It's ok if there aren't a lot of black instants that can deal with this, since there are 1000 red, green and white instants that can deal with this.

Devour in Shadow, Smother, Soul Rend. 3 two mana instants that'll leave this *** dead as a doorknob. That said, I still love this guy.

@JimbonicTutor: It's a templating issue. They've come up with a better way to do it now -- if this card were published today, it would read "exile that card for as long as Tidehollow Sculler remains in play" and would have no second ability.

However, they don't issue errata that changes the function of a card anymore, so that will have to wait until / unless they decide to make a new card with a similar ability.

If running him in zombies, consider carrion feeder as a way to perma-exile the card in their hand. It'll usually be worth it; since you'll still be swinging for 2 that turn with the feeder, and you can always just recur this guy and do it again.

Another fun card to play with is Phyrexian Tower. Drop him T2 with a little acceleration, then eat him in response to his first ability to get your double black while exiling their card.

However, this guy is good enough without tricks to get the job done.
