New border without foil treatment...There's going to be quite a few players pleased with this, from what I've been seeing.

Step 1: Have your favorite dragon buried alive
Step 2: Cast Bladewing
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit

I think this would make a pretty badass commander.

Still no alternate art for this comical looking doof. He is packed with fun though.

The only reason he looks odd in the picture is the wisp of smoke that crosses in front of his neck. It's too opaque and obscures the arch of his spine, making his head look disproportionately large. If the smoke wasn't there, the full thickness of his vertebrae would look appropriate with his head.

The turn after you cast him, you can activate his ability 4 times. Hurray?

I like how this card encourages a Dragon-Reanimator deck. I bet it's a whole lot of fun to play, especially in EDH.

I like playing this in my Dragon Reanimator deck.

Turn 1: Swamp; Dark Ritual; Buried Alive; search Bladewing the Risen and 2 other dragons of your choice.

Turn 2: Mountain, tap Swamp, Reanimate (or Exhume if you played a Mox Diamond/Chrome Mox) Bladewing the Risen, and return...

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund to the battlefield and swing for 11 on turn 2,
or Kilnmouth Dragon and reveal the 2 dragons you had in your hand to get a turn 2 11/11,
or Broodmate Dragon and get 3 4/4 dragons on turn 2,
or Bogardan Hellkite and have it kill that Phyrexian Walker, Vexing Devil, etc. he may have thrown down and have him eat 2 damage,
or Kokusho, the Evening Star and then Fling it to have your opponent lose 10 life and you gain 5 life (can do this by turn 2 if you played Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox or similar in turn 1/2),
or Jugan, the Rising Star and have it give its 5 +1/+1 counters to that Slumbering Dragon you played with your Mountain this turn,
or Yosei, the Morning Star and Fling it later to tap all those nasty 0 cost artifacts your opponent is playing,
or Keiga, the Tide Star if we want to gain control of that Vexing Devil rather than kill it,
or the near-unkillable Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and have it gain haste if you played a Swamp rather than a Mountain in turn 2,
or the unkillable Zodiac Dragon,
or Thunder Dragon (or Ryusei, the Falling Star if we're going for overkill) and have it kill all those 0 cost artifacts your opponent played in his turn 1,
or Utvara Hellkite and start accumulating 6/6 dragon tokens,
or Scion of the Ur-Dragon to bring any of the friends listed above for later reanimation, whilst becoming a copy of it for 1 turn (possible by turn 3).

The possibilities are endless.

Combos with himself and Scourge of Valkas, thanks to the new legend rule.

Now i REALLY wish crucible of fire was a dragon tribal enchantment.
Oh well, a player can dream.
