This card looks amazing for Jund. Sacrifice things to power up your Rockslide Elementals, Scavenger Drakes, and Algae Gherials. And that helps with Dragon Appeasement. I'm looking forward to getting mine at the prerelease.

six is pretty steep for a 4/4 flier. however it almost has an immediate effect with its chumpable token. not good enough for competitive unless some one comes up with a combo for it.

i don't get it...when you start your turn, given that you only have the mother in play, you'll only be controlling a mother and a token in play right? because the token shall devour the token that came before it, unless of course the token devours the mother itself. in that case, that's sick.

crazyknight, you don't have to make the tokens devour each other when a new one comes out, you can wait a few turns and build up the number of tokens then sack a lot of them for a monster token

This card is just amazingly kickass. Between the various dragon buff cards out there, this shouldn't be a problem. Combo it with any number of Jund cards that give a bonus when you sac a creature, and you're golden. Crucible of Fire? Even if it's not devouring anything, you've got a 4/4 flier. Doubling Season? Pop out two, devour one, and it becomes a 5/5. Lots of options here, and at the end of it, you've just got at on of fliers going around. Great card, great card.

This card is, in my opinion, a very good card. especially under the right circumstances. like if you have a crucible of fire on the field and your producing a 4/4 r/g dragon with flying every upkeep...

in a dragon deck, the card is wicked...

Just got one yesterday. It is a fantasic card.

I can't decide whether to add it to my deck though. I like the card too much to shuffle it.

UPDATE: I added it. It saw play in two games and won them both for me. I'd actually say this card is the oposite of Mycoloth. Mycoloth devours things and produces a lot of tokens. This produces tokens that devour stuff.

Just played with this in my deck at a local tournament. Every time i played it, it was a win a few turns later. Amazing when played with Mycoloth

Don't bother having the dragon tokens devour stuff! Crucible of Fire makes Dragon Broodmother a 7/7 with flying that pumps out 4/4 with flying creatures every turn!

This is an awesome dragon card. No dragon deck is complete without it. But to be really good, you need a Crucible of Fire to make sure the baby dragons stay alive.

Greatest addition in any dragon deck... have Karthus,Tyrant of Jund and some Crucible of Fire and you'll surely dominate the battlefield...add some burn spells from red cards and pump spells from green and the game is over...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I read this as a token at each UPKEEP, not just the controller's upkeep. I got a foil one out of a pack and I'm anxious to put it to use.

Run three of them in my Devour deck. The token production is nuts in a large multiplayer game, since you get one at each player's upkeep. At the end of 5 players turns you can get 9/9 flier without Doubling Season.
Also a great combo with cards like Kresh the Bloodbraided or Rockslide Elemental
My only real gripe is the lack of Black in the mana cost, making it vulnerable to cheap removal. (Maybe take out one of those three Red?)

I got this card and Lord of Extinction in a single booster lol...missed Lord of Extinction the first time I went through the booster because it was kinda stuck to the card above it. Not a bad pull from a booster at all, I must say.

But yeah, this card is pretty amazing as long as it doesn't get killed right away by spells. Won me two 1v1 games last night (one of them where I was down 20 life to 4).

If you have the baby dragons devour 2 other things each turn, say even other tokens, they can be 5/5, and trigger naya 5 power matters abilities, and thats when it starts to get crazy.. one bloodthorn taunter can give your baby dragons haste every turn, and spearbreaker can give them indestructibility. Be nice if the dragon herself was 5/4 though.

very good with verdant embrace and verdant force, and you cant go wrong with doubling season, I will drop 2 saprolings and 2 dragons, each dragon will eat a sap, and the dragons get 4 +1/+1 counters

great in a token deck, and works great with any token/sac effects as it both puts tokens in, and those tokens have devour

I have four of these and I run them in red/green dragon deck. I have ruined days with just having one out. I believe that one game I was in, I had one out and it was against three other people. I slowly let the babies rack up. and then WHAM! I let the eleventh one come in and devour ten. With crucible of fire on the field, next turn I hit someone with 24/24 flying. It was epic.

Probably my favorite card...

This is a pretty good card. The problem, however, is that it's competing with dragon broodmate in jund's 6-drop, and no other deck really wants to run this (if you want tokens, run something like wolfbriar). It's basically the same as anowon; anowon is a good card, but it's competing with malakir bloodwitch for vampire's 5-drop, and malakir is better, so anowon never sees play.

I've never seen a card with a a CCCD colored mana cost before. Bizarre.

This is also a massive threat. At the very least it's a token factory, but the fact that with enough tokens you can pump out something huge makes this great.

Dragon Fodder was MADE to support this card. It gives 'ya two goblins to devour at instant speed, meaning you can drop it during upkeep and there no way for the opponent to kill the tokens before the widdle cuddly killing machines eat them.

this thing is amazing. even if your babies don't devour things they are still 1/1s with flying, that come into play during your opponents turns as well.

I might even compare this to something like, oh I don't know, bitterblossom, sure it costs a lot but it's effect is a lot more powerful as well.

its a verdant force for only 6 mana and it produces fliers with devour. if you're at a stale mate let them build up.

The Alara Reborn Pre-release was the first draft I'd ever been to and my first booster had a Broodmother in it. Now every other draft I've done, I've gotten the alternate version of the Pre-release card. Thank you Dragon Broodmother for some insane luck.

Ok, i have a brilliant strategy for this card.
I have a Monogreen deck with a large amount of mana output through lands and tappable creatures. I also have 4 Tinder Wall. Now, What i do is, once i have a substantial amount of Forests (8-12) i pop a Howl of the Night Pack, maybe another the next turn if im lucky enough to have two in the same hand. That alone gives me a fair few sacrificial lambs (or wolves hehe). However, if im also lucky enough to have 2 tinder walls, i can play them, sacrifice them and play this card, and the turn after, i can sacrifice all the wolves to get that many dragons which have +1/+1 more than the wolves each. Combine this with Overrun and not many people will survive XD

Probably my favorite mythic. I adore this card.
The green mana symbol feels as if it shouldn't be there, though, and Alara Reborn's all multicolor theme forced it in. If they'd made it cost 2RRGG, it'd be fine. As is, the RRRG just doesn't look right. It's just begging to be mono-red.

@Studoku: Buy some sleeves for your cards = problem solved. They protect your cards from wear and tear, and prevents them from getting dirty if you're not playing on a newly-cleaned table, and they're generally cheap enough that there shouldn't be an excuse to play without them.

This is the most recent card that I own, because I stopped at Time Spiral Block... I have a promo version of it because when I bought a set of box of Ravnica block, the shop's owner gave me it. I've never played it, but I like it very much!

However, nice card, with a hilarious mana cost!

Sweet Avacyn, I love this card. It gives me an unlimited supply of 1/1 missiles to throw at my opponent, and I get the satisfaction of having so many creatures on the table I start to run out of room.
After playing this card:
Me: Okay, I'll start my turn - DRAGON! (puts out a token) - play some spell, and throw a 1/1 flier your way.
Opponent: Okay, it's my turn-
Me: DRAGON! (puts out another token)
Opponent: (glares) Are you going to do that every time you get one of those things?
Me: Yep. Oh, look, it's my turn again. DRAGON!

A flying token on every turn - not just your own - is pretty good for a token deck. It also means that if you run Eldrazi Monument as sweeper/removal protection, you're still gaining surplus even if you just have the Broodmother producing and no assistance.

Play it in multiplayer, however, and things can get crazy.

Traditionally, Red/Green has had some difficulty dealing with an abundance of fliers... this card solves all of those problems and then some. Even if you just produce a bunch of 1/1's, you've still got a ton of chump blockers, and with enough turns, their numbers can get truly ridiculous. If all else fails, have the children eat each other to become as strong as you need.

Also, the Broodmother herself is amazing when enchanted with Runes of the Deus.
