When I first commented on this card in Innistrad I said I hoped this would be reprinted in a core set at some point. Yea, that didn't take long.

I like the idea of Fight becoming a staple mechanic. It's one of the best ways so far for green creature removal that doesn't violate flavor. I hope it sticks around.

So...I'm betting it's given updated art in 14. Any takers?

A bit too situational for my liking. I mean, if you have a creature that can 'fight' an opponent's creature and win, then you probably didn't need to fight it in the first place. And if both of them die, you've just two-for-one'd yourself.

Already tired of seeing innistrad cards that get reprinted during the current block...its already in standard, let it be in danger of cycling out before you try reprinting it... ****

Some people will be like "oh, its for drafts" and I just don't care. That's like 6 spots wasted on cards that could've been more exciting reprints. Leaving out staples like giant growth or autumn's veil for a card that's in standard already and will be for the duration of this reprint's existence in standard.

You still love confusing me with your bad decisions, don't you wizards...

I couldn't have said it better than Vakyoom. I like that this card is getting reprinted, but why so soon when this card is still in standard?
Same goes for the other reprints from/to Innistrad like Fling or Divination.

As for commenting this card, even though I said what I said earlier. I like the fact that they're putting the "fight" mechanic on a core set. It's really deserves more attention and not to be "block specific".

I'm consistently surprised by what I can pull off with this card in a deck full of echo, regenerators, wither, and undying creatures.

Good to see they are keeping this. Green needs more "Fighting" removal.

Vakyoom says it all. Seriously, there are at LEAST two cards I've seen so far that were in the Innistrad block reprinted in M13 - Evolving Wilds and now this one. Seriously, WHY did they do that? I mean, even if it WOULD allow players to have 8 Basic Land-fetching cards instead of only 4, they should've at least put Terramorphic Expanse into this set instead of Evolving Wilds, and in M14 pick one or the other. Don't put a card that will be standard-legal past the next format change anyway INTO THE CORE SET THAT IS GOING AWAY AFTER THIS FORMAT. The ONLY way that would be a valid option is if they weren't going to release a Core Set every year, which they still are anyway. >.<

I are disappoint, Wizards.

I like fight, I want to see green have it as its removal mechanic. Blue has counters and cards like unsummon, red has pure damage, white has exile, and black has destroy. Green has always been left out of general removal with only the situation kill spells for flyers. Now with fight, they have a...well...fighting chance. I just hope that wizards makes more similar cards in RtR and beyond.

With Stuffy Doll, it's also a pretty good Green burn spell.

IF FIGHTING IS ENSURED TO RESULT IN VICTORY, THEN YOU MUST FIGHT!

Kind of nifty with Wild Defiance.

This is green removal, and this is how it should be done. Totally in-color.

Higher-costed green removal spells could function the same way, just with the addition of increasing your creature's power/toughness or weakening the other one, so that it'll have an even greater chance of killing the other creature.

Cards like this make a championship mono-green deck very possible for standard. I will be the one to do it because I am a pro.

@mrhardy12 Fetch-Lands aren't good enough to justify having 8 of them in a 60 card deck anyways, it would disrupt tempo too much. Even 4 is overkill. Even in a 5 color deck, you have Abundant Growth which is even better for color fixing even in only 2 colors and on top of that it's a cantrip. Maybe in a durdley 4 color control deck that doesn't use Green someone would be stupid enough want to use more then 4 and even that is a stretch. And even in singleton/commander/edh, what's wrong with 2 fetch lands? There is way more then one tutor, why can't there be more then one fetch land? Especially in a multi-colored 100 card deck.

Can you use this when a creature has a enchantment that says it cant attack or block?? I used this more or less as a way to kill a card with undying to remove such an enchantment & ended up arguing with my brother for a couple hours about how it was considered an attack....I ended up winning the match but would like to know if i cheated.

It means: "Destroy target creature" for Green. Simply.

I am unclear as to the effect that "Prey Upon" has on a creature that has been "Pacified". Does the "Pacified" creature fight, or not?

@ Sylance42 and Undyingjoe93, Fighting is not attacking. As long as it's still targetable, you can make it fight. :)

Something that encourages pump effects (which is neat)
Brutal with deathtouchers; helps brutes in green fight on their terms. Your skill with a sword (oddly enough) only matters on the battlefield, not in a fight!

Is there an old school card similar to this besides Karplusan Yeti? Seems like there should have been.

@Lilwolf2005 if you have a first strike/deathtouch creature you get FLAWLESS VICTORY!!

Technically, first strike is not applied in fighting.
