I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an Emperor – that’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone, if possible — Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another; human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there’s room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful.
But we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women, and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.
To those who can hear me I say, “Do not despair.” The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators die; and the power they took from the people will return to the people and so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
Soldiers: Don’t give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel; who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don’t hate; only the unloved hate, the unloved and the unnatural.
Soldiers: Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty! In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written, “the kingdom of God is within man” — not one man, nor a group of men, but in all men, in you, you the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then, in the name of democracy, let us use that power! Let us all unite!! Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie! They do not fulfill their promise; they never will. Dictators free themselves, but they enslave the people!! Now, let us fight to fulfill that promise!! Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.
Soldiers: In the name of democracy, let us all unite!!!

And you think that modern masters was made solely for drafts? No it wasn't, it was Wizard's way of getting certain modern cards into circulation so that there's for more for new players to get.
Progenitus is one of those classic collector cards that every casual player, collector, or EDH player wants. I'm glad they've reprinted this, it's nice that the classic 'mother of all creatures' has some more prints.
@spiney Although there's a chance RetroGamer3 is in fact a die-hard draft player and convinced that Modern Masters' primary purpose is, was and should be drafting, i'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic, or has even been trolling.
One does not simply call Progenitus call a waste of ink.

@spiney: Mother of all creatures? What happened to good old Krosan Cloudscraper or Autochthon Wurm? Also with the extremely limited print run of Modern Masters combined with the hoarding habits of stores who got the product and the secondary market, the amount of extra copies in circulation will be quite minimal. The price of a Modern Master display has more than doubled, being sold for upwards of 400 $ or more outside of the US with people not opening their boxes because they know the price is going to rise.
I don't get why they would want to limit the print run so much anyway. Sure, some of the cards in modern are worth a fortune, but none of them are on the reserved list, and if Wizards really wanted Modern Masters to be an opportunity for people to get into the modern tournament scene, they should focus on lowering the cost of doing so instead of aiming to make Modern the next Legacy/Vintage where you can only compete if your wallet is fat enough.

Besides, Modern Masters has Sunburst and Domain cards. There are three land fetchers at common (Search for Tomorrow, Kodama's Reach, Terramorphic Expanse) and Vivid lands at uncommon. Not to mention a ton of card draw (Mulldrifter, Masked Admirers, Nantuko Shaman, Perlious Research, Petals of Insight, Thirst for Knowledge).
You laugh until your opponent casts Tromp the Domains and rolls over you with 10/10 Arcbound Wanderers and Skyreach Mantas, after your board state has been whittled away by Drag Down and Tribal Flames.
Progenitus is a perfect fit for that deck and is just icing on the five-color cake.

You know, as amazing as he is, the only thing I really have to say about him is this: of the many things that annoy people about this card, the one thing that really ***es my off is that it doesn't have vigilance.
100 years passed, and my brother and I discovered the new (hydra) avatar; an OMG WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT named progenitus
Also the head off to the side is the black head and the on in the very back is blue; those were the two colours cut off from naya so those heads kind of lost their power, but when the shards converged they woke up and now they slowly get their power back. I want an alt version of this card in his deceiver humanoid form.
Also I feel mayael should've had her spark ignite after stabbing this mother hydra avatar

I play with progenitors all the time! He's an awesome card that's a 10/10 unfeakin unblockable that wreaked havoc everywhere! His one downfall, 2 of each mana to make you pay ten! The one great thing that you can do is summon him from your hand. Example: you play 3 on three, your friend plays a phyrexian obliderator. We'll ***k now he's not your friend anymore. People freak out, he world ends, so on and so forth. You then say ok we'll lure of prey! Play a 10/10 for freakin 4! That's the easy way to get him out. There obviously are other ways but that's the one way I get to Murder my friends! The only thing that I wish didn't get through was the evil, wretched , Nevinyrral's Disk!😋

You guys are all talking about how Final Judgement can and can't exile Progenitus, but what you don't understand is that O-Kagachi (the creature in the art from Final Judgement) ISProgenitus! The flavor text from Progenitus is "The Soul of the World has returned," and some info on O-Kagachi taken from the MTG Salvation Wiki states that, "It was the soul of the world, the very first kami, as old as the plane itself." It also says at the end of O-Kagachi's story that he was eventually defeated, and so that would explain how he has returned - even if he returned in a different plane, in a different form. Is it not absolutely amazing that WOTC made this connection between planes, over (about) 5 years, and no one noticed?!?! Progenitus is just Final Judgement in creature form!!!
If this was common knowledge, could someone please inform me? This just blew my mind, especially figuring it out myself.

It drives me mad that they didn't define "everything".
Using the "DEBT" acronym, protection from everything means:
D - Progenitus can't be damaged. (On a card, this would be phrased "prevent all damage...".) E - Progenitus can't be enchanted or equipped. (Or fortified, but that rarely matters.) B - Progenitus can't be blocked. T - Progenitus can't be targeted by spells or abilities. (shroud)
