Potentially retarded with Mirror-Sigil Sergeant. That card is already ridiculous, but making it exponentially more ridiculous both appeals to the Johnny and the Timmy within me. It's probably not needed, and will also probably make your opponents hate you forever, but the math involved is just giggle-inducingly delightful.

I agree with Zulp. I have even got that combo into play in a 6 player game! Another componant was Paradox Haze. It was crazy fun. I had a few of the Bringers in there as well as many other upkeep triggered creatures and a full suite of the Honden shrines.
It was really fun but I will never play it again! By the time I had enough mana to cast Followed Footsteps, my turn took close to 45 minutes!
I was thinking about putting together a deck with Followed Footsteps, Doubling Season, Opalescence and Paradox Haze but soon realized that the math is practically incalculatable.

I think the synergy with this one is pretty straight forward, either slap it down on a flyer to have lots of flyers to get around your opponents blockers.. or.. enchant with something with death touch, spam lots of death touch creatures, and have a ball. While its tempting to think about it with doubling season and various other enchantments in play, that's usually not practical. Think of followed footsteps like a psuedo mind control, cast it on your opponents creature instead of your own, and you get copies of their creature every turn unless they are willing to kill it so you don't get their tokens. The great thing about that strategy is it doesn't matter if the creature isn't the biggest "bomb" in there deck, since you get so many multiples over the course of a few turns. One ridiculously powerful strategy is if you can keep a creakwood liege in play, and enchant the liege with followed footsteps, they make eachother bigger, on the next turn both lieges would be 4/4, and produce 5/5 tokens on your upkeep.
probably best in UW for mirror-sigil sergeant , or in UG for doubling season, or in UGW for just general pwn

Imagine throwing this on a Mycoloth... Each turn the ones you already have out make more Saprolings, and the new Mycoloth comes in to devour them. And each one is getting exponentially bigger every turn!
You could also use this on an opponent's Legendary creature to get rid of it.

@Diachronos: "You could also use this on an opponent's Legendary creature to get rid of it. " I did it that at the pre-release, enchanting an opponent's Szadek, Lord of Secrets!
My favourite card in Ravnica block! With or without Doubling Season (interesting...) and Paradox Haze (excellent!), this card can be very funny! Endless possibilities, I can't even lose time explaining them, it's up to your fantasy!!

Run: Opalesence; Paradox Haze. Then, enchant Paradox Haze with Followed Footsteps for exponentially growing upkeeps. Then, giving the U/W nature of this enchantment deck, drop a Copy Enchantment (or just another Followed Footsteps) enchanting some other creature - like Angel of Despair perhaps in a UWB deck. Each new Paradox Haze brings with it another upkeep, and another Angel of Despair. And once you've wiped ALL of your opponent's permanent, if you start generating too many Angels, just start shooting down your own angels (or any of the combo pieces if you feel so inclined!)

I love this card. I've got a few copies in my Thallid deck; even without fun cards like Paradox Haze or Doubling Season, it's incredibly fun to play on Mycoloth. Since Mycoloth creates Saprolings during the upkeep, rather than as the effect of removing spore counters, the first Mycoloth can create however many Saprolings, then the new copy of Mycoloth can devour them, repeating the process next turn.
In one game, my opponent made the mistake of playing a Wall of Reverence. I already had a Mycoloth enchanted with Followed Footsteps, so I played another Followed Footsteps on his wall, and began gaining life ridiculously fast.
It's definitely a fun card to play, with lots of possibilities.

If you play clone, copying (just for example) drudge skeletons (who does that?), then put footsteps on the clone, would you get a new clone every turn or a new drudge skeletons. I think it would be a skeleton but I'm not sure. Thx.
@Axer: Yes, and that's precisely what you should do, since putting it on your creature is just asking to have it removed before your upkeep rolls around. Unless your opponent has a sacrifice outlet ready, it's pretty hilarious watching him scramble to get rid of the enchanted creature. At worst, he'll have to use his own removal spell on it, which is a 2-for-1 in your favor.

I've always liked this card with Clone in the deck as well. When someone busts out something crazy for some combo they want to try out, like Disciple of the Vault, or just Slivers in general, you can make yourself copies and odds are, they won't nuke their own creatures so you can keep them in check a little bit. This plus Copy Enchantment and Retraced Image can keep the party going.

this + sengir autocrat = four creatures every turn Can anyone tell me what would happen if the creature you are copying with this card has another enchantment on it. Myr Battlesphere or Avenger of Zendikar seem pretty good. Though you're probably already winning if you get those into play. Oh well, a man can dream...
Let's just list some creatures that loves this card:
Cryptoplasm - Obviously. May kill a legendary at beginning of your upkeep (Mind that when the copy enters, it's still the beginning of the upkeep) or use it to copy some other upkeeper and use it's ability and change to another upkeeper as needed in following turns. Chancellor of the Spires - Abuse opponents graveyarded spells Chancellor of the Forge - Exponential hasty Goblin token spam Mycoloth - Keep spamming those Saproling tokens! Can quickly turn into hillarity if not dealt with. Dragon Broodmother 1/1 dragon, 3/3 dragon, 5/5 dragon, 7/7 dragon, 9/9 dragon.... Snapcaster Mage - Flashback heaven Magmatic Force - 3X damage every upkeep Pelakka Wurm - 7 life, 7 life, 7 life... Massacre Wurm - Constant suppression and possible damage Arbiter of Knollridge - If you really like to draw out the game. Plus Eternity Vessel and Gilder Bairn for sheer stupidity.
Instead of needing to know how/if/what Kraj can do with Planeswalker abilities, just go ahead and straight up MAKE ANOTHER Sorin! The 'Terminator' deck shows how to do this with Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas, and I presume it works with Sorin just fine. :p

So I was thinking of new deck ideas, and I asked myself, "Wouldn't it be cool if you had a deck that completely mimicked the opponent's creatures, but made everything have an extra point of toughness?" With that in mind, I came up with this:
Firstly, put the leyline on the field. Then, summon a Clone, but don't copy anything with him. Finally, throw the Followed Footsteps on the Clone. Add Asceticism to taste. Voila, instant casual fun!

@Arglypuff Opalescense does not animate paradox haze, as it is an aura. A good enchantment to enchant with followed footsteps is the oft mentioned Doubling Season or it's little brother Parallel Lives Each upkeep produces exponentially more tokens... for a quick rundown of math, here are the first few upkeeps after this combo blows up: 1: 2 more tokens (3 Total creatures) 2: 8 more tokens (11 Total) 3: 2048 tokens (2059 Total) 4: 6.6185228434044942951864067458396e+619 (2^2059) Tokens Running paradox haze with this makes it quite fast indeed, and since you are running blue, after you set this up, just wait for it to go off, keeping mana open for counterspells.
(P.S. I wrote out 619 0's as a visual for how big of a number 6e619 is, but it was just obnoxiously large, if you feel you don't quite grasp how insanely large it is, try writing it yourself.)

Thanks to the new Legend rule, you can slap this on one of the 6 cmc legendary dragons with a death effect to get that effect every turn. Yosei gets a powerful lock up, Kokusho puts your opponent on a short clock and gives you life to boot, Keiga gives you control of a creature every turn (and is in the same colors as this). The other two probably aren't as good with this (not to say that they won't probably win you the game anyway unless removed quickly).

i've had a playset of this card for a long time now, and i typically regret drawing it. Waiting that extra turn for it to do anything is... debilitating. Always feels like a waste of mana. Especially when the creature gets destroyed or bounced. 3.5/5 Maybe i'm just not finding the right fit for it in my decks. Maybe if I build a deck around it like i did for Infinite Reflection... With Stolen Identity out now though, it works 1,000,000x better in my unblockable deck than followed footsteps.
My opponent summoned Biovisionary. I made an Evil Twin of his Biovisionary. He cast Followed Footsteps on my Evil Twin of his Biovisionary. Even with its high casting cost and color restriction, this card can change the tide of a game almost single-handedly. Watch panic ensue when you pop this on a Sun Titan and suddenly all your 3 drop permanents are racing back to the battlefield with each new copy and that's Not even considering what you'll pull back through simply attacking with your growing army of titans.
