While I love the "shambling hordes" aspect of this card, I've always wanted a means to spread the zombie infection. Maybe something like "Zombify: If this creature would kill another creature, tap it and put it on the field under your control. It gains Zombie in addition to its other types." Even if it might be OP to add this effect to this particular card, I think the above could still be a fun Zombie-themed enchantment. I just want to spread the zombie love to my opponents creatures :)

I agree with everyone saying that this is what mythics should be. It's big, dumb, and big. Card drops, jaws drop. I'm glad that zombies are being seen in hordes. That's how it should be.
My only complaint is that they didn't make the flashback cost cheaper; why not reward hardcasters with twice the zombies while rewarding "reanimators" with a lower cost? Still has to be a 5/5, though!

My friend made a deck which he called Brains! At first I thought it was a WU control deck, but when he started playing BG lands, ramping up mana making zombies everywhere, i knew that I am gonna face this card.. At turn five or six I think, he cast this with a lone Cemetery Reaper out.. He was like: "Should we continue this?" On my turn: I cast Slagstorm to kill the zombies.. "Yeah, we continue.." He played another one with no more Cemetery Reaper.. I summoned Massacre Wurm and he was ready for game 2..
The next game after some sideboarding, pretty much the same thing happened.. But this time, I have no Slagstorms nor Massacre Wurms in my hand.. He cast this while having two Cemetery Reapers out.. I was behind and was losing.. But I still have Balefire Dragon in my hand and Urabrask the Hidden out.. I drew my card, (Blasphemous Act).. I showed him my hand and he conceded.. =)

...which, funnily enough, makes me think twice about how I would use it in multiplayer. Like so many big effects, in a duel this is nothing but upside if you cast it; in multiplayer, though, this spell will paint a huge bullseye on your forehead, since the other players will (quite reasonably) want to kill you before your army untaps. You would be ill-advised to play this spell unless your opponents are largely spent, or unless you've got something else to help back it up.
As starfox444 and 2pcsofcandy commented, the most straightforward solution is Amulet of Vigor. Alternatively, you could try and make the most out of your army on the same turn you've cast it. Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar can turn your zombies into instant fuel - in fact, enough to flash it back on the same turn! Outside of the random local tourney, I'm primarily a kitchen table player. This card seems to be built mostly for that style of casual player, since it's CMC makes it fairly un-efficient in major tourney play. But for casual, it's a bone-shattering, face-smashing 5 stars, easily. Played a game with my wife the other day, i had my zombie deck, she had a life gainer/control deck. By turn 7, I had 52 zombies on the board (thanks, Endless Ranks of the Dead !) and all of them where 6/4 monsters (thanks, 2x Undead Warchief !) I wouldn't have had that many zombies if not for this card! Amazing, simply amazing!

It's zombies. It's a horde of them. And it's GOT FLASHBACK.
If there has ever been a cooler 1-card win condition, I'm not aware of it.
When one showed up in a booster, I couldn't help but tailoring my zombie deck to fit it. Added a playset of Crypt of Agadeem and Dredge cards like Darkblasts and Stinkweed Imps to ramp mana. My playgroup has recently taken to playing Horde magic. I have a single copy of this in the Zombie horde deck we use.
When we were first starting out, we played a couple games where the horde could cast it and then flashback it right away (since the horde has infinite mana). Then we played a couple games where the horde flashbacked it on the turn after it originally cast it. After that, we agreed that the horde cannot use flashback at all, at least for this card.

I did it. I lived the dream. I run a B/G EDH deck. I had Parallel Lives, Doubling Season, and Mirari in play, and the mana to go off. 13 zombies + Parallel Lives = 26 zombies + Doubling Season = 52 zombies, copied with Mirari = 104 zombies. And then next turn came the Flashback for 208 zombies total.

@foulgrin, I played pretty much exactly the same last night. Awesome tactic, However if you have the mana (I suggest getting a buried ruin, or ghost quarter) you should use its flashback first giving you 26 zombies, then when you use endless ranks of the dead you get at least another 13 zombies (assuming not got any other zombies on the table) Then use the unbreathing horde you will get a creature thats 39/39 and pretty much unstoppable hand, next combat phase its all over. Unless of course the biatch has a counter spell of sort or a creature removal card.
A really power creeped version of Green's Crush of wurms. Not happy to see this kind of stuff.
Black is being equipped to be the best creature token creating color with cards like this, Bitterblossom and Grave Titan. The color pie is under constant change. You never know what WotC is striving for.

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
Foulgrin, your choice would make sense, but is kind of unneccessary considering the power of these cards. Once you have 13 2/2 zombies out, its pretty much curtains unless your opponent can answer it. Waiting for Endless ranks of the dead to multiply your horde plus playing an unbreathing horde would create a lot of zombies, but since you would have attacked at least twice with 13 zombies by the time you get your unbreathing horde out, you would win already.

This card is NOT, for standard scenarios. This is for very late game stale mates. This, in most cases, this is a game winning card when you play it. However, it can be countered by things like Pyroclasm or Overwhelming Forces but, it's unlikely they have two of the same card in their hand, therefore flashback.
For what it is, I say 4.5/5 because, this card can win games, but, it is counter-able in the short term and therefore loses 1/2 a star.

You really want to play this with Gatecrash's new Crypt Ghast. You get 13 2/2 tokens on turn 5, and if you play another land, you can get another 13 on turn 6. I'm not saying it's standard viable, but it's funny as well. You have enough good black cards in standard to pull it off - lots of good removal, Vampire Nighthawk, etc.
I run this in a Blood Artist mill deck. You use Crypt Ghast to ramp up your swamps to get it out, and then combo it with Undercity Informer and reap the millage rewards. Believe it or not, it does work in constructed, though in a rather inconsistent manner.

I would play this in either a zombie deck or a jund deck. Why? Three reasons. 1: Parallel Lives 2: Death Baron or similar. 3: Warstorm Surge Anybody?
T1 - Putrid Imp T2 - Discard a dredger and dredge. Start dismantling the opponent with raven's crime T3 - Life from the Loam, Raven's Crime T4 - Helix targeting this and raven's crime, then cast another raven's crime that you've hopefully hit by now.
You've hit your opponent for 3-4 discard and dropped a horde of zombies. It's probably game. The great thing is that you can do the same with just Life from the Loam or Nightmare Void, it's just a little slower.
There may even be a legacy combo deck you could build around this in a Cephalid Breakfast style deck.

This card in my green/black zombies with forest titan and parralel lives? = epic win
When we were first starting out, we played a couple games where the horde could cast it and then flashback it right away (since the horde has infinite mana). Then we played a couple games where the horde flashbacked it on the turn after it originally cast it. After that, we agreed that the horde cannot use flashback at all, at least for this card.
Also fun with a mature Pyromancer Ascension out. :-)
Black is being equipped to be the best creature token creating color with cards like this, Bitterblossom and Grave Titan. The color pie is under constant change. You never know what WotC is striving for.
Then your opponent casts DoJ...
but you had 4 mana free and had Fresh Meat in your hand >:D
But the Zombie tokens are already vanilla.
Death Baron and Lord of the Undead cackle madly.
Soulless One emits a deep, bellowing laugh.
Shepherd of Rot shyly backs away, afraid of causing a draw, while Gempalm Polluter laughs at his sorry ass.
Seriously, zombies are now probably one of the best tribals ever.
Champion of Lambholt; at least a 14/14, and essentially unblockable.
And the 13 2/2s are all but unblockable too.
That said, I run one in my sliver EDH deck with an Artificial Evolution. Win condition if I've ever seen one.
For what it is, I say 4.5/5 because, this card can win games, but, it is counter-able in the short term and therefore loses 1/2 a star.
Does it really need it?
Very pleased.
How many? AS MANY AS YOU CAN HANDLE! AND THEN SOME!
*Buried under tidal wave of zombies*
Krosan Cloudscraper, Shivan Meteor, Into the Maw of Hell, Blasphemous Act, Withengar Unbound...
Hmm, there's a lot of 13s in the Innistrad block...
I drew Army of the Dammened, cast it and dealt 26 damage to him cause of Warstorm Surge!
This card should deserve a 5.5/5 star rating!
4/5 Stars
turn 5: another blood crypt, then play this and reverberate it.
Have fun with all those zombies. :)
1: Parallel Lives
2: Death Baron or similar.
3: Warstorm Surge Anybody?
This
Raven's Crime + Dredge
T1 - Putrid Imp
T2 - Discard a dredger and dredge. Start dismantling the opponent with raven's crime
T3 - Life from the Loam, Raven's Crime
T4 - Helix targeting this and raven's crime, then cast another raven's crime that you've hopefully hit by now.
It's also 26 power for 8 mana. With flashback.
4.6/5
