Oh man- not fair Wizards! If I'd never known of White Knight, this would have been the Best Knight Card Ever! :D But...CAN'T...PICK..!!! gah! I'm playing them both. :P

I run a knight tribal deck with both White Knight and Sigiled Paladin. I'm glad that I can now put 8 of each of those effects in the deck.

As far as I can tell from the prerelease tourneys, Knight of Glory and Knight of Infamy are the staples of the limited format.

Should be 1/2. Better life, more of a mirror of Knight of Infamy. Still one of my favorites though.

I just noticed that the reminder text for protection ignores that it can't be equipped by anything White either. This is my biggest problem with protection, that players so often forget about equipment - even the acronym to remember the ability, DEBT, only has one E when enchanted and equipped means there should be two. So if for some reason someone wanted an Esper deck with this and Mask of Riddles, they wouldn't know those two don't go together very well. I otherwise love this card, as I love almost all White Knight variants and most cards with exalted, but it's sad that reminder text, used to help newer players, is actually misleading them.

It looks like Pan in his armored form from Castlevania: Lords of Shadows.

My biggest problem with protection is that the creature cant be blocked by its protected type. not as a game mechanic but more as a. . .

White knight and black knight can not meet in combat under normal circumstances. and glory will never face infamy under the usual rules.

but. . . i love this guy.

turn 1

chathedral of war.

turn 2

planes and this guy

turn 3

planes silverblade palladin, swing for 8 points of glory

@marmaris...um, I think that's what he's getting at. The reminder text leaves the more rare circumstance to be explained when it comes up. There's only so much space in the text box.

After playing this in a GPT, I take back everything I said about this guy. I'm fine with him not having first strike, he and Aven Squire make a great team in Limited.

An great knight he is. Protection is a powerful ability especially in the hands of a pro like me.

@sarroth except they don't ignore equip in the reminder text. Equip reads as "Attach to target creature. It's covered under T in DEBT.

@sarroth
Really, they wouldn't be able to attach Mask of Riddles to a creature with Protection from Black anyway, since it can't be targeted by anything Black. The only time it really matters that a Protection creature can't be equipped by something of its Protection color is that you can't use a Magnetic Theft or similar card to attach a Behemoth Sledge to a Black Knight, for instance.

Edit:
@MindAblaze
My point is that it never really matters that Knight of Glory can't be equipped by Mask of Riddles. I can't attach Mask of Riddles to a pro-black creature anyway since I would need to target it. It's just not worth reminder text for the rare time where I'll cheat an equipment onto a creature without targeting.

Works great with Aven Squire, but even better if you have Invisible Stalkers in your deck to later buff with both of the previously mentioned cards.
