ndrew68- nah, they got the color balance right in this set :) Look at From the Vault: Exiled and you'll see some similar patterns- each color needs a bit of love, and to put BOTH Cabal Coffers AND Urborg in would have been way too much love for Black, as there wouldn't have been something you could offer the other colors of commensurate value. They picked the right one of the two, given they had to choose one. :)

Kinda sad that I think most people don't even remember who Yawgmoth really is anymore, but at least he DID get into the Vault! Deserves it more than anyone but Urza. :D

Something to keep in mind when playing this: it's also a swamp. You can tap it and get black mana. Same goes for your other utility lands that you have out. It seems obvious on paper, but believe me, I've seen some players forget that in the heat of a duel, and underestimate how big their potential mana pool can get. It can do more than simply enable swampwalk!

An entire island is Yawgmoth's tomb, may he rest in peace.

So darn good, and probably my favourite land because of the possibilities it opens up while still remaining easy to include. In any Bx deck, it makes landbases easier. In monoblack, it can ramp alongside Cabal Coffers. It can let you feel more comfortable using utility lands that usually only tap for colorless, or don't tap for mana at all, as it gives them the option to tap for black. Plus, being in black, you can easily tutor it up - I know whenever I include my 'Cabal Coffers package' (2x Urborg, 4x Cabal Coffers) in a deck, I include 4x Expedition Map and 4x Beseech the Queen and rarely have an issue getting at least one Urborg+Coffers online.

Very powerful for what might at first seem to be a small effect.

This is one of the very few cards I'll rate 5/5. It's useful for a wide variety of purposes, and it's painless to include in a deck, since it just replaces an ordinary swamp.

This card is so good. It even lets people run drain life or consume spirit in multicolored decks without any problems. It also solves all other problems you might encounter when playing black spells in multicolor. What's not to love about it?

@Doaj - I'm hoping that you're kidding, but in case you are not: Creatures having the Swampwalk mechanic can attack, block, and be blocked like any other creature without a mechanic. The change comes if your opponent controls at least one Swamp basic land(not any land that produces Black). At that point, they can still attack and block normally, but they are unblockable. As Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth makes every land card a Swamp in addition to the other types, creatures utilizing the Swampwalk mechanic are now unblockable. If your Urborg becomes the target of land destruction, that extra Swamp ability is lost, and Swampwalk creatures lose their evasion.

If this is put into play, any lands that you and your opponent control all become Swamps in addition to their other types. Therefore, Swampwalk creatures on both sides become unblockable until Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is removed from play. If both players control Swamps, your Swampwalk creatures cannot block your opponents' Swampwalk creatures, and they cannot block yours.

As I understand it, this can be put into any Commaner/EDH deck since it is not actually a Swamp, but has an ability that alters it into a Swamp.
"Basic land words (swamp, forest, etc) in the text box of a card do NOT represent a coloured mana symbol. They are not restricted to Commander of the same colour identity."

Imagine if they were to do this for every basic land type eventually.

This and Kormus Bell can go in any EDH deck. In this case, they're in my Elesh Norn deck because fuck you.

The changed legend rule makes this a much stronger play. Now you could tap one for mana, then play the next one, choosing to let the original hit the GY.

Sure, it would be stronger (to a ridiculous extent) if it were non-legendary, but the changed rule at least keeps multiples from being completely dead draws.
