He's a good, solid man. Tragically used by many an opponent of mine to kill me.

Rav, at the risk of destroying your innocence, I direct you to Vorosh and Teneb's decks last year. My comment on one of them was, summarized "Wizards wants you to buy both decks and put them together"

@Ray, DarthParallax - It'd also fit in Prossh's deck pretty well. I can imagine the Shattergang brothers making pretty good use of all the tokens.

Azender of Vengikar!
Edit: Rav, this could easily have gone in any of the green commander decks. It's that good.

An excellent example of an excellent EDH Staple that was poorly chosen for the wrong deck. It really belongs in the tactician deck where it puts out plenty of creatures to abuse Derevi's ability and doubles the tokens with Roon's ability. Instead it got stuck in Marath's deck, where it can.... help Gahji, by just a tiny bit? Too bad Gahji is a multiplayer politics card and comes out 2 more than Edric for a gigantically worse ability...
Edit: Do all of you realize that it LITERALLY combos with BOTH of the Tactician's major generals? It does not do that for any other two generals released in the same commander product together. This is what I'm getting at.
Gatekeeper Vine? neat... but I raise you one Wall of Roots!

I can confirm this is amazing in Prossh. Red has several fantastic enchantments that let you sacrifice creatures for damage, you can use Foster or Fecundity to restock your hand, and Grave Pact means you basically wrath the board. Black also opens up Attrition.
I wasn't able to get anything out of it with Derevi. You have to either hold land back or topdeck a land to get anywhere, unless you have some passive effect pumping the tokens. 0/1s by themselves suck at combat damage. I was excited to play Boundless Realms and stomp gloriously to victory, but the thing is, by the time you actually resolve Boundless Realms, you have ten 11/12 Plants or whatever and you don't need to mess around with Derevi. There's not much synergy there. You'd much rather have a Hornet Queen, because they're less likely to be blocked.
Roon loves A of Z, though. Roon works miracles with Meadowboon, and so far as I can tell, there's no better card for Roon to bounce for massive token accumulation than this. If someone wraths the board, no worries, bounce A of Z and get a jump start on everyone else. It's amaazing.

He almost makes Woodwraith Strangler good. Almost. He does, however, make Tinder Wall and Wall of Roots even more excellent. You can offset those -0/-1 counters with +1/+1 counters.

Whoops. Was reading the comments as if I was still on Utopia Tree's page. Was getting REALLY confused.
