A nightmare to some decks. Sower does in in a winningly fashion.

Keep in mind it returns a creature its taken if it dies, and its vulnerable to literally every removal spell in the game that does at least 2 from shock through lightning helix and it isn't part black.. so you can be pretty well assured it will probably eventually die. It's on par with cytoplast manipulator in that sense, but with the pro that it can be used on the spot and con that it can only be used once.

Two helpful ways to keep it alive are robe of mirrors and clout of the dominus for 5 mana total instead of 4 (4 for the creature and 1 for shroud). As mentioned above its a fun target for followed footsteps (although glen elendra archmage is probably a better one), but clone and rite of replication work just as well (as does body double, and a few other similiar cards). It's defintley a huge reveillark target.

It's best against green and even its own color blue, where removals are less and where creatures matter more (green because green is all about big creatures, and blue because its so anti creature its got to have at least something in play to win). Any other color is perfectly happy to blast it rather than let you steal their creature.

Also fun with teferi, play as an instant and steal a creature during a combat phase to make them block their own attackers.

Control Magic as a creature rather than an aura, basically. Add in Momentary Blink, and you can even swap enthralleds (helpful if the original victim somehow died before the Sower, or they just played something better).

Vulnerable to removal, as mentioned before, but still a great disruption to your opponent's strategy when used at the right time.

Scion of Oona fixes the removal problem, if you plan on playing a fae deck. Honestly this card is beautiful; my only quarrel is that this doesn't have flash...now THAT would be a devastating effect.

Another thing that's important for this card is being able to use it multiple times. Necroing it is a possibility, but that means you have no control over when it dies, which means you can't switch it by will. I suggest Mistbind Cliquefor this. What you do is you champion this card during an opponent's attack, block with Mistbind, which will hopefully die, then this card comes back into play and you get to control another creature.

If I cast this, taking a doran (idk, that was random), then snakeform it and it dies, would I get to keep dorna, or would it leave since there's nothing keeping it here anymore?

Well . . I still wonder why faeries were so devastating at standard when it was released.
Not really.
I remember getting 4 copies of Volcanic Fallout in order to defeat these asexual annoying insects that multiplied in matter of minutes.

When taken out of context, the flavor text simply reads so... romantic.

Exactly what is that creature that's being tempted in the artwork? He doesn't look like a kithkin or an elf, and he's certainly not a flamekin, merrow, boggart, giant, or treefolk. If this weren't Lorwyn, I'd think he was human.

Another card that needs an Oracle update:

Flying
When Sower of Temptation enters the battlefield, gain control of target creature for as long as Sower of Temptation remains on the battlefield.
If Sower of Temptation is in your sideboard, you may put it in your Main at the beginning of the match.

Thanks, Alex!

Card doesn't follow the ruling on the details page in the official game Magic the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012, losing control of this creature (such as by mind control) also causes loss of control of the creature you had gained control of.

This, so much this! I just put together a Faerie deck for my fiancee, and this combo ripped me a new one.

I also used Equilibrium for reusing the Sowers. You can return your opponents' fatties when you want to, and return your "ETB" critters when you need to! She laughed maniacally as she bounced my saproling with 10 +1/+1 counters...

Unlike most Mind Control cards (that is, auras), this is effectively a 3-for-1 if left unchecked.

You remove your opponent's creature - +1
You gain that creature - +1
You gain a 2/2 flier - +1 (this is the part most MCs don't get - I mean, you get an echantment, but in the case of those auras they don't do anything beyond those first 2 points, where a 2/2 flier can actually beat face)

Of course, going up to a 3-for-1 means it's more vulnerable to removal than MC, so your opponent can easily reset the balance. But at least in playing this card you provide the question, which your opponent is forced to answer - or suffer that card disadvantage.

@JaxsonBateman

In fact, it definitely remains a +2 - you lose a card in your hand that could have been used for discard effects and gain a card on the field, leaving you with the same number of cards in total before the Sower's effect. You can argue whether or not being an Enchantment technically counts an effective -1 in advantage (although there are plenty of cards that are capable of returning or exploiting those Enchantments), but being a creature doesn't make this card into a +3. Still a good card, though.

Play this card. Target some green trample beast and Cloudshift it. Profit ?

It should be pointed out that this block has Scion of Oona as well; meaning this is a control magic that comes with a 2/2 flyer and that they can't get rid of.
