How I love utility lands that don't enter play tapped and still produce mana!

I really like the design of this, Mindslaver would be fun to use a second time!
@HairlessThoctar: I forgot about Academy Runis, good point. Althugh this has the bonus of not needing blue which is nice.

Should've been in Zendikar block. Seriously, you're plundering an ancient ruin for artifacts, how was this NOT in there? :/

Yeeeeeah, my Myr deck is about to get 4 of these....
But seriously, utility lands are one of my favorite aspects of the game. What's better than something that gives you many, thus allowing you to play more cards, but can also aid those cards, and/or your attempts to employ them?
Mishra's Factory will always be my favorite, but this is up there. 4/5. And props to Wizards for making this uncommon instead of rare. And for the pretty awesome artwork.

Kinda cool, I guess? It's not really bad by any measure.

I think I'm really liking this card. Although Academy Ruins is usually better in a blue deck, this one has its uses too.
-Doesn't require blue mana, so it's useful in any color deck. -Returns the artifact to your hand, instead of the top of your library. -It's standard legal. -Could be combo-ed with the previously mentioned Crucible of Worlds for recursion and to benefit Landfall effects. -It's not Legendary. -You don't have to pay $8 to get one.
Cons vs the Academy-
-You have to sacrifice the land to get the benefit. -Only has a one time use. -Usually only useful in late game when your willing to lose a land.
With that said, I think it could easily find a home in mono colored decks (since it produces colorless mana), even if they're not completely artifact based.

Couldn't agree more with scúmbling1.
Although there are better uses, I might wanna try this one out with and artifacts that allow drawing cards - get rid of unneeded mana (sources) to get some card advantage in exchange doesn't sound that bad. Then again that's already what this card provides when you sacrifice it in the first place :P

Very useful in most any Artifact deck. It doesn't come into play tapped, which is wonderful. Only complaint, if you can call it that, is that I'd rather it cost more, and not have to sacrifice itself, but that would probably be a bit broken.

This is great! It's like Academy Ruins, except I can actually find one! Other utility lands I like: Mystifying Maze: A budget (VERY budget, lol) Maze of Ith! Tectonic Edge: A Strip Mine I can actually get hold of!
and it looks like this is finally a utility land that isn't really all that depowered. Just less abusable, but the one-shot effect is still strong! :D

Is this seeing play in Caw-Blade decks? Um, no, it has Sun Titan to bring its swords back. Those are the only artifacts worth getting back methinks.

Why isn't this a 5/5?? Oh right, I know.. Because its colorless. You're right, my bad. Why isn't this a 4/5?!? It's a non basic land that doesn't come into play tapped. It does something cool. Just because you personally don't need it, doesn't mean it's not BADASS as far as Non basic, colorless mana producing lands are concerned! What else does it have to do to get its rightfully deserved 4/5 stars?? Its supposed to draw you a darn card too, RIGHT?? lol tough crowd here..

A handy little land. Useful for any artifact deck, and combos deliciously well with Crucible of Worlds.

This card might not look like much, but in the right deck it can be ridiculously helpful. I've had the chance to play around with it in my friend's Time Sieve deck, and the shenanigans this thing played a key role in would win me the game almost every time. This deserves a 4/5 at the very least. It's quite nice when used properly.

Great for EDH decks that don't/don't run Academy Ruins.
