Aww yeaaaa. I forsee Junk colors playing this the best. Mana ramp into this early, combine with Exquisite Blood and then Extort when you get this one out... That's gonna be a straight forward combo deck taht could dominate pretty easily. Thats one of those decks that could use a strat-changing sideboard, so game 2 or 3 you don't even do this combo but win in a different way since they'll probably be sideboarding to try and prevent you from winning the original way.
Either way, good times are to be had. Not relying on Vizkopa Guildmage is a plus since he's more easily removable thanks to Shock and Pillar of Flame in standard til October.

I'm glad to see this back - means I may actually wind up with a copy to run with my Exquisite Blood. I smell a new mono-black commander deck on the horizon...

@Continue This will be a rather exciting 2 1/2 months. Imagine that combo in multiplayer. Uhhh... you take infinity life, I gain infinity life. Anyone else?

For a casual deck, I'm tempted to try combining this, an infinite mana combo, and Stream of Life. Not particularly good on one hand, on the other, you're combining Stream of Life w/ something else that can take that lifegain and make it so there is an additional benefit for the player/penalty for the opponent... POTENTIALLY... and one that would also serve as a potential win-con... god I love experimenting. ^_^

correct me if im wrong but this plus Exquisite Blood create an infinite loop?
Just add an Angelic Chorus and it makes a pretty devious passive card. Throw in a Serra Avatar and done.

I used this in booster draft. Nobody was after the lifegain cards... because nobody expects lifegain to kill them. Quite possibly the only time I'll ever finish off a player by sacrificing a creature to Bubbling Cauldron.

@bbom: Yes, Exquisite Blood does make an unlimited loop with this, but the loop ends when one player dies.
You'll need to spark the reaction when the enchantments are in play. If you opponent can stop all damage or loss of life, and stop you from gaining anything, they can survive in a very precarious situation! Also bear in mind extort causes loss and gain of life as the spell is cast, not as it resolves, so don't expect to instantly win by extorting this with an Exquisite Blood on the field. I'm sure causing a little loss or gain won't be a problem in any deck that uses these spells, but it might give your opponent a slim chance to win if they can do it right away.

@JimmyNoobPlayer: It actually doesn't end, since after having a player lose life due to Sanguine Bond it procs Exquisite Blood again and it allows you to retarget with the life loss effect of Sanguine Bond. Remember that it's a cycle of you dealing/gaining the amount of damage/life that you started with, so if you started it with dealing 2 damage, then it procs until all opponents are dead or when an opponent responds with an effect.
Also, when extorting with this, you will not only trigger Exquisite Blood with the life gained from it, but you will also trigger Sanguine Bond a number of times equal to the number of players in the game. Since it's a way to trigger them without requiring a creature to go through or a spell to resolve it is in fact the BEST way to trigger this infinite combo.
