This card makes me furious. It could have been good but its a friggin 4/2.

First of all, each card in Shards of Alara is supposed to belong to a shard and mechanically it should have some synergy. What shard is this card? Well according to its colors its Naya. Naya's theme is 5+ power. WHat is this card's power? 4...friggin 4.

Now, obviously it must give you creature-power-related-benifits...whats that you say? it RFG's land? in the most mana hungry shard?

WHY IS THIS CARD NAYA?

this card would be great if it cost like 4 more colorless mana and was a 5/4 so I could at least use it as a fattie in my Godzilla deck (Must have 20 creatures with power and tougness 4+) but its just dumb. If it were Jund it would even be ok. Jund likes to eat thing, this thing has like Devour - Lands 0

NOT NAYA

it's Butt is the size of a friggin windmill and it has a 2 toughness...thats the same as a human knight...
apparently it's full of friggin air and when you stab it it just pops.

I think Shoe2 is missing the point. This card is meant to back up all of Naya's awesome creatures. Just drop Realm Razer right after a Woolly Thoctar and the opponent will have a hard time revesing the board. I've won games with the Thoctar and Realm Razer even though my opponent had an Executioner's Capsule in play and plenty of removal in hand. They just couldn't afford any of their spells.

Also, the feel of this card has Naya written all over it. It's a giant beast that blasts away all forms of magic and knocks wizards flat on their back. It may not be the biggest critter in Naya, but it has its uses.

I agree with Shoe2, in that it at least could have gotten a little more powerful, just to fit in the Naya theme, but aside from that, he works in a Naya deck. He just removes lands from play, and if you're playing a Naya creature deck and not running druids of any sort, well, of course it's going to hurt you. Running at least 2 Llanowar Elves or Druid of the Anima as well as 2 Knotvine Mystic will give you 6 non-land mana right there to play around with. You can't be expected to play a Godsire, by any means, but you can get the best of the beasts out on druid mana, like the hasty Bull Cerodon or even the big blocker Meglonoth.

Breathe, Shoe2, breathe - the reason Realm Razer is in the most mana-hungry shard is because Naya's central color (green) is by far the color with the most readily accessible non-land mana sources. Druid of the Anima and the ubiquitous Llanowar Elves? In the right deck (apparently none of the ones you're using), it can be devastating, especially if you can keep it on the board.

As for dropping the big creatures down - I recommend the Llanowar Elves-Elvish Piper partnership. The creatures just rain out of the sky, no lands required.

Use your imagination (along with The Gatherer). This card has potential. It's almost like a creature/Armagedden combo. All of the earlier players DO remember the power of Armagedden don't you? And when you're playing green, mana shouldn't be a problem. Yes, it would be more powerful with a power of 5, but it is still a very useful card.

Absolutely mindwrecking in multiplayer. Flavorwise, this card is dissappointing. 2 toughness? Really? You can see a small mountain in the back of the card, this guy is insanely huge and about as strong as White Knight...

soo How does this go with the Landfall cards from the new set
Landfall - when a land enters the battlefield under your control

Razer-returnt the lands to play tapped

does that mean all the landfall card go off like crazy?

hahaha...gotta love how RR gets ripped on for having 2 toughness, when really it's now almost a PRO; 2 toughness makes it pretty easy to just bolt this guy yourself, triggering any landfall effect you have out on the field to ridiculous proportions.

Don't be surprised if someone finds something neat with this guy. Personally I always felt he was solid; razerpost WAS a decent tier 2 or 3 deck anyway, which really is pretty solid. With landfall Realm Razer seems like he could have some pretty interesting combos. Currently I'm actually working on a deck I like to call World Razer.

Once all lands are removed from play, naming land with world queller is pretty fun, considering my opponents won't be getting to use land anytime soon ;)

He's a great card, it's just that he isn't "efficient", per se. He's very johnny, and if you don't have that mindset then he really isn't for you.

Can you say Landfall!! imagine the crazy stuff that would happen when this thing leaves play and all the lands comeback. Howabout a 24/24 baloth woodcrasher? or 5 4/4 beasts tokens with rampaging baloths? the possibilities are endless

This card is great, but only in the right deck. Step 1, you need mana producing creatures, and artifacts, step 2 you need some big threat to play before you drop realm razer. All you have to do is get ahead on the board, i.e. play a mycoloth or a broodmate dragon, and then drop realm razer a turn later when your opponent thinks they can use their removal. Basically its designed so you can keep an edge if you play it at the right time, thereby keeping a good board position for several turns after its played, probably ending the game. You can also use this with planeswalker tricks, like have ajani vengeant in play, and then use realm razer next turn, and by the time they find out a way to bring back all lands by removing realm razer you play ajani vengeants ultimate and the game is in the bag. Another simple trick is if you purposely block or remove realm razer yourself on your opponents turn, the lands come back into play tapped, and in this way realm razer can be like a time walk where your opponent has their lands back, but can't play anything.

So I just had a question about this card because it says "remove ALL lands from the game" does that include lands in your library or just lands in play?

If you run this you may as well run the Borderpost s as well so that your land does not get removed. Then you have all the land you need. As for Shoe2 your deck just does not have the right cards in it to run agains it or with it. There is need to get all worked up about just one card. If everyone did that then Razor Boomerang would have caused everyone to stop playing the game.

Everyone is b****ing and moaning about the P/T of this card, stfu. Now. I'm so freaking tired of people who are too lazy to come up with good combos to run with decks. LET'S MAKE VAMPS AND JUND THE ONLY VIABLE THING EVARRR!!!

Magic is meant to be a thinking game. Until Shards came out, you had to actually find COMBOS. Anyone who plays just standard remember those? You know, the things that aren't Path to ExileGoblin GuideVampire Nocturnis or what was gone not long enough, Lightning Bolt.

You need to do one thing with this card and one thing only. Play a freaking landfall card. A few easy examples that are NO BRAINERS to the good players. Emeria AngelRampaging BalothsWoodcrasher BalothAdmonition Angel. OMG A COMBO IN STANDARD??? And check this out, with it's toughness of 2, not only can you play it, but you can drop your Mountain afterword and blow it up with your noob-bolt! or Plains into your noob-path and get ANOTHER LAND DROP. An amazing 5/5 combo card, learn what a late game is and stop playing m***** f****** jund/vamps, you're ruining magic.

Not meant to be offensive in any way, if anything, the comment is constructive criticism designed to make people think about Magic as more than a simple game of, "What cards have just come out that are both ridiculously cheap and overpowered?"

If you're lucky enough to have the mana and the cards, while ramping and landfall is what you want to do with this guy anyway, one among other ways you could play this is with Staggershock, thanks to the 2 toughness. How about a reserve Khalni Heart Expedition? Or Druid of Anima?

I'd imagine you would have around 5 or 6 lands before playing it. 5 landfall... that can be an 11/11 Geopede, a 10/11 Steppe Lynx, 5 1/1 bird tokens, +10/+10 for Adventuring Gear, 15 life thanks to Grazing Gladehart, 15 cards milled by Hedron Crab and thats only the landfallers that cost less than Realm Razer. 5 4/4 beast tokens from Rampaging Baloths, a board swept clean for a free shot by Admonition Angel, 5 +1/+1 counters on your Avenger of Zendikar's plant tokens, a 24/24 trample Baloth Woodcrasher, 15 life lost for your opponent and 15 life gained thanks to Ob Nixilis, all that if you still only had 5 lands before playing it. And that's not even considering the synergy some of these have together.

Not to mention the utility of the lands themselves! Teetering Peeks, Halimar Depths, Sejiri Steppe, Khalni Garden, etc. Hats off if somebody makes this work with Valakut.

I have to agree with OpenSeasonNoob. This card is 5/5 if you can be a little creative.

As the Ruling indicates, Realm Razer has some subtle depth opponents may be unaware of due to its triggered effects. It reminds me of the Faceless Butcher trick to exile creatures.

Say if an over-eager opponent, wishing to keep her/his lands unrazed, responds to the triggered at instant speed with removal. The second trigger occurs, and they find themselves with having lost the opportunity indefinitely. For better effect, float the mana you need and cast your removal spell the next time you've priority within the phase, after the Realm Razer has razed.

He isnt a crazy combo card, he is just used in aggro to kill "tap out" control because they need mana every turn and aggro only needs it early game to get creatures out. after you cast this you just beat down while your opponent stares at their doj in their hand that they cant cast.

Realm Razer is a really interesting card. It looks like a very dangerous double-edged sword, and in many ways it is. However, played properly, it can spell death for your opponents but not for you (which all the other posts pointed out already). I rated it a 4 for the fact that it can be potentially useful and for the fact that it's interesting. Unfortunately, it can mess up a deck with which it doesn't have good synergy.

Animate Dead this + Opalescence + Conspiracy (selecting Saproling) + Life and Limb, and you've got yourself a regular Worldgorger Dragon combo!!! Oh what, the lands come into play tapped? No problemo! Amulet of Vigor!!!!! Also, dun froget infinite landfall for your Woodcrusher Baloth and, if you're already going four colors, you may as well splash blue for Hedron Crab!!!

Expect to see this combo dominate Vintage

"WHY IS THIS CARD NAYA?" This card was supposed to be a Bantian Knight in development. The art for this card used to be the one on Knight of the White Orchid. It got switched to Naya (and the art switched around. I think this one used to be the art for Resounding Roar) because 4 power is too big for a Knight on horseback, as they are usually 2/2.

If you are playing Green Sun's Zenith in your deck, put exactly one copy of this big dude into your deck!

He is very situational, but if you have the possibility to tutor him at any time, he is perfect. I have played countless games, where I drew a Green Sun's Zenith and I thought for a moment: "Ok, if I get Realm Razer into play, I guess... I'll just win?" And I won everytime. Also, it helps to have a Bloom Tender around to keep casting spells.

The plan with this guy is:
1. Have a bunch of awesome landfall permanents
2. Play this guy.
3. Journey to Nowhere him for massive landfall.
4. Demystify the enchantment.
5. Lightning Bolt/Shock him for more massive landfal lagain.

I think it'd be hilarious if someone built a competitive deck around this card (maybe in Modern). I'm imagining the idea be to play cards to give opponents MOAR LANDS like Path to Exile, and then used cards like Weathered Wayfarer to load your hand, then drop this beast and Azusa, Lost but Seeking to unload your hand. And when (not if) Razer gets killed, you're ready with Tunnel Ignus and landfall effects. I like Modern too much...

question on rulings...if you were to cloudshift a realm razer, what would the stack look like? From what i gather, razer's leave the battle triggers, followed by his enter battlefield, with the effects going in reverse order. meaning that the lands are first exiled (since the stack resolves in reverse order) and then returned tapped. Is this correct?

I can't seem to pinpoint the flavor of this card. At 4/2 he's too small to be a Nayan Behemoth, and his flavor text makes almost no sense. By this point, Naya has had neither empires nor tyrants for a phenomenal amount of time. He'd have made more sense in Conflux, when everything was going eight ways apeshit.

@Averyck

The stack looks like:

New Realm Razer's ETB
Old Realm Razer's LTB
Old Realm Razer's ETB

Remember that Cloudshifting a creature means that when it re-enters the battlefield, it is a new permanent, unrelated to the old one. It doesn't know anything that the old one does.
Assuming no more responses to anything, the stack above would do the following:

Exile all lands.
Return the cards the original trigger (which hasn't resolved yet) exiled to the battlefield -- does nothing.
Exile all lands -- they're already gone.

Thus, there is little point to Cloudshifting a Realm Razer in response to itself, unless there's a land in play with an ETB trigger you want to have twice before it leaves.

An Unsummon in response to the trigger, however, will exile all lands permanently. For just {3}{W}{U}{R}{G}, you can make all your friends hate you! WhoooopWhoopWhoop.

It is a shame that this card didn't get an additional 1/1. As a 5/3 this would be great in combination with Spellbreaker Behemoth. That combo would have been even better with asceticism.

Too bad your opponent may tap their mana in respons to this ability to charge their doom blade or lightning bolt. But I guess that is also the one thing that keeps this from being overpowered.

Great concept that will create a very special style of gameplay.
