I hope this guy finds a place in monowhite quest due to his ability to reequip Argentum Armor. Worst comes to worst, he gives you a nice boost from playing a sword.

This is one of those cards that, when looking at it before it's released, I've mixed opinion.
He's good - really friggin' good.
I am just unsure about where he'll fit in Standard, if at all.
I want him to be in Caw-Blade. Or any of the other equipment-oriented Standard decks.
But because I'm not completely in-the-know about how those decks work,
I'm just not sure if there's a spot for him.
5/5, because he's good no matter how you look at it.
this is the card i want the most during prerelease

How does this interact with Bludgeon Brawl? Do all of my artifacts enter the battlefield as equips, triggering his first ability? What if I also use a Mycosynth Lattice? Would that make ALL of my non-creatures cantrip, including my lands?
If so.....I just found my new casual deck :D

I like this card, it's good for equipment decks, especially for living weapon decks. All your bonehoards now cost 0 to equip when the creature dies. On the other hand, tournament decks are not playing so much equipment you want, or need, this guy. Neither are most casual decks. There is some decent equipment running around out there, but for table top players most people don't own 4 copies of every one of the enemy color swords like the sword of war and peace.
I think where it shines best is in a kor equipment deck with living weapons such as bone hoard, and now even batterskull (if you can get one since it will likely be cost 30+ by the end of the week and the set is not even out yet).

Why bother running auras at all? With this guy out, you don't have to pay an extra cost to equip, and you gain card advantage every time you play a piece of equipment! They didn't even have the common decency to put in a 'from your hand' clause. It's not enough that he removes one of the key factors that keeps equipment in check, he draws you cards whilst violating a fundamental rule of the game! And he's a Grizzly Bear! This just has to be a bad idea.

This card is easily my pick for the big money rare of SOM block (like stoneforge mystic and knight of the reliquary were for ZEN and ALA respectively). I just can't see how a 2cc card that draws cards and flat out cheats on mana payments, despite the effects being tied to equipments only, won't end up being completely busted sooner or later.

There is no denying it is a great card, I'm just not sure where it fits. My first instinct is to throw him in with Thopters and Memnites to trigger his metalcraft quickly and then freely equip Whispersilk Cloaks to whatever has survived.
He might have a very interesting (and game-breaking) impact on Living Weapons, though. I can't think of any with a casting cost of 0, but they would still be more effective than tossing in traditional equipment cards.
He'll be great in my Glint Hawk deck. It has way more equipment than the usual cawblade deck.
Nim Deathmantle & Livewire Lash should both be fantastic with this guy. Especially if you don't want to sink 100+ dollars into swords.
Great standard impact or not, this guy will dominate kitchen tables for many many years to come.
UPDATE:
So the ruling on this guy ETB with Metalcraft on. Since you have priority, you can call the equip 0 as soon as he ETB before, and an opponent can respond with a Doom Blade. However since you called the equip 0, it still resolves despite Puresteel or his metalcraft no longer existing.
Meaning that this guy dropping in with 3 artifacts is ALSO a Kor Outfitter that will lead to bad combat situations for opponents.
If this is comes out with a loose Sword of Feast and Famine, a memnite, & an ornithopter, opponents options are "kill what equipping" or "kill puresteel". This can be where you drop ANOTHER 0 cost Ornithopter, and laugh maniacally as you drop another puresteel or Stoneforge Mystic with the untapped lands
Let the Black/Red/Blue-bounce headaches commence.

Either of these abilities would've been good, but both makes him insanely powerful in a casual environment. If you don't have the removal to get rid of him quickly, your opponent will draw cards - and lots of them. With how many cheap, effective equipments there are in anything that isn't standard (there's still a few in standard), and also equipment fetching creatures like Stoneforge Mystic, he'll just keep drawing and drawing and drawing.
In a non-standard environment throw in stuff like Leonin Shikari, and with the 0 equip cost blocking becomes a nightmare. Whichever creature you don't block will be given all the stuff to take off over half your health.
A great card but so, so strong.

Do keep in mind that Auriok Windstalker (despite that being instant speed) does essentially the same thing at 4 mana to a mere one equipment a turn. This guy does it to everything forever.
That said, I do like that he's not an auto-include because of his specialty.

O-Naginata, Bonesplitter, Cranial Plating comes to mind. Have this guy out with some of the cheapest power up equipments in your deck and you'll grow in power fast. Made a deck with them and the five sword of's. By the 7th turn i had only 20 cards in deck and a very high Kor Duelist kicking butt.
Was lucky enough to pull two of these at the prerelease. Each game one came out, it completely dominated, and i only had 4 equipment in the deck. Came home, built a poorman's equip deck. In-friggin-credible.

Bah, I dislike this guy. Magic is just giving away over-the-top abilies, and pushing OP knights. Worst thing is, they're usually even good enough to see real play, or so I've noticed.
I mean, back in the day, this guy would say "equip costs 2 less", and he'd be great. But just out-and-out making all equip costs 0? And nobody's mentioned Leonin Shikari?
I guess it's probably the only way Equipment could hope to keep up in it's losing battle to Enchantress, after Umbra Mystic made it just that much scarier.
And for real people memnites and darksteel relics? Use Accorder Shields, with him it's a no-brainer.

Interesting;y enough, there are actually rules that state that a creature cannot equip itself to itself, just in case some degenerate game breaking combo existed that allowed something to do that, a la bludgeon brawl liquidmetal coating or march of the mahcines. it makes me sad :( I can't actually quote the rule though.
The card can be just absolutely incredible though. having him drop, equipping him with a whole shit ton of swords and like the new swiftfoot boots or any other haste giver and your in business. I remember one person attempted to pull this on me and just wreck my board position but mana leak came to the rescue. A pretty solid card in the right deck if your capable enough to make it work without dosruption.

I did respectably with a Puresteel/Equip deck last Friday. Mortarpod proved to be key, so I modified it to include Heavy Arbalest. I think it'll get me at least a Top 8 (at FNM...I know, not that big of a deal). So many possibilities with this guy, though.
With 2 Accorder's Shield this guy will give you 2 cards and be on his way with one more Zero drop Memnite + draw. And if you can avoid instant kills you get a 2/8 vigilance that can smile in the face of Dismember. Swiftfoot Boots if your lucky, leaves only Ratchet Bomb and Day of Judgment to worry about. This card is broken with Bludgeon Brawl!
When people have this much to say it can mean only one thing = this card is Broken. 5.0

I recently built a standard-legal casual deck using this fine fellow, Swiftfoot Boots, a bunch of 1-2 drop equipments, and Goblin Gaveleer.
Innistrad's Clifftop Retreat helps ensure I can get Paladins on the field, and once I get a good 12 equipments out on turn 4 (due to the INSANE card draw with the Paladins), I just have to draw one Goblin, and I can win.
The deck is a giant gamble every time you run it, but watching your opponent's face as you swing with a 24/7 Hexproof Haste First Strike Trample Vigilance monstrosity and then Fling it is worth the risk.

A great combo I like to pull with this guy is with Shrine of Loyal Legions and Mortar Pod. Let the counters build up, have your Pod in place, drop your Puresteel Paladin, then pop the shrine. Sac all your tokens with the pod, by equipping for free for a bunch of damage. Works great as a final blow to a weakened opponent, usually hits for between 5-15 damage, easy.

As many a Vorthos player would probably note upon expection: the great irony is that this guy (a Mirridon-aligned-human) works best in a Deck with Living weapons, all of which are Phyrexian Germs.
That little flavor screw up aside, it's a pretty good card. Sadly, I don't think there's a way to make the Deck he'd want to be competitive in outside of block constructed. And, all his goodness notwithstanding, he's still get a very narrow usability.

What's really interesting about this guy is that he turns things like Bone Saw, Accorder's Shield, and other zero-drop Equipments, into cantrips. Only instead of coming out at the end with a slightly thinned deck like you do with most cantrips, with this and those zero-drops you come out with extra equipment, card advantage, and Metalcraft.
