Thank god for this reprint. I'm going to grab up as many as I can. It's so difficult being a Magic player that wants all the stuff from the Time Spiral block, But started too late. Those price tags make me sad.

There are a lot of ways to safely deal with Stuffy Doll in Standard: Oblivion Ring, Defang, little auras like Dead Weight, Tragic Slip, Death Wind, and Mutilate, not to mention the millions of -1/-1 counters from Phyrexia. (And infect creatures will kill him, but Stuffy will still deal non-infect damage as he dies.) You can even use Guise of Fire, but you probably don't want that in your deck.
I haven't played with him before, but I guess he's a little less awesome than he used to be. Still awesome, though.

Lovely card ;-) I find that the new art is more suitable for M13 because the Time Spiral doll is a dependence on the very old dolls like The Rack, Black Vise or Cursed Rack and Time Spiral had many dependeces on older cards. Since M13 has so much connection to those old cards as Time Spiral, it would prabably (for me) weird to see the old picture in this reprint. As it is, a more sinister badass picture is more logical.

I am new to magic and have a question about Stuffy doll. If Stuffy Doll is hit with a attack that cause 10 infect with Trample. What exactly happens with Stuffy Doll, I know it dies but does it do 10 non infect damage to the attacking player?

Goes pretty nicely with the Inquisitor's Flail. It deals double the damage, and receives double the damage. With one flail, you could be dealing 4 damage a turn. With two flails, you'd be dealing 8 damage a turn.

2)-X/-X kills indestructible creatures

How dare they reprint this card. I suppose they will reprint Pariah or Pariah's Shield in Ravnica now too... At least there are plenty of cards out now that dish out -1/-1 counters and such. Good target for Volcano Hellion

Indestructible is a very misleading ability for new players. Part of the 3 most confusing abiltiys.. 1) Hexproof... Why is your wrath killing it!!! 2) Indestructible... Why is your -X/-X killing it!! 3) Protection... Why does this die to wrath again?? hes protection from white!!!
Its still a very good card. Hard to win against if you dont have an answer.

I threw together a deck around this guy like 5 minutes ago. I haven't played it yet but everyone tell me what you think:
4x Stuffy doll 4x Shivan meteor 4x Pariah 4x Obelisk of naya 1x Garruk relentless 4x Lightning bolt 4x Dawn charm 4x March of souls 4x Wear away 4x Aftershock 4x Mwonvuli beast tracker 1x Sunhome, fortress of the legion 4x Kher keep 5x Forest 5x Plains 4x Mountain
If you're wondering why there's a Sunhome there, it's so that you can give your enemies double strike when they are blocked by stuffy.

Do I get to select a player before fighting, if put into play with Guild Feud? The wording of "As Stuffy Doll enters the battlefield..." implies that this is not a triggered ability that goes on the stack, unlike something that says, "When card_name enters the the battlefield..."

☆☆☆☆☆ (0.5/5.0)(1 vote)
Is this a triggered ability or an activated one? Please respond! Going to a tournament soon! Thanks!
I'm thinking multiple stuffies would make for some fun games in multiplayer. I'll have to obtain a few more and test that out.
For now though I'm using him in conjunction with Ulvenwald Tracker and whatever biggest creature I have on the battlefield at any given time since I can just make a heavy fight Stuffy Doll and my opponent gets to enjoy the show in the form of direct damage.
When Guild Feud puts this card on the battlefield you don't get to pick a player until after the fight. Stuffy's etb triggered ability can't resolve until guild feud's triggered ability has finished resolving.

*ahem* Blaspehmous act + reverberate or chandra the firebrand's second ability.
For 99.9% of situations your answer to the trample question is correct. However, for whatever reason that opponent can choose to have any amount of damage more than lethal be dealt to the stuff doll.
Trample is a MAY, you don't have to trample over if you don't want to.
A scenario where this might be a good choice is if the stuff doll is choosing someone other than the player who is attacking you. It may be optimal to have that damage go to the other player, if they are a bigger threat in that game.
The old one is colorful and immediately recognizable as "that particular damn doll". But this one looks just as remarkable, and very sinister. On top of that it is depicted as animate here, which does make sense since it can attack. Which just adds to the creepyness factor.
Also, for any of you out there who already maniacally laugh when they cast Pariah on this: Consider running Tarnished Citadel. It has a ridiculously high toll of 3 damage for producing mana of any color - and your opponent will get a taste of that! And it can be easily done by just switching out some of your basic lands. Even if you're running a monocolored deck, the damage output you get each turn through this painland is marvellous: Bolt your opponent while producing mana - now that's something!

Please help
I have had 2 different clans of players tell me two different "Absolutes" about stuffy doll (used without other cards).
1. when it blocks, no matter how much damage can be dealt by the attacker, stuffy doll only transfers 1 damage to "chosen player" because that is the maximum damage a creature with 1 toughness can sustain regardless of the power with which it is attacked.
2. Whenever Stuffy Doll is dealt damage, it deals that much damage to the chosen player.. meaning the damage dealt, not received ...the damage dealt is equal to the strength of the card attacking stuffy doll therefor the total amount is transferred to the "chosen player" not just the 1 damage from S.D.s toughness.
i DO NOT just need to know the answer but I NEED to be able to PROVE, beyond a reasonable doubt, which is the true way- because I have a deck full of stuffy dolls and cant keep switching back and forth every time I get with a new group.
UPDATE: I called Wizards of the Coast and they were happy to inform me that it is indeed the later of the 2 options. Maximum damage.

An attacking creature without trample will deal damage equal to its power to the blocking creature if it is the sole blocker. You can only choose how much damage to deal in case the opponent use more than 1 creature to block (but full damage must still be assigned to the creatures blocking it).
So, if you use this to block a creature without trample, it will receive damage equal to the attacking creature's power. So basically this will cause your opponent to hit himself.
If the attacking creature has trample, the attacker can assign lethal damage to this creature (1 if its toughness isn't boosted) and all the remaining damage on you. If your doll has received lethal damage before combat happens (even when it doesn't leaves play because of an ability), the attacking creature with trample can assign 0 damage on it and all damage on you, practically making your blocking attempt fruitless.
Moreover, if your doll has 2 damage on it (done eariler this turn), and you play giant growth to give it toughness 4, the trampling creature can assign 2 damage on the doll and the rest on you.
