Plus she's not too bad to look at (beyond the obvious ;D ); the fire/blood looks cool, and she is probably the best example to date of Zendikar Vampire's cultural norm of making armor and clothes out of the spoils of the giant swamp insects.

She's a frickin nuclear missile in limited. You play her and if she survives two or three turns you pretty much just win the game right there. RoE is kind of low on removal that can make her go completely away and prevent you from just killing everything your opponent has. Nirkana Revenant anyone? "So I'll just tap my seven swamps for 14 mana, kill your two Baneslayer Angels and swing for 14 in the air." Amazingly flavorful and cool and good looking etc. and I want to marry her for winning me so many games in the prerelease but she's not going to see constructed play outside of casual. Malakir Bloodwitch just has a much more relevant ability in being able to shrug off half the removal in standard.

This card is so insane I don't understand why black gets everything these days. As others have said this is a better flameblast/mordant dragon, and it's in the same set as nirkana revenant. There's really not much you can say about this card that isn't good. It has some real strength as a vampire heavy hitter, being one of the better finishers even if you aren't playing any other vampires.

If you get her, play her, regardless of color. She's that good.
If she doesn't die (read: if opponent doesn't play white) she's gonna own the air. Being a legend and dealing less damage to the dome than a dragon both hurt, but the five-cost makes up for it. And she can KILL BANESLAYER! Hooray!

A well rounded card !! Typical price for an effective vampire i.e. sengir vampire. I think the ability is a very catchy and effective one. She deletes the other creatures toughness and her power capitalizes on it. What could be more beneficial besides removal. 5 of 5 !!

lol she is definitively one of the best vampires i have seen, i just owned my friend's ally deck with her as i was about to die, i dropped her and survived one more turn just to finish him off killing one of his ally pigs and dealing more than enough damage to bury him. Her ability is gold, i kill one creature and get to deal extra damage every damn turn. Anowon doesnt have **** on her.

Just played a casual game against a friend's beatdown deck. Mid-game and beyond he couldn't keep any creatures in play because Drana kept killing them. Reminded me of the opening scene from the South Park episode "Margaritaville."
Oh, and need I mention...she's soooo beautiful! She inspires me to write a trashy syrupy romance novel starring her and a tabula rasa teenage love interest...nah.

What I like about Drana is that she is good on turn 5, and can take over a game right there, but she only gets better the longer the game goes on. She is slightly worse than grave titan though, since you have to keep sinking mana into her to get full value.

If malakir bloodwitch didn't exist, Dran would be a clear choice for the 5 mana spot. Still, the fact that she is legend means that you won't have to think about it like that, I think I'll run 3 bloodwitches and 1 Drana... It's a hard choice. bloodwitch is better against white for obvious reasons, think I'll switch some blood witches for some Dranas when not playing against white.

Probably one of my favorite cards, and I rarely play Black.
She managed to take down a Pathrazer of Ulamog for me in the first match I played with her at the release and swung for 13 damage in the same turn, which made a fairly strong impression for me. I'm certain I would have gotten first place if she had appeared in my final match, but I was more than satisfied at placing 2nd and getting 3 mythics in my prize packs.
The reason I really like this card is because it shows a high level of design. The ability is both interesting and powerful, and fits well within the color and creature type. The art is perfect for the card, both in terms of representation and in overall card composition, and her flavor text tells a fair amount of the Rise of the Eldrazi story in only a few words.
While she's too large to fit in modern competitive vampire decks, I like the fact that she's more like the classic vampires (who were big, but now they really want to make it clear that the big black monsters are demons) rather than the small, hyper-efficient ones we see today.
She's a card I wish was in my colors, and I hope to see more cards like her in other sets.

He bought the red-black intro pack of Rise of the Eldrazi with this rare on it. And I should say that it's not "that" fun to be on the receiving end of this card's power... - Although I love seeing my friend progress in magic (like using this ability as an instant for example)

Although I first was introduced to her playing Xbox 360 Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Awesome game to boot (which by the way is maybe not saying much unless the AI is on hard setting. She won me many of those games, even by killing off my own creatures. Hmmm can you say Grave Pact/Butcher of Malakir?) I've played her out many times in my non-digital vampire deck in which she ALSO has won me many a games. She basically says kiss my butt Darksteel Colossus *laughs*
