You can do it for Splinter twin, yes. When an ability activates at the beginning of your upkeep it goes on the stack. Then you can do things in response to your upkeep abilities going on the stack. And since your Untap phase happens before the Upkeep phase you can ensure your splinter twin permanent is available for use.

Same thing applies to Seance, as you get to choose what order your triggered upkeep abilities go on the stack. So you decide to put this cards ability on the stack first and then Seance. Seance triggers, you get your 1-turn token, then you populate, getting a permanent copy.

This card belongs in just about every token deck ever. Even the ones that don't use G or W, since you get to pick between the two. Awesome.

I'd hate to think about how ugly this is going to be with a well-mapped Dance of Many. Remember that ending the Dance only exiles the INITIAL token. All future tokens from Growing Ranks are free agents (well, as free as anything of Selesnya is willing to be...). Best of all, you can end the Dance once the first population is performed, and you still have your self-replicating Primeval Titan/Cloudhoof Ranger/Snapcaster Mage/etc.

At the beginning of your upkeep, copulate.

question: can you tap a Splinter Twin to have the token out right before this activates during upkeep?

edit: thanks for clarifying that Vakyoom your post was very helpful!

At the very least one free creature every turn basically.

One free 8/8 Elemental with Vigilance. Every turn.

No good can come of this curving into Doubling Season.

And shame on you FIRST PERSON TO COMMENT for not beating me to ''obligatory Doubling Season Comment''. ;)

Pros like me see alot of potential with this enchantment, especially with all of the beefy green tokens that are running around this set.

See that dryad in the foreground, at the right? Facing the Selesnya mage? She's got a sweet kiester.

Oh, uh, yeah. It's a shame G/W doesn't get many copy abilities, with that mostly being Blue and Red's domain, because this with any copy tokens could be hilariously evil fun. It's pretty ludicrous and impractical, but I would like to see this done on the kitchen table: This, with Mirror Gallery and something like Soul Foundry or a similar spell that makes copy tokens, on Emrakul. Make the copy of Emrakul, and have this populate on the copy token every upkeep. Additional copies are saved by the Mirror Gallery. Voila, infinite turn combo, since Emrakul's ETB effect triggers every turn. And, uh, an endless supply of face smashers. It could even be feasible if it weren't for the prohibitive mana costs, since you could have a lot of swaps for the combo pieces - you could cast or cheat out Emrakul instead and use one of the many ordinary copy spells, (Rite of Replication comes to mind) and you can use Followed Footsteps instead of this. But it would definitely require some very serious ramping and mana fixing, as well as a patient and curious opponent...

EDIT: Derp, I just read that Emrakul's ETB only triggers if it's actually cast. But you can do something similar with a lot of other creatures with strong ETB effects. Meddling Mage and Armada Wurm seem fun, and don't need the legend rule circumvention. But, again, there's the mana fixing issue, unless you use Soul Foundry or have some kind of mana party on your board.

@beleren2012: Yes you do.

Also, There are several cards that create Ooze tokens (with variable power and toughness), and you can get a lot of big Oozes this way.
