This is definately the best liege to stack more of in play.
His ability gets exponentially better the more you got.

Almost seems kind of ironic that the tokens that it produces are actually stronger than it. This card also has really great synergy with Bloodhall Ooze.

Love this card. Coat of Arms is a killer combination with it. Pair him up with a Paradox Hazeor two and Mycoloth.

spike a followed footsteps on him, and you slowly gain a huge army of death.
1st turn: 2 lieges, 1 worm
2nd: 3,3
3rd: 4,6
4th: 5 10/10s,10 11/11s

A fun strategy is to enchant one of the worm tokens with gift of the deity, and force all your opponents creatures to block the lure death touch 5/5 worm.

Good support card, but slow and weak on its own. Your opponent will have ages to whack him before the worms start rolling.

It's a decent card even if you're running only one of the colors, because it pumps out a token every turn.

WOW.. i mean.. WOW! This is definitely the best liege in the cycle, 3/3 tokens is so wicked... this on turn two with dark ritual is just amazing.

Wonderful artwork; embodies what black-green should look like.

This is bad ***. Play all four of them! If you get 2 out then they are each 4/4 and you pump out 2 tokens each upkeep worth 5/5!
Protect him early on with some Giant Growth or bring him back from your graveyard with Hag Hedge-Mage.

This was always my favorite Liege, albeit that G/B was my favorite combo of colors, especially in the Shadowmoor block.
Playing him turn four with a Woodlurker Mimic was always a fun turn.
Not to mention making Odious Trow a wonderful blocker.

As soon as I saw this card I wanted it and have been on a quest to find him. When I finally do I will have over 9000 happiness.

Amazing card is amazing. I mean how could you go wrong with a color lord for 2 colors and the ability to make an army of 3/3s

I recently played a match with my mono-blue Shenanigans deck versus my opponent's b/g beatdown deck. I had managed to keep his creatures tapped down with a few Narcolepsys and a Freed From the Real. He played a Creakwood Liege, which I cast Control Magic on. He Played a Rendclaw Trow, I Cloned the Liege. He plays his second Creakwood Liege, which I once again Control Magic'd. At this point I've got three 6/6 Lieges, and three 7/7 Wurm Tokens as well as the ability to produce three more of said Tokens during each of my upkeeps. It was a glorious example of what I built that Shenanigans deck to do. It doesn't have a lot going in the way of win conditions, but lots of control, card draw and flexibility. That game also very much impressed me with the power of this, the Creakwood Liege. I wouldn't have had any semblance of a chance if I hadn't managed to steal them away.

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect.

1 in play: 3 power on the table every turn.
2 in play: 10 power (2 Tokens each getting +4/+4) on the table every turn.
3 in play: 21 power (3 Tokens each getting +6/+6) on the table every turn.
4 in play: 36 power (4 Tokens each getting +8/+8) on the table every turn.

The equation producing this is 2x²+x, and therefore, he only gets geometrically better the more you got. :P

Also, while already needing a load of mana and colors, a kicked Rite of Replication on him is really lulzy!

@Lord_of_Tresserhorn

You, sir, win a cookie (::)

That said, i'd love to Followed Footsteps this guy. larger and larger tokens powered up by my lieges? yes please. In addition, Triumph of the hordes is a nice addition to such a token producing BEAST

@http404: yes, worm. It's not a wurm, as in giant serpent, it's a worm, the kind that usually infest rotten wood =D

Pure awesomesauce.

All it needs is a bit of protection. It's not even legendary, which makes it by far the best liege to stack multiple copies of. Combos well with a ton of other cards as well.

His abilities are nice, but his toughness makes him easy to remove. Also I'm always hesitant to have most of my creatures be the same due to cards like echoing truth, maelstrom pulse etc. If you can get him some pro then its an awesome addition to a g/b deck

... I'm pretty certain this thing killed me in Dark Souls. Bed of Chaos anyone?

Anyways, this thing is awesome. Ridiculously so. I just run it in a mono-black creature sacrificing deck, for token spawning and buffs. Heck, I can't stop saying how good it is. It's THAT good.

@ lord of tresserhorn

Actually, geometrically better is only used in reference to patterns and while this does seem to resemble a pattern, it is limited at x=4 and is thus merely a triple binomial equation, consisting of y=2x2+x, x>0 and x<5 and, as such, is referred to as exponential equation and experiences exponential growth.

A 2/2 that gives 3/3s? Wow...

Creates card advantage *by himself*, for no mana, while being an everybody-lord.
What else can you really say about that?

Since no one has been here in awhile, I'll point out the now-obvious Deathrite Shaman. Also works great with Veteran Explorer; get this guy T2.

banekiller: you can only have 4 in a deck, but many effects can give you more, as lord of tresserhorn said (rite of replication).

Mmmm… Super fat, juicy 3/3 Worm tokens. Yes, 3/3. They’re Black and Green, ya know.
