Troll is in Standard, and so is this!"

Yessiree, Elite Inquisitor will have a lot to smile about with Ravnica returning.

Great card in the current Standard meta. First strike with power 2 slows down aggro like you wouldn't believe, and the vigilance means that you can apply som early pressure and still have your anti-aggro superstar blocker ready during your opponents next turn. Human tribal is also very relevant. The protection is just icing on the cake.

4.5/5.

Close up, this guy is really sleazy looking. Greasy hair and a sweat shining face. But he's good at what he does (at least until a 5/5 demon comes along and trashes his áss). He also seem to be a case of the monster hunter being just as monstrous as those he hunts.

How is Steadfast Guard rated higher than this? lol

This should be a 4 at least just because of vigilance + first strike. I mean c'mon! how much more value do you want out of your 2 drops?

5/5 from me

I feel like this thing is the Vampire Nighthawk of white 2-drops. So many wonderful things crammed into that tiny mana cost, and worth running 4 of in most correspondingly colored decks.
