Agreed. This is THE solution to those pesky Bant decks...unless you count those annoying Bant helpers like Elspeth, Knight Errant (who gives flying and a + bonus to a creature) or Jenara, Asura of War (who IS a flying guy).

yeah its so lame how white is sooo the weakest colour in zendikar. and that black is sooo the strongest.
I really like this card and it's abilty fits in so nicly with it's purpose. Handy if your being attacked by one big meanie.

Yeah...this isn't a bad card. It's like a Doom Blade for white, and without the color restriction. Pretty unusual for white to have a destroy function, so it's neat. Lots of flavor too. The only regret is that it only works on non-fliers, Nighthawk scoffs at this as does Vampire Nocturnus. Idk, I'd have to play this card to see how well it does. Yeah, against Exalted (non-flier) it's awesome.
This only hoses Bant up until either Battlegrace Angel or Elspeth hit the board.

This card is great in limited, but otherwise it kinda sucks. If it could also hit flyers (and cost more), it would actually be useful. The trap is kinda nice, but since it only hits non-flying single attacking creatures (how often does this happen!?) it's not that great.
Ok, I'll admit. If the trap cost was 0 instead of W, I would actually like it. I don't really want to compare this to Swords or Path... But I would rather play Devouring Light in my deck than this.
I'll give this card a 4/5 in limited, but 2/5 everywhere else.
(P.S. Most bant decks I play use a lot of flyers.)
Not strictly worse than Smite because Smite requires an untapped creature capable of intercepting the creature you want to destroy. Smite is still generally better.

I like white having reactionary destruction. Protecting itself from attacking creatures with preemptive retribution is very much in white's flavor. The problem is...white has no beef with flying. Like, none. White getting a non-flying clause is like green getting a non-green clause, it just makes no sense to me.
