If you can afford to play it, this card rocks. A third or fourth turn Chandra, followed by this, and them her third ability when you can get to it.

combine this with quietus spike and you will drain all your opponents life in one turn.

In normal 1vs1 games, this card plain sucks. Just compare it to Corrupt.

Corrupt:
- deals about 6 damage right when you play it
- gains you life
- can also kill creatures

Wound Reflection:
- does nothing by itself when you play it
- is unlike corrupt vulnerable to bounce and cards that destroy or steal enchantments
- cant kill creatures
- doesnt gain you life
- you have to deal at least 6 damage to your opponent, before this card deals the same damage as corrupt
- you must have other permanents in play to deal damage (if they are creatures, they must be able to attack, be unblocked and deal a reasonable amount of damage). Else, you have to wait a turn until you have mana again to play some spells to deal damage

In multiplayer games where you start with 40 life, this card might make sense (but also will make everyone attack you). In 1vs1, it's plain useless. Horrible card. I'd never play it. Sounds fun if you think "Oooooh double damage!" but it is really really bad.

As a late game/already have creatures in play enchantment, it's a good card. That is especially true with flyers or tramplers. I've paired it with Rage Reflection in a red/black deck to deal 24 damage with Knollspine Dragon to win. Variable Colorless Patience is a virtue guys.

For majinara - How about megrim? It doesn't do anything by itself. There's plenty of great cards that don't do anything by themselves, like all the quests. It just seems to me that you really just don't WANT to like this card haha. Just my opinion though.

You forget that in this block many powerful black-red cards exist, and given the wide assortment of sources of direct damage that red has, this card seems like a good combination.

Also, you assume Corrupt will always deal at least 6 points of damage. Again, in a B/R deck, assuming an equal number of Mountains and Swamps, Corrupt would statistically be more likely to deal only 3 damage. Instead, a Fireball would effectively do 10 damage for the same mana cost. And, since you're playing B/R maybe a Breath of Malfegor to make everyone hate you. Of course there are more ways to deal with an enchantment, but the same fact it is one means that if they don't do something about it fast, you'll get the same effect not just during your turns but on every end step. Corrupt, obviously, will only work once.

In comparison to the other Reflection Enchantments from Shadowmoor, this one is the only one that has an effect on opponents instead of yourself. Again, under the assumption B/R is being played (as it seems this card was made for one such deck), both colors have plenty of effects that deal damage to every player. Doubling damage only for your opponents like an excellent way to gain the upper hand. (unlike, say, Furnace of Rath, which is clearly a more riskier alternative and harder to play in multicolored decks)

Now, I haven't actually played this card, but I expect it would work very well in the right deck.

First thing that came to my mind was Pestilence

Things like Repay in Kind wouldn't actually work with this card, since they simply change your opponent's life total instead of causing them to lose life. Still a sweet card, especially in a B/R deck: Pestilence/Pyrohemia, red burn spells, etc. 4/5 for being a bit pricey

@ Faildini: Check the rulings of Repay in Kind. It says that the players actually gain or lose life to make the life totals equal, and that it will interact with cards that deal with loss of life.

Pretty awesome card in general. Any good Pain-draw or R/B burn could use this to some effect.

attack with massive fatty, they let it go unblocked, thinking "i'll kill it next turn lols." That's when main phase 2 comes in handy

I think that majinara is a smarter MasterOfEtherium at this point. Not that it's hard to be smarter than MOE.
Also, Temporal Extortion.

What if you play two or three Wound Reflection would they stack?

The crazy thing is, you can play this card in your second main phase and it still does its job.

So, let's say you dealt ten combat damage to your opponent, because they decided that they could take the damage, drop to 10 life, and then kill you on their turn.

Surprise! Another 10 life lost at the end of your turn after dropping this card. And you can then proceed to start killing your other opponents with both a 2-to-1 damage ratio and their awed respect.

Majinara, I actually just saw two consecutive cards where you've bitched in the comments.
That was weird.
I prefer MasterOfEtherium, he actually seems to understand how the game works

Heartless Hidetsugu + this: A two-card combo that either kills everyone else in the game or drops them to 1 life.

This can be played as a sorcery in a sense by casting it during the 2nd main phase after you have attacked.

This card is pretty cool, I just have one tiny quibble with it- I am trying to make the Spike-tastic-iest deck of BROKEN SHIT imaginable, starting with breaking Kaalia, which leads to breaking the 3 biggest offenders in Kaalia: Avacyn, Gisela, and Griselbrand.

This takes me down a Stoneforge Mystic Route pretty quickly, and the number of one-two Idiotically Powerful Combos is pretty amazing. Like Worldslayer + Avacyn, Or Land Tax + Demonic Hordes. Concerted Effort + Sword of Vengeance is also quite nice. That's just for breaking Avacyn.

To break Gisela, I liked the idea of adding Avatar of Slaughter, Warsturm Surge, and Inquisitor's Flail, as well as Ghosts of the Innocent. As it turns out, she has a nice simple combo as well with Tainted Sigil + Temporal Extraction + Sanguine Bond.

Griselbrand is sort of dumb too, and Vault of the Archangel doesn't make any of these combos any nicer, but does make Stoneforge + Elbrus, the Binding Blade rather amusing. And I guess I want to be running Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to add further breakage of my Plains-searchers. I like how Liliana Vess works so well to Miracle cast Entreat the Angels.

Well, what I'm trying to say is, as much as a I like this card and it's obviously on-theme...it now appears somewhat slow and redundant. After adding lands and all the best removal from Comet Storm to Planar Cleansing, Bonfire of the Damned and Terminus.....is there still room in the deck for Wound Reflection?

Or did I Overload the Epic Quotient for a Commander deck, and now I have to make it a 200-card Archenemy Deck? Maybe 300?

Oh my goodness this is a powerful card.

My current favorite EDH deck is helmed by Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and is kind of a life drain "kill you with mana" kind of deal, stuff like Consume Spirit, Drain Life, Exsanguinate, fueled by Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Deserted Temple, Rings of Brighthearth, it gets a lot of mana. So when I'm able to Diabolic Revelation for 5-6 cards, I usually grab this, Sorin Markov, Blood Tribute, Sanguine Bond (and Exquisite Blood if I'm feeling particularly evil that day) and just one shot my opponents.

5/5 would buy again.

@majinara By your logic, all triggered abilities, all combos, and all enchantments just suck. You're comparing a sorcery to a freaking enchantment. That's like saying that sorceries suck compared to instants, when in reality they both have good and bad sides.

So much better for red than red's own card in this cycle (Rage Reflection). Not strictly better, but considering a lot of red decks just run burn spells and few if any creatures...

A freaking nuclear bomb in EDH!

This + Temporal Extortion = Let me take an extra turn, or you die.
This + Sorin Markov = If you have 20 or more life, you die.
This + Quietus Spike = If left unblocked, you die.
This + Heartless Hidetsugu = Tap to kill everyone, or left the lucky people with life at an odd number with 1 life

@majinara

First of all, Corrupt doesn't work very well outside of monoblack, as opposed to this card, which is very splashable.

Second of all, why would you use Wound Reflection without some good ways to make your opponent lose life? Cards don't exist in a vacuum. Yes, Fling doesn't do anything if you don't have any creatures in your deck. The thing is, why would you put Fling in a creatureless deck? It's the same idea here.
