I imagine Wizards doesn't want top-tier removal like this at common for the sake of limited. Most common removal, even for black, requires some amount of hoop-jumping in the form of being overcosted or requiring a second cost to be paid. Whatever the case, black got a big leg up with the return of Doomy here, especially with Naya blitz decks being so prevalent.

if this is considered Uncommon, I wouldn't be surprised if Terror comes back eventually to play 'Shock' to Doom Blade's Lightning Bolt. This is likely going to be considered Uncommon forever now. If it gets a Common reprint in the next two years, I'll be wrong.
But if it doesn't, two more Uncommon prints would be enough proof in my book to show they mean it. I would then actively search out original M10 Foils. They won't, like, go super crazy or anything, but going up even by just say, a couple of dollars (up to maybe $4-5?) would be enough to make a decent profit If you grab them all up now for 15 cents.

Ah, it feels so good to have a true restriction on a black kill spell again. I know some hate it, but I really think it's cool that some black magic simply doesn't work on black.
No Banishing, no Doom, no Terror is enough on a Lord of the Pit, he comes from a place of Doom, Terror, and Banishment, which is exactly how I feel it should be.
Either way, glad it's back; I also happen to think the platinum uncommon symbol really looks good against all that black :)

Ugh, this card's rarity is indicative of everything wrong with Magic since NWO. Having decent cheap removal at common is essential to a fun Limited environment. I get that new players don't like losing their Dragon to it, but the flip side is that it is infuriating to have to play any player's bomb and know that once it hits the table there is nothing to draw to, because you never saw an answer in the draft the game is essentially over before the match even began. Please Wizards, repeal NWO and bring back useful, first pick worthy cards at common. You are doing everyone that loves the game a huge disservice.
Looks like we're going to have to hear "Dies to doom blade!" until it rotates out next year

I know there are plenty of players that disagree with me but this card in standard makes me want to play mono black. I don't want to play this card (except maybe in the sideboard) but I want to play mono black just to make those people that play four of this card feel stupid. There is nothing more frustrating than playing a game, looking at your hand and seeing completely useless cards there. That is usually the difference between winning and losing. I have played off and on since Ice Age and I know that speed matters but this meta is going to be a little slower. Hero's Downfall only costs 1 more mana and DOES SO MUCH MORE! Even things like Pharika's Cure, Devour Flesh, Away (of Far and Away) and Ultimate Price (even players that play more than one color play SOMETHING that is mono color) are better at least NONE of the cards I listed will be completely useless on a regular basis. (Oh, and btw, 3 of the 4 that I just listed cost the same amount of mana as Doom Blade).
In limited, this card is great. In Constructed this card is sideboard at best.

It's fine at uncommon. This isn't "cheap, decent removal" as many people are saying. It's the kind of removal that breaks limited.
Doomblade is the gold standard of creature removal. 2 mana, splashable instant creature destruction. No other color comes close to that efficiency of removal except red for 1-2 CMC drops (at the cost of being unable to remove anything big that drops later).
I honestly feel Murder should be the new standard of removal given the general slowing down of the metagame. Lightning bolt and Counterspell, despite being the gold standards of their respective class of spell, have clearly been considered too powerful for limited play. This should be next.
