Not exactly better than Memnite, being essentially a 0-cost that comes out two turns later. It does power out a Myr Superion pretty handily.

Kev Walker Does Great Art. Priest of Gix Shifted. Treachery Reprint Would Be Stoopid Good. Nyways i like the ball lightning idea or a blood knight and a lightning bolt lol

Free is free. He also fixes mana. If you cast superion off of this guy, you are awesome.
This is not ramp unless you're reducing the cost somehow. It's not good mana fixing either, in that unless you're playing mono-red you're probably reducing your pool of playable spells (and if you're mono-red, you don't need fixing). It's good, but there aren't a lot of spells for this to fuel at the moment.

"He" has massive breasts, for the blind people in the audience.
If anyone can make this go a lot quicker than turn 6, let me know (has to be in Standard).

Remember kids, you can also use it with blink effects, such as Venser, The Sojourner to generate {R}{R}{R} every turn as needed! (Your turns only, obviously)

2/1 for free. He can also bring in a Myr Superion, giving you even more bang for your buck.

Red is the new Black, darling.
Priest of Gix had a color change... and a sex change... and a master change, too.

My dream is to chain four of these in one turn.

Venser is as useful a combo card with this as you would think, it only returns it at the end of turn, which, in a burn deck, would be fine, but i wouldn't splash a venser in a burn deck. blue white would be hard to make work in burn deck for a single card, and if you were to run more than one, i'd still rather run more burn... chaining four together for storm seems to be the best bet, or throwing it in with the red mana ramp cards, again for either storm or fireball, or something like that, a great piece for many combos

It needs haste. "Even in New Phyrexia, red mana sparks glimmers of individualism, passion, and freedom."
chaining two or three of these followed by a kicked Goblin Bushwhacker on turn 3 can really ruin your opponent's day. add in the one-drop of your choice for seasoning (I prefer Furnace Scamp).

Friend of mine played this guy. And immediately cast 3 lightning bolts. It was a good day to be red.

wtf, priest of gix is rated 5/5 and yet this guy isn't even a 4/5!
I rated him a 5/5 as to move him to the proper spot.
@DutchSanta The way it's used here, "glimmers" is a noun, so there is no grammatical error.
@Arachibutyrophobia This sort of effect, to me, feels more along the lines of red aggro, so Priest of Gix could be considered better because it's a bit outside of black's color pie. Both cards are great, though. I rated both 5/5.
OHH YES 4 OF THESE ARE DEFINENTLY GOING INTO MY RED AGRRO DRAGON ARTIFACT DECK ! I plan to use 4 copies of Semblance Anvil to reduce the costs of my dragons and their accompaning artifacts to between 0-3 mana , (maybe I should use the Anvil on sorceries or instants too ) and this dude will cost 1 mana ,give me a half way decent creature AND grant me a red "dark ritual" . This and the one where he sacs a creature and pays 1 to get 3 mana . Geosurge is also going to be a staple in my deck! WHEEE !
5/5 if I could figure out how to vote for it .

I'm using this in RG/Pod - really dynamic ramp potential off the phyrexian mana exchange, and a choice 3 cmc. The 2 power is just icing. Big fan - though I'll offer the uses I've imagined are sort of narrow outside of this deck.
Red really needs to stop stealing black cards. Seriously, we all know you don't get enough love, but don't mess with the lords of the swamp. Geez.

may have some combo use or in storm decks but in general, the card sucks. 2/5

I find it interesting that despite both being Phyrexian priests and doing the exact same thing, Priest of Gix and this one stand opposed flavor-wise. Compare:
"Gix doesn't want a people to rule but puppets to entertain his madness."
"Even in New Phyrexia, red mana sparks glimmers of individualism, passion and freedom."

1 Urabrask the Hidden
1 Moltensteel Dragon
4 Priest of Urabrask
4 Pyretic Ritual
1 Geosurge
