Another cornerstone Dredge card. This thing can fuel some sick plays if you do it right. Also digging the new watermark!

I'm actually glad we get to see it with a watermark, since usually when duel decks and the like are made, we lose the water mark. Its good that the only copies of this you can get have the watermark (even though its technically different)

Liking that they kept the watermarks for these sets so they mix well with RtR cards. Pretty excited to get this duel deck as I wasn't playing when original Ravnica was around. This makes my Savra EDH deck actually possible!

Really, i think that since this a very specific set of cards for each guild (each card was either chosen for izzet, or for golgari) each card should have been watermarked... It would have been a neat flavor addition i believe. I do like that they used the updated watermarks as well, differentiating these cards from their original printings (along with the set symbol of course)

This is like....really powerful AND really rare...quite surprised they actually decided to allow this in the deck. I'm very interested to know if either deck is remotely fair against normal decks lol.

Bonkers Ravnica Guild vs. The Other Bonkers Ravnica Guild tho....wow I am actually loving their new policy of Power Creep on Duel Decks products :P X.X

All the new Golgari stuff inspired me to turn my zombie deck into BUG reanimation. This card can do a lot, but one of it's functions will be a fail safe for my Dralnu, Lich Lord if I have to sacrifice a couple lands.

I always wanted to get one of these for my Mimeoplasm EDH deck, but I couldn't justify spending 10-15 dollars on a single piece of cardboard.

But this duel deck just hit it out of the park so much with so many quality cards that I couldn't justify NOT buying it.

@ TimmyForever:

That's not the only use for this card. But I'll tell you how many lands go in your graveyard.

In Modern, every deck with two or more colors has fetchlands. ~ 4 at least. And then there are decks with Knight of the Reliquary. And then you play against decks with Molten Rain or decks that splash Stone Rain. Then there are a lot of decks that run Fulminator Mage. And then there's the first and ultimate abilities of Liliana of the Veil. Both of those usually put lands in your graveyard. Then there's Flagstones of Trokair, which thins your stuff on purpose. And if you're playing a Dredge or even self-mill deck, even if this gets milled, you can get more lands if you're short on mana.

And then there's just the Dredge part of it...

This is one of those cards that gets better the more money your deck costs.

@TimmyForever:

Bro, I could list some of the limitless amount of combos with this card, as others have, but all I'm going to say is re-read the card, and this time keep reading after the word "Dredge".

Also good for the old Depletion Lands! Those will die eventually while giving you temporary ramp. You occasionally get screwed with them if the game goes on to long and you miss land drops. This helps keep your deck solid next to HIckory woodlot and whatever other colors you're using.

As mentioned, absolutely boss next to cycling lands.
Also very good next to man-lands for recurrable blockers. Stall that game til you can end it :)

@Timmy
Aside from:
Fetchlands
Cycling Lands (2 cycles of those have been printed btw)
Manlands and Zoetic Cavern
Depletion Lands
Lands that sac for additional mana
Opponents using Wasteland

The fact the card has *dredge* right on it; means probably 1-2 lands per turn going to the grave. Having this in your starting hand in a non-abusive dredge deck = perfect mana-drops the rest of the game. with ~1 casting. Which is amazing.

This also works in land's edge combos, over-filled hands, destroy-land decks, raze &boom//bust, discard decks, Looting effects, Windfall or Wheel of Fortune effects, burning inquiry, the list goes on and on.

If you can't figure out how to use this card you're not using your imagination. You can put it in decks that, without gravehate, are virtually unstoppable because nothing screws up your mana curve while the effects for your opponent are terrible.

Again, notice how it's *land*, not "basic land", which is huge!!!
